Appreciate all your helpful videos! Concerning the new clutch it should be said that the three positions are not there to make your clutch feel lighter or heavier. The three adjustments are to compensate for differences in stack height. Ideally the Belleville spring should be perfectly flat when the clutch is correctly installed. If it is slightly concave or convex, the different settings allow you to compensate for this and get the spring in a completely flat position. Greetings from Austria!
They are for clutch feel i just installed a new diaphragm clutch on my beta and the directions state specifically for lighter pull or heavier the three settings it's just changing the preload .. the lighter feel is awesome especially for the technical stuff !! 😅
Hi Jared, somewhat related to the new clutch. Will you be putting out an updated video on the oil pump gears for the 2022+ model year bikes? I'm going to be changing my plastic oil pump gears soon and it seems the best reference I have is your old video however I'm unsure of how different the process is. Thanks
Thanks. I just traded my ‘22 Xtrainer for a 300RR. I’m going to adjust it to the first position for a lighter clutch pull. We’ll see if I get any slippage after some use. The Xtrainer’s clutch was extremely light.
Hey guys. Thanks for putting this video together. Have you tried the other settings (1 or 3)? Do you know which one has a shorter more aggressive pull, and which one has a long easy pull?
Good Morning, if you rotate that collar to the 1 position it pushes that collar against the spring plate harder which gives the bike a harder clutch pull. If you go to the 3 position it pulls that collar away from the spring plate making it have a softer feel. Thanks for watching! Jared
Hey J, the clutch on a new to me 2023 seems to be slipping at high speeds. I opened it up and everything looks good with the clutch pack. The adjuster ring was in the II position when I took it apart. Noticed the Beta service manual shows the screw in the II position in the photo they have but in the text, It says to put the screws in the III position of the ring. Clear as mud? Guess I'll try III and see what happens, Any wisdom you have gained in the past year since making this video? Thank you.
Does it change your engagement point of the clutch? I have a 2023 300rx and I have the lever as far in toward the bar as it will go and still don’t like the engagement. It is right at the point when I start to pull the lever is where the engagement and disengagement is….. I generally like my clutch slipping point to be right as the lever is almost touching my other fingers…..
I have 2018 250rr race edition . Stupid question but is the complete clutch basket assy interchangeable between the two if I ever need to replace my basket ? Thanks
Hey Jared! Love all your helpful videos. Any downside to putting the 200rr clutch at #3 setting? Loss of clutch life? Also, noticed a squeal in 3rd gear all of a sudden going up a slight hill. Bike has 15 hrs. Not looking for repair advice, just want to see if it warrants an investigation!
Hey Jeff! Thanks for watching our videos, much appreciated! I would only recommend going in the stiffer direction. If you move the ring so it applies less pressure on the plates I seem to have issues with the clutch pumping up and not working correctly. Not sure about a squeal that is rather odd, especially only in one gear. Have you changed the gear oil at all to inspect it? Thanks, Jared
@@3SeasRecreation Thanks for the reply. Oil looks good. No debris worth mention. It happened twice while feathering up a hill in 3rd. I'll leave the plate as is. 👍
Thanks Jared, you make really cool vids ! quick question, from what you saw do you think its possible to install a new clutch on the 2021 with obvious part replacement? or a maybe a combination of a 2022 Recklus Manual clutch and some 2022 Beta parts?
Thanks for watching our videos! Much appreciated. I would have to determine if the engine shaft that holds the clutch is the same. I think all the gears off the end of the crank would mesh properly and the clutch cover is the same so it should fit. You would most likely have to purchase a new push rod that goes from the slave cylinder over to the clutch basket as well. Thanks, Jared
On the 4 strokes, is it possible to adjust the diaphragm clutch without taking the whole case cover off? Can we just take off the one covering the clutch itself? And if so, how easy is it to save that gasket?
Good afternoon, yep you can take off just the outer clutch cover. This one just happened to be off to install a kick start kit. Your gasket should be fine as its an ORing style gasket not a paper one. BUT its never a bad idea to have a spare!
@@3SeasRecreation Awesome thanks! One more question - is it possible to remove that cover without draining the oil - leaning the bike over or something if needed?
Does the 2023 200RR have the diaphragm clutch? I’ve looked around online and some people say it does and some say it does not. Beta’s website says it doesn’t but not sure if that’s updated for the US.
Good Evening, nope this still has the standard spring clutch. I just installed two kick start kits on brand new 2023 Beta 200's this week. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Jared, do you anticipate Beta engineers to add the diaphragm clutch to the 200RR models, maybe 2025? 2024 still doesn't have it. Wondering if I should wait a year.
Yes it will! They make a complete kit to update your clutch. If you live in the USA we offer discounts and usually free shipping depending on the dollar amount! Give us a call (716) 753-2628 Thanks, Jared

hi Jared - I have 23 Beta390RR race edition and last ride the clutch slave started making creaking binding sounds. With the motor off it sounds like the piston is sticking and and releasing 4-5 times as you pull the clutch in. With the motor running, which is how i noticed it, you just feel slight spikes as you squeeze the leaver . like you have a cable clutch that's got a rusty cable. have you seen this before ? James th-cam.com/video/Ti1iZeWdpCk/w-d-xo.html I greased and inspected the master, pivot, pushrod, spring, looks fine. I pulled the slave cylinder off the case and it looks normal, functions fine under finger pressure, but still squeaks under the weight of the clutch springs
Good Morning, that is pretty odd and I have not seen that. I would recommend a new slave cylinder assembly. They do sell them as a plug and play kit. We are glad to help with Beta parts if you don't have a local dealer. Enjoy the ride, Jared
