Really hope you all enjoy this. A massive thank you to all those involved in bringing it together - particularly Lanzante and Ray. As an aside, I couldn’t quite believe it when Ray said that his original F1 was chassis 46 - the same car that we had together with the T.50 earlier this year.
Hagerty don’t you ever let Henry go! His style and way with words make these some of the best produced car films out there! Between Catchpole and Cammisa, Hagerty really is all bout Driving Culture!
Best job ever? And bloody well-deserved! This is the gold standard that all auto journo's need to aspire to. Well shot, no tacky music, engine sounds, articulate commentary, no fake yelling - brilliant, bravo Henry.
Henry how do you manage to replicate genius over and over again ? To see the GTR trio with you at the helm...at the Top gear test track! Just wow. Like an alternate universe. This is perfection! Video of the year
Chassis 028R. What an absolute honor it is to drive that beast. The Gulf Davidoff livery is in my top 2 favorite liveries of all time. I can only imagine driving 028R. Man, oh man
I don't know, what i enjoyed more. The sounds? The background story? Henrys excitement? The glorious footage? Well done, Henry and team, this episode was magnificent.
@@mikevadvilavich1414 thats already an unachieveable dream for many! A GT3 RS is what most people dream about. :D but yeah an F1 is a different league.. i have the dream to some day be a passenger in one.
The year is 1999, I’m stationed at RAF Molesworth and have a weekend R&R… I’m in London, north of Hyde Park and I will live the “Porsche ad” put my nose print on the window of the McLaren sales room and an F1 on a turn table….. I’m a gear head and this was my Holy Grail moment. Priceless car and thank you McLaren for letting Gordon Murray bring this piece of art to live!
I’ve met a few racing drivers in my time and was lucky enough to meet Ray at the BRDC clubhouse a good few years ago. One of very few I’ve met who seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
Henry has now driven 3 F1's. I'm convinced he's on a mission to drive more F1 than anyone. Also, I don't think life gets any better than driving an F1 GTR at Dunsfold; my god that is just epic. Lastly, Ray must be kicking himself that he owned 2 of these cars. He must feel like the guy who threw away a hard drive full of bitcoin.
Long time Hagerty customer and drivers club member here. Do you ever pinch yourself to be sure you are not dreaming in situations like this? Well done!
Henry Catchpole most definitely up there at the top for presenting car related stuff. The F1 engine makes such an incredible sound, something I'll always remember when watching one take part at Silverstone in the GT series...best sounding car there. The P1 for me will always be very special, the shape, the rear wing (on the road car) and that very unique(?) engine sound, just very special. An era of cars never to exist again, just like the Mercedes C8, C9 and C11 race cars. Thanks guys.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your research, writing, delivery, humility, passion, and pure joy give me actual goosebumps. Thank you for always doing cars justice.
F1 GTR is absolute legendary. But that P1 GTR looks so good and sounds so entertaining (turbos) as well. Senna looks best in this GTR form... so aggressive.
That was probably the day of Henry Catchpole's life, yet somehow he managed to keep providing such knowledge to the viewer. I never felt it was his day out, but it was him taking us on an amazing journey that none of us will ever experience. Truly amazing performance by Mr Catchpole. So many other so called car journalists or you tube presenters could learn so much from him.
Absolutely incredible video. Henry, you are a lucky man. The F1 and all iterations will always be the best McLaren of all-time, but something about this particular P1 GTR oozes absolute desirability. That livery is perfection!!!!!!
had the privilege of seeing this beautiful f1 this past weekend at the mclaren experience in las vegas. it was breathtaking seeing a unicorn like this in person
What a great story and video! The fact that there is a story to tell and it’s not a comparison video makes this video wonderful. If you could manage a road trip with these three cars that would be amazing! Henry, Jason, and Larry would be an interesting trio for such a road trip since each has a very different personality and perspective.
Congratulations and thank you to Henry and Hagerty. This was incredible. The one thing missing for me was the camera shot of the cars blasting by at Follow-through. We've all seen a thousand cars go around that track and that's the single best angle.
Ray Bellm! What a legend, use to watch reruns of the BPR seasons and he made the OG Gulf-liveried F1 GTRs iconic - great to hear his thoughts (Also wow to the cars and TG test track)
I saw Ray Bellm race that 95 car at Andersdorp in Sweden along with Lindsay Owen-Jones in the sister car. The race was won by the Ferrari F40, I think Ferrari's only victroy that season. My father had some Gulf branded petrol stations and we were guests of the team. What a cracking weekend. Last thing before we left the circuit after the race was watching Ray use the main straight to take off in his private jet back to England. Class.
McLarens royalty the McLarens GTRs in one place, served by legend itself Henry Catchpole, just an amazing video and story behind these three cars :) Hagerty you should get together Jason Cammisa and Henry Catchpole to make a YT series about cars America vs Europe vs Asia for every decade. Keep up the amazing job bringing us such high-quality production videos and stories from the automotive world. :)
This video illustrates quite dramatically how much more raw and emotionally empowered the supercars of the 1990's were. I wouldn't turn down a drive in any of these cars, but if I had to choose only one of them, the F1 GTR would be a no brainer. 600bhp and 920kg with a sequential manual? Gimme gimme gimme!
It's obvious that you put a lot of time, effort and production into these videos but although it's a true testament to Henry's abilities to talk and drive at the same time his voice just doesn't carry well enough. Let us hear more of the car and then bring Harry in for the voiceovers which come in quite clearly. Yes, I'm just a lowly keyboard warrior that doesn't understand how exciting it is to those who are used to the accent so they can just relax and not have to wonder what he's saying. The cars were wonderful and the videography excellent.
Only an insurance company could have underwritten bringing all three of these cars together in one place at one time for this shoot. And I am HERE for it!
F1….my favourite car of all time. Seen one in the metal at MTC but never in the wild. I was thinking to my self I would be loosing my s**t if I was in the Yaris following the GTR on a public road. Great video!
I know that this is probably sacrilege, but I can’t get past how good the P1 GTR sounds. I know the BMW V12 is at the precipice of automotive asmr, but holy smokes that P1 V8 is crazy good. It’s like somewhere between a Can-Am car and a NASCAR.
Henry you beyond lucky. Such a raw, rare experience that almost everyone on the planet will never understand how it feels. The sound is epic, but to experience it first hand must have been 10/10!
Words, music, sounds, what I see.... make me feel a bit more into it. That is the difference to any other car stuff I can watch online. Keep it this way!

@HenryCatchpole Love the videos, such good quality In all aspects. We appreciate you
This is god-tier journalism and effort in filmmaking Henry. Please pass that on to your crew. Stunning cars!
Bet that was a good day at work. Amazing video, as always, you and the rest of the team never disappoint.
This was awesome, one of the best things I've seen this year. Thank you
did you just colour matched your shoe laces with the cars?🤣
Henry Catchpole at the TopGear Test Track just makes me mull over what could've been...
aaand on that bombshell 🤭😉
He would be wasted in Top Gear as an entertainer
Tbh, be it EVO, Carfection or Hagerty; I'm really quite happy he is exactly where he's supposed to be...
Henry is far too good at what he does for Top Gear.
What were the times? Someone must have had a stopwatch!
Hagerty don’t you ever let Henry go! His style and way with words make these some of the best produced car films out there! Between Catchpole and Cammisa, Hagerty really is all bout Driving Culture!
I agree. I think that we’re really living in a new golden age of car journalism.
Meh
@@Euphorica who’s better?

Fantastic 😍 I want one 😂
I'm the mercedes m120 V12 for my current supercar project 😎
Wow wow, catchpoles v12 videos are mental and a delight for the eyes and ears
100% 😍
I hope my V12 build sounds that good 🤞

That Davidoff/Gulf livery on the GTR Longtail is my absolute favorite looking race car. Perfection improved upon. 11/10!

Back then, Catchpole drove 3 legendary 90''s supercar. The F1, CLK GTR, and 911 GT1.
And look what he's got to show us now!
I don't know, what i enjoyed more. The sounds? The background story? Henrys excitement? The glorious footage? Well done, Henry and team, this episode was magnificent.
The F1 is such a pretty car. Pure classic design.
i see Mclaren F1 and i click the video

i just uploaded an Mclaren F1 video. Awesome timing.
Absolute god-level car, with a price to match. I have a GT3RS, but that car is a commoner compared to the F-1's royalty.
