Nice review. This product is ideal for Scooters. Would have thought it would have be built in current scooters. My 2023 Honda Click hasn't got it. I will look locally in Bangkok. If not I'll order one online. 🙏🇹🇭

I use the Apple map for my navigation. It would be nice if Apple made a dedicated, waterproof cellphone size navigation device. This does look promising.
With this you have apple car play on your handle bars just like in your car, I don't have an apple phone but should be just as easy to use as android auto.

Yes I got it working in the end, the only thing it doesn't when conected through the device is the buton for the next song on the Cardo doesn't work anymore, you have to hit next song on the unit. But I understand that is a limitation of android auto and not of the W502
great video. Question; does this Carpuride have the 'Ghost Touch' problem that all smart phones have? rain drops cause problem when you try to operate it, and device have mind of its own and do weird things?
It didn't rain that hard when I tested it but that is a problem of all touchscreens. It's the way they work.
Nice review and thank you for the details. !! However if you feel that the mount is sturdy and premium which could be true however the device itself and its cables feel really cheap. Especially when compared to other devices on the market. I’d rather pay a bit more and get something better like the Chegee especially with their upcoming device which is compatible with the GS nav mount. However this is just my personal opinion

Very interesting device! Does it have a usb c connector or a 3.5 audio jack?
No, it has only it's own power plug to power the device up and everything else is wireless.
Just a clarification, the Goldwing does only support CarPlay but the Africa Twin and NT1100 support both CarPlay and Android Auto, though neither are wireless.
Thank you, wasn't aware the africa twin and the NT got them, but still wired in 2023 especially on a bike....

As far as I know the only difference between the 2 models is the screen size. Functionality is the same.
I use Osmand Plus with no issues.

Totul este pe baza de android auto, verifica specificațiile android auto. Eu ascultam muzica de pe Spotify.
Would you be bale to list how you did the connections between the coms system to phone and phone to the carpuride unit? I have an Android phone and it I have it connected where it detects automatically starts Android Auto and plays music through my cardo speakers but the microphone is not recognized for the voice commands. I know there is different options of Bluetooth and BT Trans so not sure if there is a specific way. I have my phone connected to the carpuride through the Bluetooth option, and then my cardo unit to the carpuride unit through the BT Trans option. From the video you mentioned when your Cardo connects it connects as GPS, do you have the phone connected directly to the Cardo unit under the Phone channel? Thanks!
The phone is conected to the carpuride unit. Unfortunately the mic for voice commands also doesn't work now, it stopped working, I don't know if Android auto was updated ori what but I'll have to play with it a bit more.
@@RideWithAlex Ok, same issue I have as well. I tried it on iPhone and the microphone works fine connecting the same way I described above. I could get the mic to work yesterday by having the phone connected to the cardo and then the cardo connected to the carpuride as GPS but volume can not be adjusted, either through the cardo or carpuride. I emailed carpuride for support so we will see if there is some update or a specific way to do it. Thanks!
If you press the mic button you don't need to say hey google. Hey google is equivalent to pressing the button
Did you unpair your Cardo from your phone and then pair it with the carpuride? I’ve installed mine on my Ducati but I haven’t paired it with my Cardo yet. My phone is currently paired to my Cardo. Not sure how to go about pairing the Cardo to the carpuride.
The cardo can pair to 2 devices. I keep it paired with my phone but when the Carpuride turns on the cardo unite recognizes it and it connects to the unit and disconnects from my phone automatically. Check the cardo instructions there's a point about connecting your cardo to a "GPS" use that method.
How does it do in the heat? Does it overheat at all?
It shouldn't over heat because all the processing is done on the phone, this is just a screen that's how Android auto works. Haven't tested it in the heat because it's still winter here.
Alex you are very hi-tech 👍💪...I think it is very smart and practical, probably the Chinese have better quality and more intelligent solutions in these gadgets than the American or the European... I would say that the Chinese should give the westerners a little brain n the westerners should open up their eyes and their ears a little to understand customers-humans like us, for example, Ram is very expensive and breaks and much worse quality, logic-intelligence simply does not go with obscenity!
It would be nice if it had a battery
I use a Huawei mate 10 only for navigation
Tbh I don't see the point of a battery in a device like this. It's connected to the bike directly and gets power from the bike's battery.
The thing with navigating all day with a smartphone is that they overheat and shut off. Garmin and TomTom gps-devices don't. But they come in at around 500 euros. Have you had any overheating issues with the Carpuride?
None, and because the phone has it's screen turned off and only does that back end processing the drain on the phone's battery is much lower.

No, because it's not processing anything, it's just a screen for android auto or apple car play.
Shame it doesnt come with a 12v socket option for power.
It's easy to adapta just buy a 12v car plug and wire up the + and -
Here we go, channel 1000 doing the same Carpuride bidding. How many of the same reviews do we have to sit through!? These are all the same white-labeled Chinese Android devices that are then named and marketed through channels like these. Chigee sells the EXACT same unit. There are a few other 'brands' doing the same song and dance with these units. They just use their own branded packaging. It is coming from the same factory!
I'm not knocking the devices but some of these channels are framing it like these are separate brands or something like that and that they 'discovered' it. No. The biggest drawback is the fact that you cannot pinch and zoom the screen like on other map apps. There is no pinch and zoom! The screen has glare and as it collects dust every time you touch it you will create micro scratches. Other then that it is pretty good value for money but if you look around you can even find these as cheap as $100 with no-name on it. You are literally paying extra for the custom packaging only! ;;)
The pinch to zoom is a limitation of the android auto ecosistem and tbh while riding I prefer the + - buttons, they just work better with gloves on. I haven't checked out all the different flavors of this devices but will probably do in the future, checking out the chigee one next week.
@@RideWithAlex I'm sorry if I sounded harsh. ;;) Atoto is another brand using the same setup. You should also check if you can find the firmware updates for your system because flashing them irons out a lot of bugs might have with audio and connecting.
If it wont change with Cardo, then ill rather wait for an update when they work on that. No point in owning them when it wont sync with Cardo
