    Appreciate this video, helped me change the seal on my Xtrainer. I used a 29mm deep socket to gently tap the new seal on. Good idea to put a new circlip on when doing this ona. 2 stroke.

      You're not alone. I've tried several times with new countershaft seals to get this kit to work. I even have a tool for making the seal absolutely flush and not pressed into the case too far. But a .045 inch gap exists behind the bushing and seal surface each time. The bush cannot press further onto the shaft because the O-ring in back stops it.
      It seems like the counter shaft seal must sit proud of the case instead. It's what I'm trying next. But removing the seal ruins it each time... Trying to find just the seals.

    I have a 2018 beta xtrainer that I’m constantly having to replace the countershaft oring. I tried a thicker oring but it still leaks after a few rides. Will this upgrade help fix that?

    I've got a CRF250r 2006 and it's leaking alittle oil over the front sprocket , I ordered the counter shaft seal but should I get the spacer sleeve and O-ring as well to do it all or should just the seal be fine ? This is my first bike and Honda won't sell the kit for it, So I needed to Know each part to get it OEM .

    I’ve got a 24’ Beta Race 300. I’ve spent over 200$ in countershaft seals in 60 hours of owning it. This is getting ridiculous. Seal replacements fail within an hour of the first ride after replacement. I’ve tried new front sprockets and tried seating the seal in different depths. Nothing stops it from leaking. Any tips? I had a yz250 for 400 hours and the countershaft seals lasted about 40 / 50 hrs before leaking. What’s up with this beta seal lasting about 30 minutes?

    2024 300RR, I installed the seal flush, then slipped on the oring, and when I put in the spacer it was hard to fit all the way against the seal. I tapped it a little but didn't move much, so I stopped concerned something was not correct. Should I continue to tap till it goes all the way against the seal?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, I usually use some grease to help the spacer slide inside of the outer countershaft seal. Other than that they should fit pretty easily.. Not sure the issue there, maybe have a friend with another point of view have a look, sometimes that helps! Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    Is this an upgrade for older bikes at the appropriate service interval or does this come on the new models?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Evening, this is an upgraded kit that does not come stock even on the 2022 models. It is something that I would recommend doing after a few seasons, maybe after your 2nd front sprocket or so. It seems the stock collars get some wear and this is an inexpensive and easy to install kit. Thanks for watching! If you ever need beta parts consider giving us a call I would be glad to help! Great video. So here’s my question. I have an 18 X trainer and it seems like I have to replace this countershaft seal every 500 miles which is dog crap. As far as I know I’m installing it correctly but I was wondering which part actually stops the oil? Is it the O-ring or is it the actual seal? I read somewhere that if there’s still a leak I could go with a fatter O-ring. What do you think?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning! Thanks for the comment, my suggestion would be to make sure the countershaft itself is not scraped or nicked which could be prematurely wearing out the seal. Have you tried this upgraded seal kit? If you live within the USA we can offer drop shipping right from Beta on parts/ accessories and DISCOUNTS as well! Feel free to reach out with questions! Thanks, Jared

    • @selophane43

      @@3SeasRecreation so what I found out is that I’m installing the seal too deep into the engine casing and not leaving it flush with the outside. The little lip on the spacer is not seated in between the lips of the seal. I wish I knew that along time ago. Thanks for replying. Peace.

      In the woods that we have here in WNY I enjoy the standard RR engine, if we were down south in the sand or the elevation out west I would enjoy the RX engine. If we are riding motocross I enjoy the RX for sure and we do ride that quite often. It's really a toss up, you can make both bikes work good for you it's just trying to find one! Thanks, Jared

    what kind of loctite do you use? what kind of torque wrench do you have?

    • @3SeasRecreation

      I would recommend using the blue loctite, the red is way to strong and makes it hard to come out. As far as torque wrench, I would just pick up a reliable brand that works for the range you need.
