Yeah the roots are easy to dodge. When you have abilities that are easy to dodge often you use them as zoning tools or as follow-up to cc otherwise they just walk away lol. Additionally Anduins root is much easier to land on a point blank target which is helpful if someone dives you.
I spent about three years working my way out of bronze 1 using various heroes. About halfway through my journey, I discovered the amazing hero that was/is Leoric, and since then, the climb has been a little easier. As of today, I am Gold 3 with a lvl 107 Leoric. Thanks for the video, NotParadox. It provides me with the selfish validation I need for main-ing such a niche and situational bruiser. :)
Improved so much since I started watching you man.. Especially with the mechanics you have explained in your previous videos. (Impact & mentality) Now I've been avoiding meaningless fights in the middle.
@@lCoolPartner I just figured out today, best way to prevent mid fights (if there is no quest to stack) is to go for the lane and throw few warning pings or write down "dont 4v5 in mid". They just scatter eventually. Worked out in plat division xD
Sorry Paradox ! Im main tank and i spent half video checking this ETC position and paid more attention to how he plays than what you say. I think this guy is godlike.
You've got great insight, my man, but you really really need to SHOW US THE TALENTS and explain them. It's literally the most important part of the video. Talking about why you took them later feels shitty, we want to see them in action with the knowledge of why you took it and what it does.
I played a ranked game on this map with some friends, and my tank called boss 3 times in a row. Every single time we tried to do boss, 2 of the times half the team wasn't there for the boss, it turned sour. Once we finally started playing safe and waited for the enemy to slip up instead of trying to make plays ourselves, we dominated. Never try to sneak something when there's a very good chance it'll go horribly if the enemy gets even a smidgen of an idea you're doing it. Just play safe and wait for someone on the enemy team to make that kind of decision.
a thought: If the Raynor is dominating your solo lane, if you take the talent that heals for minion deaths & the minion damage Q talent he wouldn't be able to dominate the solo -- you let him kill your minions, walk up & blow his minions down and then wraith away and there's nothing he can do to stop you from getting the soak bc bc you're healing 7-14% doing it and have unstoppable
"Winning" a lane in HotS is not that important, compared to games like LoL or DotA. It's rather about the experience. As long as you're not getting your towers/fort kicked in, it's enough. Specifically building for early game just to dominate the lane is hardly adviced
Holycrap! What is that Dahaka build? I never wanted to play him, because I hate tanks who can't get in without getting poked to death. But that "racecar" build seems legit.
Mmm so first Imperius and now Leoric eh? Are you covering all the beefy bruiser boys now? Because it would be reaaaaally cool if you made a video for Ragnaros after such a long time... Regardless cool video.
I'm in gold. Been bouncing between gold 3 and gold 1. I'm trying to stick to this strategy, but a lot of my games are seriously close to over before 16 and after mithril mace comes online
Are you doing this solo? Or with teammates? The issue I run into is that I can do OK in a match, but the random teammates will have 10-15 deaths each, and I'm just not sure of how to get ahead with that.
What do you think about „fealty unto death“ at lvl 1? I play in silver1/gold5 and i sit most of the time in sololane try to catching up all the soak my team is missing
Fealty is Best for maps where you're always in lane like dragon Shire or spider tomb. Never pick it on boe, hanamura, and to a lesser extent, alterac and volksaya. On those maps the obj fights can last a while, making the talent useless. You can still pick it on the latter 2 maps, you just have to watch for breaks in the action to go to the nearby lanes for some healing. On volksaya, you should try to zone and fight at the edge of the obj, so you can quickly pick up healing from minions. Same in alterac, try to zone near lanes, though the distance from lane to obj is bigger here. When you do pick Fealty, it's best to use it as a bully talent. Always annoy the enemy solo laner, as most will have much less sustain than you. Waste their Mana/hp on trying to get you off of them, and push when they're gone, or make them waste their fountain soon before an obj. If you can't use your cleaves on the enemy+ wave, use cleaves on wave and on third hit, focus the enemy with your aa, slow, and lastly e. This will generally make you lose little, if any, hp/mana while you wittle the enemy down. Zag, rexx and Chen will be your toughest matchups in genral. You won't be able to beat zag, but if you play it smart you can equal her inlane. Bait out her e near your towers. Against rexx ideally you would want to creep up on him with a bush, quickly use your w and q and use your e to nullify his stun while you stay on him. Rexxars tend to use Misha stun in this situation in a predictable way: if Misha is far away, they'll use stun as quickly as possible so use your e when Misha gets near. Otherwise the stun will go out after 1-3 Misha attacks. With Chen, you'd want to Bait out his trait shield to then start using your w on him. Otherwise, you can just spam your w on him, get him to waste at the very least his barrel on you so his fire does less damage to wave. Just fight him near the edge of your wave or slightly away, as this will allow your aa and q to still hit the wave while his barrel would hit one minions at most. Doing so let's you ~equal him while letting your wave slowly damage the towers.
If you can't AA due to too much enemy CC, (f.e/or against Arthas) drain build can be better. It's also safer with Entomb but makes you more team dependant.
Curious NP - I haven’t played Leo too much since a few seasons ago, but I used to always go full green W build for the sustain and most importantly the game winner level 20 Sometimes I’ll go E build at 13 and 16 as well Thoughts?
Lord Thornton Eddington E build is bad unless you’re in competitive or on comms with a good team. W build power spike is level 16 but imo you NEED March of the Black King and it’s upgrade at level 20. With W build, it’s arguably the biggest power spike in the game. I typically go W build if I’m vs a Diablo/Garrosh or a double frontline who do not have a way to stop the W.
that leoric auto attack build is my favourite thing in this game..I know ppl say I should go damage reduction thingy, but I just love smacking things with huge mace
the idea is to provide guidance for the hero and the mental process for the decisions: -early on you are not strong so be mostly annoying -this is a throw, dont do it -this is a good call, be mindful to do it in time. -be aware of the enemy team's cooldowns so you can capitalize on mistakes You dont "Hard Carry" in this game, like you do on LoL, you make better decisions and put yourself at an advantageous position each step. I use to have a lot of problems with Malthael and Leoric until i got into the right mentality, then it was easy to play the hero and win games.
Well guys... u didnt listen right? Even master gms we throw as well .. 2 or 3 times and Mura did it. You wouldnt know since u are lower than diamond but learn to listen
What about raynor or greymane? Or any auto attacker I need to figure out what to bind my keys to. And so i can learn to stutter step better. Mainly like so that i attack once in range. Like when i get in and out of range of targets I suck at it. Also hyperion vs raider? I think I saw some say like if they have aa go hyperion?
1 PIng is ok man but there is nothing I hate more then pingspammers in this game even if you mean well. Its disrespectfull. Anyone who pings more then 1-2 times is getting ping muted. Most of the time these people insult you and are very toxic too. And after the game they think they did it all by themself because they pinged the entire time. Annoying and not helpfull.
I could not agree more. I really like helpful pings like 1 ping on enemy or camp for 'please help'. 1 or 2 pings for danger / gank incomin... But those pingageddons are just annoying and I always immediately ping-mute those people aswell.
Before watching this vid, I hope it’s not E build. Because outside of competitive, that build really really sucks. People describe it as “50% damage reduction so the enemy team is like 2.5 heroes” or some nonsense. But focus fire doesn’t care about 50% damage if more than 1 person is focus firing. And whilst you’re wraith walking, you’re not in the fight really.
E - Build is his most powerful build, not only in competitive, cuz if you can like E through out 3-5 enemy heroes, you ofc reduce the entire Damage they do (also AA is reduced, just Mention it) and especuially in lower ranks and UNCOORDINATED Play, you wont have that big of a Focus fire and EVEN then, their Focus fire is only half as strong, what a suprise.. But mostly they dont have big Focus fire until its a 3-5 man stack u are facing there, but still and if your Team manages to Focus some1 down, it gets easier since u can like live 50% longer in the fight cuz of it.
I don't think you did a good job this game. Your lowest in dmg on the charts for bruiser/assasin. Below you are tanks n healers so ofc your dmg is higher then them. It wasn't bad, but you could've contribute a lot more.
I feel all of these videos you do, the build you pick for the heros is always really bad. Like they are awesome builds for total scrubs. Dont get me wrong. When I heard you say Leoric isnt supposed to do damage though, that was cringe. I also gets to masters almost every ladder. Never would I build my Leoric like this. lol Mythril mace was essentially the only level where you took the best in slot skill imo.
Can we start putting the build in the description please? I watch the videos but come back for reference
I'm so glad to see a diamond/grandmaster Anduin missing so many roots... It cheers me up quite a bit
