One absolutely insane StarCraft 1 Vs StarCraft 2 matchup today! It's a grandmaster level TvP (SC1 Terran Vs SC2 Protoss), and it's a particularly interesting one because it's going to be a barcode vs barcode matchup! We've got it all in this one, from cheese to some intense macro, this game has it all. It will be interesting to see how the meta develops as this mod becomes more popular.
These games are made possible by the SC: Evo Complete Crossover Edition mod which brings the StarCraft Brood War versions of Protoss, Zerg and Terran into StarCraft 2! The past and the future duke this intense back and forth game!
If you're new to this channel, I cast a wide range of StarCraft 2 content including casual games and modded games including viewer submitted content! If more casual and modded StarCraft are something you guys are interested in, please consider subscribing!
Since the majority of casts are of pro level games, I think it would be really interesting focus on StarCraft 2 ladder games from the more general population of StarCraft 2 players. Of course I will occasional host a pro-level match once in awhile, but for now I'm focused on casting StarCraft 2 from players in the community!

So the toss was me and I'm 5.1k GM, and the terran is a former BW/SC2 pro who goes by the username TheSTC

The differences between BW siege tank and SC2 siege tank in this mod
BW siege tanks: cost 2 supplies, cost less 25 gas (100 gas), have +1 range (14 range in total), have 33% less fire rate in both modes (less dps), do more damage per shot vs light armor and non-armor attributed units (like SC2 queen and ravager), have 25hp less (150hp), need siege mode upgrade.
SC2 siege tank: cost 3 supplies, cost more 25 gas (125 gas), have - 1 range (13 range), have 33% more fire rate in both modes (higher dps), do less damage per shot vs light armor and non-armor attributed units per shot, have 25hp more (175hp), no need for siege mode upgrade.
Both do the same damage vs armor units per shot.
Conclusion: BW siege tanks focus on the ease of mass production and superior number due to cheaper cost and less supply cost but sacrifice dps for it, but the extra +1 range does make up a bit. SC2 siege tanks focus on quality per unit with with extra hp and much stronger dps, but cost more to make and take up 50% more supply, so you will always have less number than BW siege tanks.
SC1 units just highlight how convluted and pointless some of the SC2 unit design is
But they also how much dynamic and exciting SC2 is, compared to SC1. You have way more choices in SC2.

I disagree with spider-mines doing so much DPS. In the first second, sure. But let them fire for 10 seconds, then they only do 10% of the damage in a second
Uhh, are we talking about the same unit? Mines are suicide units, they impact, explode, and are gone.
Yeah, spidermines dps in a long term is bad ! It just doesn't attack after the first time 😂

It adds so much variety it’s insane
so nice to see the lockdowns into play. i remember back in the broodwar day trying to micro my casters... needed to manually select single unit, or all 12 of them would cast the same ability on the same target. i wonder if the defensive matrix is a lot better managable in sc2
All of Brood War's OP spells are sooooooo much more manageable now, and so much more fun to use as a result.
we need a sc1 vs sc1 game on this sc2 "engine"
I have done this vs AI. It's pretty fun using the classic units I love, but at SC2's way better pace. I hope we see this too.

It's weird that it always look like the terran was losing in a lot of stalker pushes and then the stalkers can't make the final push.
