- Let's School returns to the channel as we jump into the full release version of the game! The doors to Cupboard College* are open and, once we've tidied up a little bit and actually built some school stuff, we welcome our wonderful new students!
Our Headmaster, who will be familiar to you all, and her few staff members set to work teaching the students so we can make sure they pass their exams at the end of the week. We have to deal with a few instances of illicit videogaming on the premises but that's not too much fuss at all.
It's all OK for our students but there is a little bit of an issue with our researchers. For some reason our resident panda (who we hatched from an egg...?) decides they really like resting on the lead researcher's table, which of course makes it difficult for them to work because a panda is quite big!
They do manage to get some research done though and before too long we've got a fancy tea room (which only seems to serve hot water), some toilets and a newly researched food tent! Outside eating for the win!
*Cupboard College may already exist elsewhere in The Geek Cupboard so pretend this one is in some TGC multiverse somewhere.

In Let’s School, you take on the role of a principal tasked with the challenge of revamping and managing your alma mater! The game features two core mechanics: the construction and designing of the school and managing the dynamics of students and teachers.
Each student has unique interests and aspirations, making your role as headmaster more complex. Balancing factors like your school's reputation, satisfying students' basic needs, overseeing academic pressure, and managing aspects like clothing, food, and travel provide an immersive and challenging experience. Aside from the usual responsibilities of a headmaster, you are also tasked with managing various issues that originate outside the school, including mysterious dangers and potential threats that might cause things to go bananas!
The architectural design of the school is a blank canvas for the player. With the freedom to plan and construct various functional facilities and access to hundreds of educational equipment, you define your institution's aesthetic and practical landscape. Don't limit yourself to horizontal expansion - think vertically by constructing multi-story buildings for more innovative developments or even eccentric structures!
The fate of teachers and students lies in your hands. The recruitment process, teaching methodologies, and personal growth of teachers and students rest on your decisions. Enhancing the skills of your teachers opens up opportunities for them in different roles. You can influence student morale and academic performance by offering elective courses, thereby shaping their future life paths.
The management of school discipline is another crucial responsibility. Be mindful of the impact of school facilities on student morale, and beware of signs of student distress. Overeating in the canteen could lead to weight gain, while an increase in eyeglass usage could signal excessive stress. Proper access to sanitary facilities is vital, as a lack thereof may lead to widespread anxiety and misuse of the school premises.
To maintain discipline, monitor for contraband among students and establish an effective punishment system. Handling real-time crises such as truancy, bullying, and questioning also falls within your responsibilities.
Fostering a balanced school environment through field days, morning exercises, and various events could help students regulate their emotions. Let’s School is a game of management, strategy, and decision-making, where every choice you make has far-reaching consequences!

PS "temperate" etc is more to do with annual rainfall than temperature. "Temperate" is drier than, say, "sub tropical", "tropical" or "wet". As an example, I used to live in Canberra, which could get to 40 (celsius) and sometimes, if rarely, got to minus 9 or 10. No snow (usually). Yet, I'm now in a subtropical area where temps tend to be between 8-9 to 38, but the rainfall is approx double per annum.
So happy to see you doing this game! I loved your Academia series. Watching both you and WeeHours playing this and its great. No surprise that you both went "I want to make the prettiest school!" Lol
Dont forget about see what the students want or need when they have a bubble above there head. I cant wait to see how you build your school.

Tea Room - Maybe the students bring their own favourite tea bags 🫖 but need to have hot water for it. I'm going to go with that until the game gives actual tea for that room. ☕
I hope there is something for the panda and cat soon... bed, food, water... maybe some toys. That would be good, right?
I really enjoyed this. The game's atmosphere really suits your humorous and relaxed gameplay "why aim to be the best? I think we should just aim to not be the worst for now!" Love it!
Oh, and that panda has potential to become as legendary as Martin the murderer!

So great that you are playing this again! It looked to me like "Peony Springs" map had a river as well, wrapping around the school plot.
Loving it already, Penge! You're doing great so far~ And I'm going to just pretend the Tea Room does in fact have tea. Lol. Hopefully there's some future thing to unlock that gives ALL THE TEA though!

There is a cat house you can place. Yes they can use it. You can also place food bowls and cat towers.

We're a bit further on in the series now and you'll be glad to hear that we do add more lighting! Eventually...
