    Agreed on most points but dielectric… it’s silicone an insulator. I much prefer fluid film as we’re just trying to keep moisture away from the metals prevent corrosion a spray can of fluid film will allow you to keep all connections clipped together. Do you just spray the backside of the connectors fluid film? also works great as an anti-seize and it’s a lot less messy antisieze gets thick and chunky after a while. The other thing with a brand new bike, there’s no reason to ditch your initial fill of oil‘s drain it into a clean container like a ratio right cup verify, volume and reuse. This will be discarded soon enough anyway might as well not waste it.

    I'm a firm believer in grease on the air filter. On my 2016 300 the filter retaining hook rivets broke. The grease held the airfilter in place and no dirt got into the engine. I dodged a bullet on that one for sure.

    I’ve been a Honda CRF guy most of my life, both 2 and 4 strokes. I’m 65 and still enjoy woods riding but the weight and stiffness of the Hondas was just getting hard to handle. I recently purchased a 2023 BETA Cross-Trainer. Lightweight and nimble …I have to say riding the Cross-Trainer is so so much more enjoyable. I love the Beta and I really didn’t expect it to be this good. Well done BETA!
    Anyway, my dilemma, the X-Trainer is strictly going to be a woods bike, so I am removing some of the unnecessary functions. I’ve removed the head light/turn signal switch, however I would still like to maintain the always-on high beam headlight function. Based on a review of the manual and several you-tube recommendations, I tried placing a jumper wire between the dark blue (Bl) power and pink (Ro) high beam electrical connector. When I do that the bike wont start. Any ideas?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for checking out our channel! Pumped to hear your Beta story and your lucky to already have a 2023 Trainer! We just need to keep getting more people on the bikes and they will find the same success! There should be NO connection between the headlight switch and the bike not starting.. In fact I put a still shot in this video showing how we jumped it with a simple wire and that still shot was done on a 2022 XTrainer. What if you tried to jump between the Dark Blue and the Light Blue (low beam). Enjoy the ride, Jared

    Hey Jared, really like all your videos as I'm diving into my Beta. Question on Idle... when it's cold out 40 or below, my bike has a hard time staying running without holding the throttle for a few seconds. (20-30 sec) any advise on that? is there a cold start adjustment that can be done? Going to be hard to set the stepper motor if I have to give it throttle. TIA!

      The race edition has all the same features except the trail tech voyager. I have never tired to install a trail tech on a race edition. Seems like there are a ton of wires to send places.. I'm interested in a beta 350. But my only concern is that all I hear and read threads on how bad the electrical system is. If spending $12k on a bike, it's a hard decision if buying a bike that won't last..

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning, we have been selling Beta motorcycles for 12+ years and rarely see an electrical issue. I think if you purchase the bike it's a good idea to go through it and diametric grease things but other than that we have had minimal issues. Enjoy the ride, Jared

    • @kcatfish9203
      @kcatfish9203 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a rare issue that I had. You have to go through the whole wiring harness and solder the cold crimps or at least check the crimps for loose wires. The other possible issue is the regulator rectifier needs to be replaced with an aftermarket MOSFET. This will get you 13v+ on your charging system. This was all fixed with the 2020 and up models as far as I know. I have a 2019 rrs. At the end of the day I think I could have just gotten the aftermarket Reg/rectifier and been ok which is an easy plug in and go mod.

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for checking out our channel! No issue at all with bike on high beam! I usually never had the stock computer on my bikes so I always add a secondary Hour meter. • @0danfinn
      @0danfinn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@3SeasRecreation thanks Jared! One last quick question, do you still think the full time high beam plus a fan would be an issue? I’ve heard some bikes aren’t able to run the light and the fan at the same time and you can end up draining the battery. Maybe this is more of an issue with the aftermarket LED headlight upgrades?

  • @babar69110
    @babar69110 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Common mistake is to be confused by grease uses... Dieletric grease is NOT a contact grease, it prevents corrosion as it repels water. So : 1/ clean contacts using electronic contact spray then : 2 / put dielectric grease around connected plugs, especially in the hoses of plugs from where come the wires.
    Best contact can be done with little graphite out on each contact plate... With this method I came from the usual 13.9v charge on 19rr using the optionnal charging wire kit to a solid 14.3 volts without any moseft new reg rec. Keep the good work, thanks for your videos :)

      @@l.steveguajardo8633 late answer... for contact cleaner, any electronic shop ( or automtive one) will sell it. dielectric grease, you can use any industrial grease as long as there is no "metal additive" in it... but even, i tested a lot and still didn't find any short cut or draining current....
