First thing I did is check spark fuel ignition timing sensors I found fuel pump failed even though I could hear it running in the tank. Replaced both of them
Great video man, it'll probably help a lot of people with those old fords. Btw those burned out looking things are called capacitors, they only cost a few cents each. It's pretty easy to de-solder the old ones and solder in the new ones, just make sure you buy the right ones and install them in the proper polarity. Maybe worth fixing the old computer to keep as a backup.
I got a 93 Ford F-150 put a 94 300 in line 6 in it it's turning over but it's real hard like something's holding it back battery is hot it's full fully charged what could it be
I need to post a video of my 90 F250 with the 4.9 5 speed. I had the same issue and no one at the time had any videos that could help me figure it out. PCM replacement fixed 90% of its issues and then I had the ICM go out and it made it run like new after replacing it. I really think somehow the ICM was only half working before it went out, because it ran so much better after i replaced it.
I have a 1994 F150 4.9 liter just stopped on me so I put a new coil and an ignition module ,still wouldn't star .Had it towed to the ford dealership. The said it was the computer ...changed the computer, it did start an idle A-1 . Took it for a drive and all it does is hitch/jerk they've tested the fuel pump says it's got good pressure ,checked wired and plugs and they are also good . What is left to check??
I've got a truck here (not mine) doing the same sort of thing. No engine light, no codes... All 3 fuel pumps operate normally, cycling normally, fuel pressure is within specs, both tanks are full. Ignition system was just tuned up (new cap, rotor, plugs, wires), it's got good, hot spark. All 6 injectors have a "pulse" signal, and all 6 injectors spray fuel when jumped AT THE COMPUTER CONNECTOR... It will start and run after reconnecting the computer for a second until that fuel burns off, then it will not restart. If I jump power and ground to the injectors with the computer hooked up, I can keep the engine running by "pulsing" the ground myself. The computer is sending power and ground to the injectors, but somehow it will not "fire" them. All circuits test good, no high resistance, no voltage drop, no corroded connectors, all fuel injectors test 14.6 ohms of resistance and all six injector connectors have "pulse" from the computer tested with a "noid" light, and all six injectors spray fuel when jumped, but again, the computer will not fire them. I've tried 2 used computers and 2 remanufactured computers, all had "pulse" but none would make the engine run. Any ideas? I'm about to set the damn thing on fire and watch it burn.
I have a 94 7.3 idi and im having the same issue with no start, i replaced the starter solenoid, white ignition box under the dash, checked all my fuses and relays and there all good. Could my pcm be bad? (We have a push button hooked up so you turn the keys to turn everything on and then press the push button to start)
thank you so much you made it to ware i am not looking for something that is not there my ecm did have a blown resister and blew in the best way i might be able to repair it
Will a bad pcm cause transmission issues mine will run sometimes it won't also dies when get up to operating temperature when you try to drive it when it does run has a heck of a miss fire with check engine light on but when it's off runs like a dream and trans is fine I'm leaning towards a pcm failure but need more options mine is a 95 f150 with 5.8 and auto trans a4od
If the crank no start /dies after 30 mins. Or so......replace your pick up coil....I had same issue and replaced same parts except I replaced icm...seems icm controls fire till engine warms then pcm takes over..at this point ur pickup coil fails to pick up causing miss/ seems like fuel issue and is or was for me ...a hard issue to pinpoint. Thanks for the post.
My 91 ford bronco 5.8l cranks no start its getting spark / fuel i changed the whole distributor, module plugs ,wires ,i even did the timing chain/ water pump, changed relays and the wires going to it only thing i aint changed is ecm and fuel filter
Do you remember what brand or what company you bought your ecm through? I’ve heard stories of people buying “new” ones or “reconditioned” and they look horrible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe he should buy Toyota next
Man we have identical trucks
Your paint is a million times better tho

So I have a 1994 f150 with the 4.9 L6 and it wont turn over but the solenoid will click and when tried jumping it it will only click
Distributor pick-up coil or the starter relay solenoid or the PCM like this guy replaced. Could be any of these. You just have to figure it out.

Mine was the computer. Are you sure the “new one” is good?

You’ve done way more than me man haha.
@@AddictedMotors LOL... Yeah, this thing has everyone stumped.
Is it fixed.how?

@@tommavrakos It ended up getting sent to a Ford dealer, they fixed it but I never found out what they actually did...
I have no check engine light on, just the crank no start

My first clue was when my computer would not pull a code out of the ECM.. and also I noticed a fuel pump kept running as well..
That ford300 4.9 straight 6 is a champ lol it's a bulletproof tank... Never sell it 😎
Ignition control module got me but, inertia switch had a burnt connector that kicked my ..
What would one do if that 10mm bolt is stripped because I can't seem to get mine out.
Ooof

Possibly. Mine was a manual.
Yes it will possibly cause that

Ended up being the pcm
Nice. I remember how long that would crank.

It was just a used OME unit
That's a great place to put a PCM it's always going to get wet.😂 nice fix mate. Yeah I can imagine why.🖐🖐
Took way too long to get to that conclusion.
Actually they don’t get wet at all!
Enough rust on the driver's fender and you will have computer problems for sure. I think we put a bag around one once.
F350xl crank no start …has new glow plugs …fuel tanks and sending unit …and diesel pump still no start
did you find the problem, my f350 does the same
Flawless victory! 👌🏽
Look to the center of His✝️ory and you will find the ✝️ruth
Chainsaw in the background
those are capacitors my dude not diodes
If it has dual tanks, one isn’t going to work
F350xl crank no start …has new glow plugs …fuel tanks and sending unit …and diesel pump still no start
Had to bleed injectors after all that now she starts …you coming soon
This one wasn’t a diesel.
Was it the glow plug solenoid
