He knew OP hated Sally and her parents for all that happened over the years. He also knew OP would do whatever she could to protect her sister, especially with her being pregnant.
One of my biggest wishes in life is to raise my future children correctly, from teaching them how to behave to how they should be treated by others, with no favouritism whatsoever, until they become a fully mature adults that respect others and receive respect from others.

It’s so easy for people online to say “cut them off” bc we aren’t living it, but realistically, the parents are probably getting old, and I don’t think at least trying to mend a relationship before they go is the absolute worst idea. It depends on the person and how deep the emotional trauma actually goes, we never know those extents just through text, but it is closure that she should be able to consider if she wants to. She’s an adult, she knows them, so she knows what to look out for better than we do.
I think in op's place, I would pity my parents too much to remain no contact after they went so far as to kick Sally out. I imagine that they'll never be close. But some contact is better than none-plus, the older daughters sounds like they'll have really good boundaries. (And if those boundaries get violated Adam will COOK)
