@@RacingWithChuck27 I did recommend capping his FPS to his refresh rate. Better to have a consistent 144fps for example in my opinion.
I thought it was just in vr . Tried mentioning the issues on iRacing forums and just get the die hards telling me to optimise my system ( running a 4090 and top end cpu ).
Basically my specific issue was a dodgy GPU driver installation. Paul Busby is a bit of a PC wiz, at least compared to me lol - So using DDU he fully uninstalled all the old ‘dodgy’ drivers & re-installed the new ones. As well as tweaking a few of my settings within the AMD software. He also tweaked a few iRacing graphics settings. Now my FPS doesn’t drop anywhere near as low as it did before💪
Intermittent issues could be parked cores or page file issue. General low fps issues - DDU and pay attention to settings on specific tracks… like VIR and tree settings.

Good to see you back James and amazing races. I’m a safe driver but I’m struggling with the speed and keeping up with people I’ve been thinking about using VRS for setups I just want to be more competitive what would you suggest?
Cheers mate! Setups will help gain you that last little bit, but they are not the most important thing. For iRacing tho I use P1 Doks for setups: www.patreon.com/p1doks/shop
you are welcome Mate. Thanks James I will have a look at P1 Docs for setups it just made the Jump into setups and trying to figure out how they work. I agree with you it comes down to race craft and avoiding collisions which is always in IRacing I’m racing in VR I am always watching the mirrors and gaps to the other sides 👍

How do you manage to instantly hit 80% brake pressure and never ever go to 81%, staying soooo constistent? You using some sort of limiter for that? Great video btw!
It really depends if there's a competition coming up or not. At the very least I try & do a couple of hours on the sim per day, you can get rusty pretty quickly!

Ok so tell me again how they charge ppl monthly to play and yet they cant even get the game to run at smooth 120+ fps? Yikes im so never giving them a single coin, glad they prove why they dont deserve it!
I personally really like the Iracing graphics tbh. Iracing isn’t really supposed to be a simcade game with pretty graphics and slightly realistic physics. It was also released in a time when pc’s probably couldn’t run 30 cars on really nice graphics, so they prob just left it like that.
Brake pressure cap? That's some bullshit surely. How can you trail brake properly if you max pedal pressure isn't actually the max pressure the game sees, that's and it's just bollocks in general 😅
@Jaaames yeah I get that, but you take trace a lot of the time is flat at 80% for a duration when it's unlikely your foot is. So surely the initial phase of trail braking is nullified by being above the 80% on your pedal?
Shit i alway scared to death to see Iracing graphics quality😅 So bad! i know everybody shal say its al about the gameplay but man so Year 2000 graphics

@I’ve always been under the impression (from the experts) that having your fps beyond your refresh rate is not a benifit, just heats up your pc, gpu ?

Maybe make a short video about the fps problems you had , a lot of people are having weird issues with iracing lately, plus .... More content 😁👀👀

Lol
In IMSA you can do tires at the same time as fuel, so in open you can get 1 for free, and sometimes 2 if you have to take a lot of fuel
Yep done that before tbf, in these cooler temps it wasn't really necessary.

Correct, I feel like it's easier to be consistent with this in iRacing, for me at least

how do you set the brake cap? Is it just in the pedals software
Came to the comments for this too I'm assuming yes. I could see 90% but only 80% seems wild especially if it has ABS. Will have to try
@ the lmp2 he’s driving has no abs so it makes sense

It's in the in-game controls settings :D
At least when having the load cell brake thingy checked since I do own one.
You can set this up in your pedals software depending on what pedals you have, but you can also do it in iRacing, in options, which is how I do it.
how do you get the mini map and stuf like that ????
Racelabs
