In Japan Toyota are rated higher than BMW and Nissan are considered the cheap end of the car range I've been to Toyota and they have incredible build quality and very low defect levels
We have a 1.8 hybrid C-HR who comes after gen 1 Juke (1.6 petrol CVT). I love the new Juke look, but the small 1.2 is not as refined and efficient as the Toyota hybrid, interior looks a bit more fresh on the Juke but offers less space on the rear. And the C-HR ages very well and is very reliable, so we'll keep the C-HR.
You all prolly dont care but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I love any help you can give me
@Eliseo Emery i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
My wife and I ( I mean I) are seriously considering the C-HR. I think the design is absolutely amazing. Yes the blind spot and rear view may not be great but I think that one gets used to it. Another small issue is the lack of boot space due to the battery placement. Yes that may come in handy on the rare occasion but more space is definitely of more use. Strange there’s no rear AC or charging units but that can easily be fixed with a double charging port in the middle hand rest compartment and putting the vents towards the center. I don’t mind the smaller windows and quite like the tinted aspect. The cabin looks awesome and design is very sleek. However I think the 8inch monitor should have been lowered a bit to give more view out of the windscreen. All in all I think I feel for the C-HR at first site and it’s hasn’t disappointed. It’s just the wife will have to agree on the fact that the 2.0 litre version is a much better choice for that extra umph on the motorway. Shame they didn’t lower their price point but for a compact SUV that is made by the most reliable manufacturers I don’t think you can go wrong.
Great presentation, as always I might add! Well I casted my vote on Nissan’s proposal, albeit I have to wait till September due to COVID lockdown.. thanks for keeping us updated!
I would choose the Nissan Juke as I have been driving nissan cars since 1994 but I think Nissan has messed up with the engine aspect of it. It is good around town but as soon as you enter a faster road, it struggles to keep up with the traffic. I had it for a weekend to test it out, it's a shame as the car is a great car but if I had to choose between the CH-R and the Juke, I would have to choose the CH-R as the engine and the engine choice is much better.
I agree with you, would happily upgrade to a newer juke if they updated the engine. Really like the updated technology but I'd miss the 214hp and 4wd I have with the nismo rs
I had a Juke here in the US (New York City) and the engine was a 1.8 liter (turbocharged) producing 188 HP. What happened? The Juke you’re showing, albeit in Europe, pales in comparison!
I also of course would have wanted to test Juke with bigger engine but as tested over 20 cars lately I ended up to buy new Juke N-design with Adaptive cruise-pack and automatic box of course! For sure with little smaller engine it saves some of ur money and is anyway adequate and after compared with other cars I preferred to take this engine as now i got better and more stylish equipement :). Btw, anway Juke´s engine still "won" many cars with 140hp engines in driving feel. Of course there were many good cars of this level. Now I'm waiting my new Juke to arrive in couple of months!
I appreciate the effort done by Toyota for the CHR, but the problem lately i'm seeing with Toyotas is their skyhigh price.. I have no doubt about their reliability though :) - for Nissan I see a lot of Renault in them which honestly puts me off.. that's why lately I'm more interested in Korean / Honda / Suzuki offerings :)
If I didn't mention it here (sorry if I haven't) it's in the full reviews for each of the cars. I assume you mean real-life, rather than instant fuel consumption.
after Qashqai I changed to CHR 1.8 Hybrid. I still like the Nissan design, but can´t understand, why they not offer the Hybrid or E-Power unit in Europe. I´ll never buy a 3 zylinder 1.0 turbo engine, sorry Nissan.
Neither of those eccentric and impractical cars could tempt me, but the Toyota, with its abysmal visibility, is the very last car I would ever consider!
It's a camera-based system, which reads basic traffic signs, like speed limits and road types, and displays appropriate information for the driver to be aware of the situation. Sometimes you may not notice a speed limit or pass so many different ones that you simply forget, which is the current one. This also includes road type information like dual carriageway vs. motorway (these are different types of roads in Poland with different speed limits), or special residential zones with lower speed limits. Additionally the system can be supplemented by data stored in the navigation maps. So even if the camera doesn't read a sign for some reason, there is backup information in the sat nav.
Is this a trick question??? The TOYOTA CHR is soooooo much more sexier looking. Love it!! We saw one on the road the other day and were like WoW! Well done Toyota! :) :)
Who at Toyota thought it would look good to put a giant tablet looking screen right on top of the dash. Looks like such an afterthought and I bet it gets in your way of visibility...
Hi Marek, nice review. I’d pick the Nissan because boot space is bigger and the cockpit looks nicer. I wish they put the 1.5 Diesel engine though. Shhh, I said diesel. Why don’t manufacturers do diesel hybrid set ups? It would be the perfect set up for me. Clean and economical in town while super frugal on long distance drives.

For me the lack of power in the Juke is a joke no pun intended. Actually it was. I think they tried to compensate with the front and price but it’s doesn’t have the fine balance that Toyota managed.
Next time just say how many % bigger/wider/shorter than the other car. It's a pain trying to do the maths while watching the video. It also lengthens the video a lot. I'm sure viewers would be able to get the official numbers elsewhere if you couldn't indicated on the video.
Mercedes is great when it comes to diesels or larger displacement petrol engines. But out of the two I'd do with the X4 any day regardless of the engine.
i like them both, but availability in the american continent makes getting a modern Juke too hard and expensive. so the CH-R would be the sane choice. given the change i think i'd get the Juke, I own a first gen one and i quite like it plus long-term repairs would be cheaper due to lack of hybrid system.
That is a lot of money for a stupid 1 liter, a definite step back from the sweet, punchy 1.6 liter MR16DDT engine that was the newest engine from Nissan a few years ago. For the price of a base Jule you can buy a MG HS Base which has 17 inch alloy, 1.5 four cylinder turbo, Mid Size SUV with 7 year warranty. for an extra $1,000 the next trim gets synthetic leathers, key-less entry, Sat Nav, rear seat recline-able, lumber support for driver, LCD/analogue dash, climate control, chrome trim, fog lights, lots of USB charge ports, Leather steering wheel and gear knob, sport metal pedals, push button start, LED tail light, indicators on mirror, rear camera, and rear sensors, Driver Safety Suite systems, DRL, Adaptive cruise all for $30,990 Australia dollars Driver away and I forgot touchscreen 10 inch infotainment. I was Shocked I could not believe it... $31K drive away price
7k more for the Toyota? I suppose that's all for the power train. It's a shame about the Nissan's engine. I mean that's a real dog. That would drive me insane. Beyond that, I think the Nissan is the nicer design and it doesn't make the rear passengers feel like they have been put into a dungeon. I would go for NEITHER of these. ;P Thanks for the review!!
Here in Europe we're pretty much forced to buy cars with small engines or hybrids, as EVs are still expensive and in short supply (even more so, as the pandemic affected battery production). Mazda is trying to go its own way offering 2.0 an 1.5 naturally aspirated engines with diesel-like compression ratio, but even they had to 'castrate' their engines, and instead of offering the best of both worlds they offer the worst of petrols and diesels.
@@MarekDrives Mazda had to castrate their engine? You mean reduce the emissions by reducing the compression? I have to say, if I was shopping in this category the CX-3 CX-30 would be high on the list to test. They have uncluttered, clean designs.
I own a 2014 Juke tekna since it was 2.5 years old, it is the worst car I've ever bought. The touch screen constantly crashes and reboots since I bought it, DAB struggles a lot I can't get half the channels my dad's BMW does, seats and plastics continuously squeak, at 27k miles the gearstick snapped inside and had to be replaced (£400) and most recently at 31k miles the rear washer jet won't operate anymore (yet to diagnose but I think maybe the pump) The new Juke looks beautiful and has some exciting tech features but I would NEVER buy a Nissan again.
@@nicotang5583 I'm still stuck with it sadly. I've fallen for the 1.6 208gti. Easy 40mpg and 200bhp, beautiful interior. Just taken on a new job that will send me 2 hours down the M1 week by week though so I'm feeling like I should just stick with my low mileage diesel, though that doesn't count got as much with Nissan I don't think.
To bold design group I would also add Citroën C3 Aircross/C4 Cactus and Peugeot 2008/3008. Neither french car has AWD/4WD or hybrid option, but has traction control system for various terrains. Design wise french has some design details who you can name it and not just splash of lines as on these Japanese cars. On the other hand these two have "reliability" image.
I'd stay away from Nissan, own a 2016 Juke, engine had to be replaced at 38K due to oil leaking at timing chain plate and compression loss.
