I mean- he does also ask for ideas to be suggested at the end of videos i think, but even if they are doing this without being asked to by Odin, they are giving him plenty of ideas of other wonderful ideas for his powrful craftsmanship!
I appreciate that you left the flubs and mistakes in the video. This helps us newbies realize that even the best Makers make the occasional error. Most tutorials and make videos seem to edit all that out. Once again thanks for an awesome inspiring video!
This is great! I have a bit of an obsession with mechanical hands. It's a really specific yet ubiquitous trope in modern fiction, and I think one of the oldest as well. I believe it became a part of social consciousness mostly thanks to Fritz Lang's Metropolis, though as far as I know the original "man with the mechanical hand" was a real historical figure, "Gotz of The Iron Hand", whose prosthetic was basically the same as Ash's from Army of Darkness. Sort of interesting that Ash eventually got a high-tech hand much like the one from Metropolis that was probably inspired by the original Gotz hand. Anyway, just wanted to share a crash course on the history of what you made here. ;D
This is one of your best creations I've seen so far! I really like all the details. Which reminds me that I have some episodes of that show left that I haven't watched yet so thanks for that too. Just beware of Ash's evil hand looking for that glove!
Seriously. That's the fan favorite. I don't think anybody watched ash vs evil dead... It wasn't that good at all. In fact it copied a lot of stuff from the old movies and went nowhere. Also the show got cancelled because nobody wanted to pay for it because it sucked. The only people that watched it were people who were pirating the episodes and even then I think it only got some attention on Netflix re-runs; briefly. Just leave it alone. The evil dead series is dead like star wars and everything else. Don't watch any of this crap. Life is short go outside and have fun instead 👍
that thing kicks ass.....it looks like its a screen accurate actual prop from the show. really great job picking the materials and assembly. really nice work man
Haven't watched in a while, but I love the new style. Seeing Odin get a bit flustered and confused makes the videos so much more interesting. I love seeing the full process.
Yessss!!!! Another Odin masterpiece. Like recently it's been mostly swords and other stuff, and I know it's so you can put out more videos frequently, but I really missed this. Very awesome details, and lengthy video. You're just too awesome.
This is now my favourite build that you've done, Odin. This could have been used in the production and no one would be able to tell the difference. Absolutely perfect.
I love these videos! Currently my dad is in a rehab facility due to a spinal stroke and he’s been watching your videos getting excited to do projects when he’s all better! Thanks for helping him during this thought time!
Loved watching this build. This is one of my favorite props ever, I’ve been kind of obsessed with it since seeing the show. This video makes me wanna build one so bad.
Odin! Another awesome and incredible build! You’ve got the chainsaw, you’ve got the power glove, now you got to Mack the mechanical gauntlet from Army of Darkness! Hail to the king baby!
All the Evil Dead, Army of Darkness and Ash versus the Evil Dead is my favorites. I do a lot of collecting on these. U did an amazing job on the two props!!!
I love Evil Dead with a passion. I loved the OG films like Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street, but none will stand out in my heart like Evil Dead. With that being said? This was a GROOVY video.
This build has a wonderful combination of real greeblies combined with custom foam/plastics to give it an overall very realistic look, wonderful work as always!
Im a big fan of ash williams and the evil dead franchise!! Im so glad you made this one!! You're ALWAYS the best Odin!! Your creations are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 You're one of my biggest inspirations!! Im still you #1 fan here in the Philippines Take care and stay safe, my idol!!
Thanks for another great build. As much as I appreciate the work and skill that goes into your big multi week builds, I love the smaller builds using lots of bits and pieces and finding creative ways to replicate a prop. Many thanks.
Who else thinks how ridiculously smart it is of Oden for this big debate to be going on about the wires and then he just goes and looks up the production photos and sees what they're made of.. Great build Oden!
Hey Odin, I have been watching your series for two years and I love a lot of the works and watching this reminds me of when I first used foam to build a wearable Prawn hand from District 9 and how hard it is to take it off.
Odin this is one spooky and robotically awesome prop. I remember when you built Ash's Evil Dead Chainsaw arm when you were on DIY Prop Shop, that's the video that got me into your builds now your channel is bigger than ever. it's a pity that DIY Prop Shop stopped showing videos you were and still are my favorite prop builder from the show even now you are my favorite prop mentor and the person who's videos i turn to when i need techniques on how to build or make something out of foam the Odin Way. Stay Safe my friend and keep building cool and awesome props made out of foam of course because this is how Odin Makes. Peace :)
Odin, that looks absolutely spectacular. It looks just like his hand from the series. If only I had the parts. My best friend loves Ash Williams and I would totally have made this as a gift for him if I had the time too.
the irony! you posted this just as i was working on my power glove! i finished up the wire housing and am currently working on the hand (it actually lights up and has a removable hand like the show), so to see this from one of my favorite cosplayer creators is a treat! definitely gonna make for good entertainment as i work! keep it groovy odin!
@@OdinMakes groovy indeed! if by any chance youd like some ideas for your channel or are just look to browse; may i recommend to you the knights of sumeria fans of ash williams page on facebook? we are a group of evil dead prop builders and are looking for fellow members to keep the memory of the show alive! im sure theyd MORE than love and appreciate the DIY builds!
So cool. Some of your best work, Odin. Good timing also as I literally just finished watching through the entire Ash vs. Evil Dead series for the second time about a week ago.
My only thing is the top knob on the inside of the wrist lights up when the hand is on. I used a spring water bottle cap and painted it, but if I had known about the light before I started making it, I could have used the cap to put a light behind. I jumped into building my hand IMMEDIATELY after Ash was released in Dead by Daylight and I hadn't seen the movies or the show yet, and I binge watched the show while I was constructing my hand. Beautiful build, and I'll probably use this for reference when I make hand 2.0
It would be awesome if you did a tour of all the builds you have on display in your shop. Kind of an overview of the treasures in Odin's Halls as it were. Must be packed to the brim by now because your output is insane.
I went as ash for Halloween last year and I couldn't find a good metal arm tutorial so I just spray painted a glove silver , THANK YOU for making this , I'ma reattempt my costume next year ❤️
Wow, that's stage ready. Very well done! Not to dig at anything, but I think bringing out your saw is a great demonstration of how much you've improved. It's like night and day.
ODIN !! U AMAZING MAN!!! U FULLFILLED MY WISH . THANK U FOR THIS AMAZING BUILD. AWESOME WORK. AND this will go nicely with the chainsaw hand u made in diy propshop
Thats pretty damn awesome. I bet that with the blueprints for the chainsaw and hand, it could be possible for someone to make a detachable version of the hand so that the wrist section goes together with the chainsaw.
Really cool build! I wan't to cosplay Ash some day and your videos are helping alot! I haven't seen the show yet but i love the movies and my favorite is the second one.
Ash vs Evil Dead is one of my favourite shows of all time- horror and comedy being balanced perfectly on a razor’s edge is how I’d sum it up. Such a nice surprise to see this pop up in the sub box. And though its design is kinda similar to other props you’ve done in the past, Pyramid Head’s knife from Silent Hill 2 would be really cool to see tackled by you.
Hi Odin here's possibly a helpful suggestion 4 using foam sticking to leather gloves cut and almost spread out digital pattern where you want the phone to stick put dinner strip foam pieces or panels on the inside so they will both adhesive together there's probably a terminology for it I call it cement glue stitching. So far on my glove builds I haven't had any breakdowns or rips you can also spray a coating on it and on the inside White the brown shoe polish on the leather itself and on the outside it strengthens waterproof and reinforces the phone it's the can of shoe polish with the round sponge at Walmart awesome build man I love the new Builds on classic characters got to love Ash Williams.
