For some reason, when FF rankings were brought up, I knew 12 would be done dirty. Easily the most underrated FF game, and it is not even close, so misunderstood. Ironically, 20 years ago, I felt 9 was the most underrated, and now I feel it is the most overrated.
@@shanezell Absolutely fair, the original has the same gameplay problem that FF6 has with the characters feeling very samey, especially towards the end.
I haven't caught one of these in a long time. Have you thought about doing some runs in Final fantasy 1 Dawn of Souls? It would be neat to see you try runs in that game, which is what I'm doing now. I usually do Pokemon challenges, but my passion for Final fantasy 1 Dawn of Souls nagged me to do some runs in that game lol. 😊😊😊
@@MobileGamingChronicles I could do runs in that game, sadly most runs would look identical unless I made a whole lot of restrictions. With spells working like the giants glove (saber) and items like the giants tonic +200 max hp) every single run looks the same no matter what party you have.
@@shanezell yeah and Chaos would be easier other than his physical hits hurting like hell since he usually lands his hits even with max evasion, but when you've got a full party it's not that bad.
@@shanezell it doesn't seem like it in Dawn of Souls. I was talking about DoS, he reliably does 400 damage without haste, and sometimes 600+ damage with Haste up.
@@MobileGamingChronicles Every Protect drink takes off 10 damage per swing...it takes a bit to buff your defense. Once stacked up his Hasten crits are like 100 damage.
~16:02 -- "maybe I should fight sharks instead?" Not sure if your level 2-3 bare handed fighters could have pulled it, but you might have been able to manipulate fights with kyozu (buccanners in Pixel Ramstered), those would give a LOT of money early on (almost as much as the Ogres). Issue is that they are tough initially -- probably less tough then a shark, but still maybe too much for the party.
@@roymerkel8008 Kyzoku are terrible exp, good for gold sure... But when you don't need that money they are pretty useless. Sharks have zero defense so hitting them barehanded even the red mages can do damage.
@@shanezell yeah, I remembered the Sharks being more dangerous then they were. Also, ~1:42:00 (RE: as per bare hands vs chaos), I think Sullah did it with 2 fighters, a red mage, and a white mage beating Chaos all bare handed, but I don't recall how he did it (I want to say he manipulated game mechanics or mild glitches, but it's been too long and I don't remember.) But all of that is not applicable to this particular challange as this is the Vorpal Blade challange not the Iron Fists 2 -- the sequal ;)
You should make a special randomized seed for Final Fantasy 1 NES to where you have max gold and can buy 4 Masamunes and use 4 Red Mages and see how fast you can beat the game with Fast + Masamune! That would be incredible to see! 😁😁😁
That feeling when you find the tube unsubbed you. Glad I found ya again mate!
Indeed. I'm surprised TH-cam didn't unsubscribe me from the channel since it's been a long time since I caught one of these videos.

I think I would have enjoyed 12 more if I played the Zodiac Job version first.

Masamune is in shambles.
Such a great run. However, Dan is really upset.
This looks awful. I can't wait!
