@@Repetoire heheh, the chess reference is hard, Carlsen is so much better then Morphy. Maybe even in talent, just maybe. But i am not so much into sc, and i am not sure about boxer, but i am sure about flash era.
@@matejtopic826 Yes Carlsen is a better player on an absolute level, he is the strongest chess player of all time. What makes Murphy's accomplishment so great is that its extremely difficult to get so good without someone else at your level who can drive you forward, challenge you and force you to improve.
In the sports club I frequently go to there's this Korean guy in his mid-50s who's always on his phone while waiting for his turns. Out of curiosity I asked him one day how he was doing, what he was watching and he showed me, replays of Boxer matches. Cool dude. Told me everyone his generation back in Korea knew Boxer. He said he would beat me playing random in BGH too. 😅
The commentary play-by-plays have brought this all to a whole new level of a package. Really impressed with how much this channel is still improving (from already top tier reference point :D), the flow and tone of it are an absolute blast to watch and will give many of these replay casts great replayability. More tags on games maybe?
Boxer is the reason I watch pro Starcraft at all. If not for him I wouldn't still be here! I've always wanted to ask you Artosis what your opinion of him is and where he ranks all-time or any other important contributions he had. To me, he will always be the father of ALL esports. Thank you so much for finding his this and I hope you cast more!
With all due respect to you, Artoris, I think you said a lot of inaccurate things. The first progamer in history was X'Ds~Grrrr... without a doubt. He dominated the Starcarft 1 scene in Korea. When he left Canada to go to Korea and become the #1 pro-gamer in history, he had no rivals among the Koreans. The boxer era began months after the release of brood war.
Starcraft 2 died when it was less about fun giant armies that anybody could master than a micro fest and you even start with less minerals No wonder people going back to broodwar
Love watching Boxer play, even to this day. Brings back a lot of memories, nostalgia and most importantly inspiration. Makes me want to play competitively again and pick up Terran.
Wow RT is kinda rude today, not even saying "Hey guys" and announcing that he is here. Jokes aside, this game was fun for many reasons. DeWalt is really growing as a pro player.
Impressive that he is still able to play at this level at 43! i cant even play starcraft anymore my fingers hurt like crazy when i do and im only in my 30s... :(
@@usmh Young people don't realize how demanding BW is. The body isn't made for games like this. It's why all the pros always end up getting surgeries.

He's one of the first pro SC players I ever knew, gives me a lots of nostalgia and also makes me so happy his still playing and being a GOAT, salutes to all veteran SC:BW players around here! Legends never die
boxer moved his army around the map really well, probably better than any other terran, but his army is too small due to lack of attention to macro and lose most fights. but he is definitely "at the right place at the right time", it's just he didn't have enough army. this is unlike most other terrans who just sits in their base massing up and only pushing out when upgrades hits. active movements are something to come in the future, by some other terran with solid macro to back it up
I still remember watching Boxer replays. Being a Zerg player myself I wanted to root for Yellow but Boxer was always two steps ahead of him in terms of strategy and execution. I am pretty sure one of their finals is available in TH-cam, I remember seeing it in terrible quality. Also remember KlazartSC and VioletAK commentaries of Boxer games, I believe after he came back from the military. The videos could only be 10 minutes long, and sometimes when the match ended soon they would upload "anti-spoiler videos" so that you don't figure out too quickly what happens.
Wow, that Terran was awful. 3-4 tank pushes, constantly getting flanked, low supply and progression, low SCV count. He never had enough unit mass to threaten, but he kept on trying instead of strengthening his unit presence.
6:43 “im gettin a few chills here” This dude is the only pro player whose name i ever heard of back in the day, over 20 years ago. This is the first time i seen him play.
The Terran Emperor himself. The godfather of innovative strategies. Gosugaming where i watch or DL replays just to catch of glimpse of his plays. Correct me if im wrong, Artosis u appear in Xellos era, which i refer the prince or the successor of Terran.
Pretty amazing that early 40s when he hasn't played competitively in call it 15+ years, he can hold his own still against the top foreign player. Not that he would but if he put the time into it he could probably make ASL again within a season or two, or at least make a deep qualifiers run
I agree with the other comments, i would be very interested in the more older games of pros in general. Games that changed the way starcraft would be played, historical moments. Or even just games where you can learn about strategy/ tactics of races. That would be very informative and interesting
Time comes for everyone ....except Artosis, he only gets better unless his opponent does some cheese that should be banned and would be banned if he ran blizzard.

I would really appreciate it if you put out commentary of Boxers most important games! The history, the nostalgia!
I'd love this too, my fav part of this replay was the analysis of old strategies at the end
That would be great, but I think that's going to be easier said that done due to copyright issues. Even some of Boxer montages were copyright claimed
This would be amazing and I hope Arty does it. I've been wanting to watch old school peak BW era games with Boxer and it's hard to find.
do it please. it would be cool to contrast those games to games from top players nowadays too
