use it on alarak when he goes to discord strike you too, it's super obvious when he's going to do it, you can cancel it as soon as the blow hits without needing to even move and it makes me happy imagining him getting pissed off thinking the game just didn't register
TL,DR: You can use entomb like a force wall. slow with Q to hit W easier. Use your E for safe body block. Be smart with your crits and AOE for better wave clear.
another tip is to try and time your Q to hit when the enemy laner is standing close to the minion wave since your Q gets half the cooldown and mana refunded when hitting heroes. this gets you the entire wave cleared free of cost while also bullying the laner out like you mentioned. also wanna mention as a GM leoric main myself, this video was explained very well and i even learned a couple things, cheers friend :D
You need to go over Leoric's abilities when he's dead, since most Leoric players tend to use these abilities much more often than the abilities when they're alive!
By the way, Level 16 talent says "For each enemy hit by skeletal swing", you can wraith walk, end it and then skeletal swing hitting 2 people and reduce the cooldown to 0.
This is a really good video. The W after Q is a great tip, not to mention explaining a build that can make a huge difference in 5v5 team fights. The only major mistake I see not mentioned, is Leoric players having the tendency to take too much damage on the frontline and dying for nothing, especially during objectives, since they can "lurk" around and resurrect.
imo spec'ing him for waveclear is risky because if you need to carry with him it is better to sacrifice some waveclear and make your Q and AA better for healing. Skeletal mace healing plus auto healing and auto attack speed and march of the dead make it so that all but one of his attacks can heal him. this allows him to completely dominate a team with 2+ melee but he also can chase down and slow escaping assassins. he can also show up somewhere that his potato teammates should be rotating to and start fighting before they get there to draw their attention and essentially 1v3 for quite some time while teammates get their head out of their ass. if he builds for team fight he can actually top every stat on his team including soak
When being ganked. I love to trow out my q w combo before going into wraiht. Also try to be unpredictable with going back to your hody. If you channel is to full duratio, you are predictable. And thus an easy target
Amazing tips! Here are mine. 1. I advice to use Wraith Walk when you need to switch lane or go somewhere quick, of course if you are sure you won't need it badly in 14 seconds. It's almost like Yrel's instant mount. 2. I pick +15% damage and reduced CD on Drain Hope when I'm on Volskaya or versus Dragon Knight. 3. I pick 2.5% hp bonus damage on 20 when I either need more sustain or they have 2 fat heroes or 3 melee heroes. Volskaya and Dragon Knight maps count too! 4. When I'm sure I can't be AAing too much, I tend to pick Burning Rage on lvl 20. Makes squishy goddamn Hanzos, Jainas etc. suffer. :) Also helps vs Zagaras and stealth heroes. 5. I love increased AA speed at 16. Pick it when I'm 100% sure I'm gonna pick Life Leech at 20. Or when I need even more waveclear or clearing shrines. 6. Always pick increased range at 7 to keep my W on enemies and also bully or scare ranged enemies. Synergises really well with Burning Rage at 20! 7. I always pick healing off dead minions. Don't forget you heal even when YOUR minions die! I heal even when I'm losing the lane, lol! Imho, this talent is crucial. You fight, get low hp, run away, go to minions, heal and get mana, come back. It also helps a ton when you are running away. So delightful to run away from Nova just passing by dying minions and getting healed just enough to survive her chase! :) I only pick healing on Q on the Battle Of Eternity. Never pick 30% healing with globes. 8. March is good sometimes. Like when you have Mayev with the R cage.
those are playstyle preferences and you seem to play to lose the obj on volskaya and dragon shire, also %damage has a cap and does not actually drain 20% of vehicles

Talent and strategy choices depend on whether you lose for the first several minutes, hold your ground or just stomp enemies. Maybe it doesn't do 20% off vehicles, but it seems 15% burst works just right. What is the cap, by the way? I think life leech works properly VS vehicles.
What I'm always impressed about Leo is how SIMPLE yet how right/effective his kit feels and overall his gameplay.. I mean he felt "bland" too "specific" and kinda boring tbh, and then all (well mostly all) Blizz rework did is give him Crit on every 3rd auto.. Guess what = worked like a charm lol :D
1. Does "Fealty Unto Death" works in Infernal Shrines when those small minions die? 2. And more important, does "Ominous Wraith" reduces the damage of the dragon in Dragon Shire and the damage of the robot in Volskaya Foundry?
Fealty unto death only works on minions. Anything that isn't a lane minion is either a monster (ie immortal shrines objective lil guys) or mercenaries. So I assume not
Yup I really like entomb more than March it give leoric something that he lacks some form off cc to set up kills or peel or even sometimes just zoning and at level 20 you have 3 sec silence On 50 Cooldown that can win you the game if you trapped at least 2 heroes
You didn't even talk about the Mithril Mace + Leach Life talents????? For those that don't know, Mithril Mace complete with Leach Life at 20 makes nearly any melee hero lose a 1v1 against Leoric, in fact, if the enemy is bad at kiting, you can sometimes even get 2 or 3 enemy heroes at a time with the potential heal back from these 2 talents alone. Leoric also becomes a really powerful win condition, he can sit right on the core while he's dead and when he respawns he can immediately start pressuring it and chunking it really hard. The enemy team is forced to go back and deal with him if they're not on your core by that time. Leoric is for sure one of those heroes that wins games if he hits 20.
There's a reason why he didn't talk about it tbh, reducing enemy dps by 50% for 4 sec and having that up almost all the time is priceless compared to you becoming a lean mean killing machine :P I get the point, in fact I actually prefer the W cd reduction along with the crit of W, that way you become even more of a threat not even need to auto others in order to gain value, BUT, there's simply that = the E dps reduction is just far far far too effective to pass on.. Sometimes I think that talent should get nerfed tbh, not too much but start as 40% instead of 50%, should give some "leverage" to more talents to get picked imo
You and your team should be focusing whoever they can kill and whoever is offsides, not specific heroes, sure a heavy dive on a healer or strong DPS can make a team fight easier, but it's not always going to work, sometimes it's best to dive the tank or bruiser simply because it's a kill your team can secure. Think of it like football, whoever is closest to your team, that's the guy with the ball, your team should tackle him, not their backline. If you try this, I promise you will have more consistent results than shouting at your team to split away and dive backline or a specific hero within a 5/4 man. At the higher levels of HotS, telling your team to dive backline just gets you laughed at, you'll get told to uninstall and go back to LoL.
There should never be a 'aim this person' scenario. Hit whoever you CAN kill, if the tank is in a better position for you to target; target them. If the support is in a better position for you to target; target them. Anyone out of position should be punished. If you blindly focus the support, you will lose if they have proper positioning If you blindly focus the tank, you will lose if they have proper positioning Never 'aim' specific people. This is bronze mentality.
@Corpsefoot Gaming Yes I know, but what I have to play with is each player focusing on a different heroe and non of them understand how to soak and gain lane controll or experience...even chasing an enemy heroe, like I see that all the time that they chase for 30secs and get killed in the end and it's just eye cancer.
1. i honestly can't believe people would actually just throw out drain without any hit confirm unless they are new to mobas prehaps, but even then they can put 2 and 2 together 2. you should almost never go the heal at 7 regardless of build with the exception of offlaners that has no way to avoid full drains such as varian or arthas, otherwise both the range and mov speed will help you to actually get a full drain 99% of the time 3. something that you were not mentioning is using ghost form for hearthing and scouting, most people will just drain from people who are in lane and not really get any relevant information around the map, alternative what you can do is scout bushes and camps, and if your death timer is running out you can always hearth back to base in ghost form for a teleport so you don't int as soon as you respawn in case enemies are chasing

I mean normally I would say something like "cough cough highest win rate and popularity on hotslogs (52%) and highest winrate in pro play (72%)" But I think these talents are more situational than that. I just gave the talents I prefer. If you prefer something else at 7 take it. I find if I slow, I land my full drain without those level 7s and if I am going entomb lock someone, the extra healing reduces the chance I die while bodyblocking the entomb. Hey Paradox! Great video as always. Could you give some tips on Kael'thas? Especially after the rework? I'm kinda confused which build would be know considered meta build.
the meta build is mana barrier, nether winds, spellpower, phoenix, pyromaniac, ignite/fury of the sunwell, flamethrower in the earlygame you want to look to clear waves with q d w, put q in the middle so it hits all minions and trait your living bomb on the globe minion and you should almost have a full clear without using much mana in fights you want to look to follow up on your tanks engage with D E Q W because a 1.5 sec stun that hits multiple people is ult level strong when in poke fights, empower living bomb to save mana basically 0 reason to do D Q since you shouldn't be using it without hit confirm anyways, only exceptions are at 20 with long range flamethrowers or fury of the sunwell and you are too lazy to do an efficient clear
@@HimariHimatsu I mostly follow what you've said. Although I choose Energy Roil instead of nether wind as the stun cdr is brutal. The main question is: when should I go Ignite and when Fury of the sunwell? Also the single target damage rotation slightly differs when one goes Ignite, doesnt it?

Same problem with targeted abilites such as Lt Morales Q, I feel like I used them but it is not the case so my allies die more often than theyqui should. It might look funny, but are there any tips to solve this issue?
Hi NotParadox. I have played a lot of Falstad recently. I have nearly 70% win rate on him. But I still dont know when to go AA build and when to go w build. I would like to know when to choose mighty gust, because i prefer other ultimate. Good video i will buy Leoric next time :)
Mighty gust is the default pick tbh. Hinterland blast has more niche uses largely due to the long windup time its pretty easy to dodge. So Hinterland works to combo with lockdown (big slows roots stuns) Or if you can use it in some narrow space like a chokepoint where the room to dodge is very limited. Atleast thats what I think. But I'm some nobody on youtube.
@@mwperk02 You are right, but i i choose hintering blast into Leorics entomg, E.T.C mosh pit, Diablos apocalypse... I think there are many wariors with good CC. I will try to play more migty gust. I stole a boss few times with it.
very often aa build, w if the map is very macro focused like sky temple or very rarely dragon shire hinterlands blast when you are going all in and don't want to save your whole team from dying/setting up big plays
in some instances it is the correct ult to go, very often in higher levels of play tychus is a hard counter to leoric during fights so being able to quickly heal up is very powerful
Yeah if you don't have enough burst to blow someone up the heal could sometimes be better. You can probably always find something good to do with tomb if you're good enough at using it though, hard to call it a bad pick.
March is great for team fight damage and heal though, and At 20 it has a godlike talent that synergises with level 7 and 13/16; if you go down that route. it’s very satisfying seeing all those 15% crit dAmage
March is a good choice when you need the extra surviability/CC immunity and the ennemy team needs to clump up for heals (exemple : Brightwing, Auriel, ...). It can also counter plays on some maps like Towers of Doom when you got a Falstad and Brightwing pushing you into tower range while punishing them for doing so.
@@stephenkellett7836 illidan has less utility, less waveclear, less gank immunity, the only real upsides illidan has is the ability to splitsoak with a global

Two years after this video came out, we have discovered the 6th mistake people make as Leoric:
Picking Entomb when up against Hogger.

When your team is running away and enemy is chasing, E behind them and use entomb, while you will probably die, you can avoid teamwipe.

So Hinterland works to combo with lockdown (big slows roots stuns) Or if you can use it in some narrow space like a chokepoint where the room to dodge is very limited. Atleast thats what I think. But I'm some nobody on youtube.
@@mwperk02 You are right, but i i choose hintering blast into Leorics entomg, E.T.C mosh pit, Diablos apocalypse... I think there are many wariors with good CC. I will try to play more migty gust. I stole a boss few times with it.

it's nothing special really, just double soak and spook the enemy team in fights, look for entomb on either a frontline or a support

How do yo show the spell ranges before casting?!
mouse over them in your hotbar, or just turn off quick casting.

because it makes you unstoppable - you can't be moved out of the way and they can't get out of the tomb.
The biggest mistake I guess is going Match of the Black king. Is such a mistake that wasn't even mention ever in the video.
in some instances it is the correct ult to go, very often in higher levels of play tychus is a hard counter to leoric during fights so being able to quickly heal up is very powerful
Yeah if you don't have enough burst to blow someone up the heal could sometimes be better. You can probably always find something good to do with tomb if you're good enough at using it though, hard to call it a bad pick.
March is great for team fight damage and heal though, and At 20 it has a godlike talent that synergises with level 7 and 13/16; if you go down that route. it’s very satisfying seeing all those 15% crit dAmage
March is a good choice when you need the extra surviability/CC immunity and the ennemy team needs to clump up for heals (exemple : Brightwing, Auriel, ...). It can also counter plays on some maps like Towers of Doom when you got a Falstad and Brightwing pushing you into tower range while punishing them for doing so.
First mistake people make is picking Leoric
leo is a great hero, arguably the best offlaner in the game, people just has no idea how to build or play him
