I’ve had this game in my library for a long time and have tried a couple times to get into it but was unable to because of the learning curve. I decided to give it another shot and found your videos. I’m finally enjoying this game and looking forward to playing it everyday. Thank you very much!
lol that made me laugh a little ( ive engineered this perfectly ... little later under load.... you have to be carefull to oversterrrrroooOOOOO!! ) moment brought back some... fun memories hahaha
One thing missing from the fandom is a good tutorial. This is a great one only I bring my speed down to 40 or 60 depends on stability of design and if it's hauling a lot. Soon as I get my computer this year or next I've been thinking about doing a thorough tutorial.
@@buritomaster game has changed a lot over the years. Some things don't work anymore and other things do. I started playing around 2019 and all the videos I watched some still apply and some don't
22:25 always point your connectors downhill and your half blocks on the base could be oriented on the bottom side of the full block so you don't have to lower your Rover to dock
I always point them uphill, on a level platform that merges into the slope. This way there's a flat space to park on, and rovers can drive off into the uphill slope very easily.
I recently made my first proper buggy. It actually handles so freaking nice, i can steer super sharp without tipping, efen now with a small autocannon on top for sniping turrets of bases. Its limited to 120kph so it doesn't jump and bounch on hills. So its the sneaky turtle, cause the top is like a turtle shell around the turret. Btw it has 6 wheels instead of the planned 4, but it allowed me to have only the front and back steer and tuning the angle down, also i tuned the grip slightly lower as 6 wheels got more than 4 anyways. A couple percent more and it would go on 3 wheels cornering.
Hey! Excellent tutorials so far, I'm having a blast playing alongside, and it was the first time i really got into this game. So, thanks! Now, where's the next one?? Are you going to do more of this, right? right??
Another great way to build a small grid rover is with a large grid rotor. Build the rotor, but cut off the existing rotor head and add a small rotor head. Then build your small grid vehicle off of the small rotor head. The rotor has the added benefit of allowing your vehicle batteries to charge while you build.
you should never press "P" to lock to a connecter use switch lock on the hot bar from the "G" menu this way you don't get into the habit of using P as it will disconnect all ships/vehicles from the grid
I'd recommend telling people to store materials for a solar panel in their rover's inventory, I just slapped a bunch of small containers on top of your design. Also, bring hydrogen bottles, also in small containers.
I have found that a staggered wheel setup is best. Higher friction in rear than front makes it understeer as the front breaks traction first. Softer suspension in front than rear lets the front absorb roll when turning. So on a 6 wheeler my setup would be for friction from front to rear would be 50/75/100 makes the pivot point the rear wheels at 100 friction. Then suspension strength from front to rear would be like 10/15/20 with the softer front able to absorb rolling in turns. With this setup theory my rovers can corner at high speeds no problem.
See, back in Episode 1 you were a little niggled that your site wasn't very flat. I love having a slope like the one you have here, because it enables a drive-on, drive-off platform really easily.
Take the time to set up your suspension. Max height and strength will make you want to roll. soft absorbing is much better. But not too soft, so drags its ass.
I love building rovers. i started building pressurized cabins for my rovers so they could also be used as long range scout vehicles. the latest model from SDRF (StarDriveRoverFactory) even has a survival kit on board. I just need to figure out how to get them from Planet to Orbit. Aka i need a fitting dropship xD
Wait... Antenna boots the ore detector range???? I thought all it would do is transmit the ore detector to anyone in ilthe antenna range. But the ore detector itself still has the limited range.
So much magnezium... DROOOL... mine that up, refine it, then take it to the outpost and sell it, after a few runs you can buy A B-980 freighter :) they only cost about 1000-1500 refined magnesium.
Next time I get an Ironnode earlier. I think it would speed up the process a lot and along the way I might find other stuff. I get that rock does contain other minerals too (kinda hit me when i refined my first pure iron, duh!) but still... i rather look for iron than run back and forth to squeeze some out of rocks :)
Yay. I found Gold Nickel and Silver in ONE spot... and some ice.... aaaaaaaaaand not a speck of iron! :D (got handrill II and a stationary scanner. Srly need a car it seems) Edit: Silikon yay... figure iron is too deep from what i saw in another guide or i am just unlucky. AH! At last found some! :DDD yosh Man ur guides are awesome!^^
@@LunarKolony that much i knew , i meant that corse i only had wheels that required dlc bzt that has been solved, startet a New game and than had them unlocked
Me and my friend bought the game in the Steam Spring sale and these 2 videos are really appreciated by us. More! :) We found it really difficult to start a survival sandbox game and spawn together. I had to "cheat" and fly to her place. Can you not start together somehow?

Best of luck! It's very rewarding once you learn the game :) have u tried playing the first jump scenario? It gives your some great tips and designs
Defiantly recementing this to anyone who is starting SE survival. Nicely done
thank you!
Did you mean "Definitely recommending?"

@@BrianRonald I get that, but I rarely keep the first functional Rover I build and eventually use the connector for shuttles or miners
Vrmm Vrmm Lunar has a truck very nice btw looking good!!! :D
Lunar: i may have gone over board with the greeble
me: theres never to much greeble xD
“You’re not in danger…”
Klang: Allow me to introduce myself.
lmao
please I hope you do more of these, I am just getting back into this game after about 5-6 years and these up to date videos are invaluable to me!
I made this rover, got too excited and skipped the “wheels part” Rover is now in a canyon broke apart haha!
We have all been there don't worry! 😂😂
Yay have been whating for these two continue my friend whose new to the game have find this how to videos extremely useful

Holy crap you made me soil myself at 20:20. That outburst was unexpected 😅
Please do more, this helped me a lot and this shit is pretty funny
I could watch the first 5 seconds of this video nearly endlessly. beautiful comedy karma.

They actually fixed this now so it doesn't do that anymore

Of course, the presence of literal earthworks at the point you chose for your dock makes it all the more fun.
7:55 if you wonder, just hit THE NUMBER AGAIN and it swaps to smaller. So in his case 1? wait why are those backward? odd
Make it even sexier put duels on the back😊

FYI you can type /gps MG , to add that to gps from chat window
Nice video.
Have they changes pistons they just got straight through the ground for me
Is this the last episode? I cannot find more videos of this type

amazing man u saved my noobs life, is there a next episode? thanks man
When is the next video coming?
The 'suspension up and down' is nice. but I also added RESET suspension.
I put it down. i tap once. its up again :D
The ore in my rover won’t offload any idea how to fix?
Im dying of thurst... how do i get water or any liquid to frink?
I didn't knew about the antenna+ore detector combo, efen tho it sounds pretty obvious that it works that way
May I ask you ? What is the name of the song you are using in your intro ? Love the start of the video, by the way XD
Abba - when I kissed the teacher

oh didnt know you could grind stone when mining, learned something new :o
Please do a tutorial like this but for large grid rovers.

Are u using dlcs? I cant build wheels without dlcs
wheels are not DLC, they do need enough clearance around the suspension unit for them to spawn in though
