    I own several wireless audio systems. The Comica XD Boom (2x TX and 1x RX), the Rode Wireless GO (1x TX, 1x RX) and GOii (2x TX and 1x RX), as well as the Hollyland Lark 150 (2x TR and 1x RX). All very good systems. But, they are about $150 more than the Ulanzi. The Ulanzi AM18 is quite impressive. I would be very happy with it.

    Thanks to Amazon gift cards for Christmas, I was able to purchase this at no cost to myself personally. It is such an excellent value for the price. Ulanzi really has content creators at heart, trying to give them the best option without breaking the bank.

    It's Black Friday week as I write this comment and I've just ordered a set direct from their site; £64!! I couldn't pass that by, a wireless mic system that gives me great sounding audio and INTERNAL RECORDING??!! Honestly, it was that last feature that got me to pull the trigger on the purchase, there are other budget systems at this price point that skip on the internal recording feature. Ok, so it's a little bulkier than the DJI system, but that's not a deal breaker for me. No 32 bit float, but honestly, I wouldn't expect that at this price point. To get this audio capability at well under £100 was already a steal, but to get it for under £70 almost feels like theft!! 😂

    I've got the little j12 mic. Much less feature rich but does the job. If they had the AM18 at the time I would have likely purchased it. Lot's of bang for the buck.

    Good Review Mate .... I have several sets of wireless mics including the new DJI Mic 2, but that said these sound very good especially for the price ..... I think I will get these as well - you can never have enough backups

    Great video very well explained. As a newbie to video editing may I ask if you plug the receiver into your camera (S5ii) will the audio be synced ( baked into) to the video, thus not having to do anything in post? Thanks again Sub added.

    For the cheap price, I thought it would be a crappy microphone with lots of bugs. But all reviews I've seen so far proves that this microphone is actually good.

    Great review! I have one on order already and looking forward to receiving it. One question: if I'm shooting a one plus one interview, and I want the individual audio to be on separate tracks, I suppose that the receiver should be in stereo mode, but is there a way to tell it which mic is going where?

    • @TheCameraManReviews
      @TheCameraManReviews  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, on the receiver you can monitor which microphone is which, plus you could also record internally to either mic as a back up. 🙂

    If you switch on internal recording will it still record audio onto your camera? In other words internal recording becomes a back up.

    Hi Must be plain thick, I have Dji mic2, and it works with my iphone, but no idea how to retrieve internal recorded files etc, no instructions anywhere, and it doesnt appear in Windows Explorer. I also bout Ulanzi AM18, and same problem there and no info or operating instruction on internal retrieving to laptop,. Any idea anyone ? Its NOT intuitive and needs WRITTEN instructions as am stumped at the moment with both products. The internal recording feature is very very important to me . Hope for some pointers soon......

    • @TheCameraManReviews
      @TheCameraManReviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to be sure you have enabled internal recording also on the mics, then once you plug in the mic to a PC it should open up just like a USB Flash DRIVE.

      @@TheCameraManReviews Thanks did all that, but nothing when connected to a PC. Am wondering if its OS or Windows specific, as its strange its happening with both brands .The point was making as well as wanting any help, is that there is absolutely no documentation and wasted last night using on event and no recordings can be found. Today spent 6 hrs and nobody doing reviews discuss how to use or step by step. Too distracted by distance and quality and not on each feature use IMHO

      @@xtra4u210 Ok just tried it on the Ulanzi and this is how it works my end. Take one of the MICs out the case. Then press the button above the USB-C port on the MIC. A red icon will light up on the microphone, this is to tell you that it is recording internally. RECORD your voice.
      Next, with the mic still on, plug in the MIC to a laptop or pc via the USB-C port via a USB cable into the PC. OPen up file explorer and your MIC should be listed a USB drive- open it, and all your recordings will be there. If you still having problems I will make a video tomorrow on how to do.

    • @xtra4u210
      @xtra4u210 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheCameraManReviews Thanks, but those instructions cannot be right.eg you failed to say 1) press button above VOL button to switch on first 2) pressing button you say, does nothing. if You failed to do that first, 3) LONG press needed - not explained like that - , 4) On power on green flashing light next to charging icon flashes 5) Press on button above USBC socket does NOT bring on red light on microphone icon, but the icon to the right does light up red. 6) Recorded sound - supposedly ? plugged into PC laptop using data cable. Open file Explorer, two USB drives appear checked each, and nothing there, no files, no folders, nothing. So something is wrong. If you did a video showing this simple operation, I can try your refined method. Sorry to put you to this trouble. Exactly same is happening on DJI but buttons there are more complex. Again no documentation or written instructions anywhere , unless am missing the obvious. Will ring DJI in UK tomorrow for clarification,

    Thankyou. Just to be clear, the receiver would need an adaptor to plug in to the DJI action 4 audio port?

    • @TheCameraManReviews
      @TheCameraManReviews  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, with the Action 4, the supplied USB C cable that comes with the Ulanzi Mics plugs straight into the USB C port on the reciever and into the A4, and the Mic worked straight away, Hope this helps.
      No Adapter needed.

    Today I discovered that Ulanzi equipped their transmitters with the weakest memories in the world. If you record internally and want to copy files, you'll experience speeds of 300 kbps and a maximum of 1-2 Mbps. So, you need a lot of patience. Besides this, sometimes when the audio file splits, it remains silent for 1-2 seconds. A total disappointment with this Ulanzi product.
