Just An Average Unicorn I always loved mine, makes me so sad that some people get bullied because of their hair colour, my hair was a very very unique shade of ginger it was very light; it was definitely ginger but I'm not a first generation ginger so the gene wasn't super strong, and I always had so many compliments on the unique shade. Ginger is a really lovely colour.
It really is. I love it so much, my middle child has dark, curly hair with an auburn type of tint to it and I'm so jealous! I've got mousy brown hair and so have my eldest and youngest. I love the warm undertone. Xxx

Well, thats a regular question for lots of colors, my hair was realy black, i used to be asked that a lot (at age 10!) Until it changed to a dark brown on my teen's. Now I dye it copper, a red a little closer to brown than blonde ( I don't know exactly how to call that shade in english, being Brazilian, and all) and people are always asking me if that is my natural color.

I'm scottish and both my parents carry the red hair gene and I have blonde hair with red undertones (which sometimes looks ginger in the sun) and I remember a complete stranger came up to me and had a full on argument with me about how they could tell I'm not a natural blonde because they can see the ginger coming through. The police were called by a someone near by because this complete stranger was trying to fight me .I was 12 then, I'm almost 18 now i still have nightmares

No it wouldn't! It is a mistake to tell people not to say anything because it would offend or make uncomfortable anybody else. There will always be something in your life that you will get ignorant comments about, and life is the process of building yourself with adversity, not staying permanently shielded from it.
When I was little people would ask me if I was born like that as if it wasn’t normal. I also got bullied for wearing hats because I could easily get cancer. Today all I have to say is i’m happy with my hair because that’s what makes me unique :)

As a teen I wished I was ginger so bad that I regularly dyed my hair from the darkest brown possible to all kinds of red. To be fair I also went pink, purple, green (tried to go blue but couldn't lighten my hair enough), and whatever combination of those I was feeling at the time.

I told them my natural hair color was brown and they started to buy it, but still refused to believe me. Then a teacher told them to stop arguing and if they really want to know then look at my eyebrows.

I was never bullied for having red hair, but it has gotten me into so many situations where I’ve received unwanted attention from people, particularly older adults and elderly women who give me compliments at very unideal times. This results in me withdrawing into myself and feeling awkward as hell.
Seriously, the whole compliment thing is cute when you are a little kid, but not as a young adult who is in college.
Accept the compliments while you get them, when they stop is the time to get worried.
I'm relating so hard with that "Factor 50 sunscreen and parasol" comment. I have to do both as well. The parasol is absolutely necessary, especially in Australia.

I have ginger hair and when I was a child I thought I was going to be bullied but ends up that everyone I met told me (and even now, that my hair is darker than before) that it was beautiful and they were jealous. Idk why other ppl is bullied for being really special and beautiful.
