    The extra top pad is a GREAT idea, especially in contrast to just built in a fixed overly big top pad! So many helmets suffer entirely needless mushroom head syndroms. I will never understand how they can put so much Energie in bildung low profile helmets and the ruin it all for the sake of in most cases unwanted exzessive sponge foam in the top pad.

    Great looking helmet. Was looking for a new lid for my xt500 build. Thanks for an excellent review

    Watched this & confirmed my head size. I ordered a medium. Seemed so tight! Returning for a large. Did the cheek pads squeeze your jawline? My last question is does the X70 interior padding interchangeable in the x101? Thanks in Advance!

    Very nice helmet indeed. I take it the AGV peak will fit the Shoei Ex Zero? I’m keen on the vents the AGV peak has to prevent drag somewhat.

      I just tried it and yes indeed it does fit. It actually looks really good on my Ex Zero as its gloss black and matched the helmet!

      @@mancavemoto Excellent. I'll be purchasing one for my white Ex Zero. Thank you

    Great review! Thanks! So I was amazed at the increase Field of View I got going from my HJC 70 to my Icon Airflight. I never need to lower my head to see the Speedo on my bike with the Icon… will this be even more if that FOV Joy!? Last.. I live in Scotland the land of bugs! What part of your face is left exposed to bugs with this helmet and proper goggles? Thanks again! :)

      Glad it was helpful! Efeectively with goggles on it just your nose that is exposed.

    any preference for the x101, vs bell moto 3 vs the shoei ex zero. i see the shoei has a drop down visor, but my thoughts are most of this style of helmet needs goggles.. reviews all seem similar... ? any way thanks from down under..

      Hi Murray, not a lot of difference, but the Shoei does feel the most ‘solid’ of the three. The drop down visor is useful, but it’s all about fit. The ex zero fits me the best out of all of them, so that would obviously be my pick

    I ride a dual sport, and I looking at this helmet. How would you rate the heat, since I live in a desert, I'm trying to find a cool helmet. I don't even know if that's possible going off road speeds, and the terrain I have to fight. I was also looking at the icon variant, thoughts?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theres so much air flow through this I don't think heat will be a problem. The Bell MX9 Adventure is also a very well ventilated, if a little noisy, helmet option.

    I’ve got one discounted so much I thought it was fake 😅
    The only size in stock was my size which is Large. From £289 to £161. What a treat it was, the only downside is that now after 6 months of daily use, it became a bit loose and the double D rings are equal size which is a bit annoying to be fair. Overall good helmet for the money.

      Thats a bit of a bargain. Its a helmet that seems to have been overlooked by a lot retro fans?

    • @danscram
      @danscram ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mancavemoto it really is overlooked, probably because of the long chin bar sticking out to much. All of that suede interior, plush and comfy needs to be tried
      It would be nice to test helmets before buying

    What size is your Gold Top jacket?

  • @tdmtam
    @tdmtam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You say it is shaped like Shoei but what is the sizing like. I am a medium in Shoei but when I tried a Bell Moto3 in medium it was far to small.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s rounder than a Shoei, and if anything will feel a little bigger if your Shoei is a good fit
