Interesting how he drives the older classic cars hard. Like hes not shy about that at all.

Surprised the owners of these beautiful cars allowed Peter to take them to some of the locations.

My favorite thing about these episodes, is watching these cars driving in the outback

Yes and the fact most 4WD vehicles today would be shaking in their little booties at the thought of having to drive over such ground, the Model T is FAR more capable off road than almost modern 4WD!!!!!!!!
You have to go right back to the series one Land Rover to find a truly capable 4WD!!!!

@@barryphillips7327 The Defender was the last truly capable 4x4, the new one is capable, but not in the same league. To be fair 70-Series Landcruisers are fine for genuine offroad work, straight from the showroom with just one modification: a fix to the narrow rear track, especially if you want to tow. The Suzuki Sierra Jimny is also excellent, though still needs more power, and is hardly a long-distance tourer and the currdnt m9del cannot be towed as easily as the previous models.

Pete certainly knew what he was talking about and had some very good ideas, shame he was not able to see what we have in 20-21, and lack of any locally produced cars in AU.

Made in the days when the ABC had a worthwhile budget to work with .

Peter was a motoring journalist in a league of his own,a presenter you knows about his subject and unafraid to tell the truth. These days you are left with presenters who in Top Gear fashion are little more than comedians who are hobbled by advertising companies and car manufacturers and unable to actually point out any bad points of a motor vehicle.
