Just like to say thanks for making this video. You're saving people about $300 or more in labor costs for a common repair, and you even detail proper safety procedures.
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Atlas Leonel Instablaster :)
@Emanuel Aydin Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Emanuel Aydin It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
@Atlas Leonel you are welcome :)
you just save my ass. i was about to do this job in a driveway for a friend for NOTHING. i watched this vid... packed up all my tools, and recommended a reliable shop locally. LOL thanks man saved my ASS.
Steven Pope haha yeah I guess it is a pita
only because im not currently in a shop with a lift. was assuming it was a canister in line... something ten minutes or so. lololol. thanks again
My fuel pump blew on I-80 westbound about 2 hours ago. My winter car crapped out on me in Winter! Now , I have to reinsure my Camaro , pull the car cover off and go buy one. Great start to a cold weekend.
I used one inch longer screws to get the gas tank back on my 1997 Oldsmobile 88 to make it easier to get the fuel tank back on. I hope this will not cause problems later.
Be sure to mark which direction the strainer points! Also use brass instead of steel hammer and screw drivers to reinstall lock-in ring!
The 1995 Cutlass Supreme is very similar, this video should help you a lot in replacing the fuel pump in your car.
Good video. Have a 1996 ciera. Will be doing this soon
This video was great. BIG help! Thank you
ARCHERS ENTERTAINMENT thanks you for watching!!
It should be the same as the one in this video, you should be able to use this video as a reference for your car.
On highway at consistent speeds, temp rises and engine quits responding to throttle input. Pull over followed by a rough idle then dies. But is normal a half hour later. Should be fuel pump yeah? 95 olds ciera Cutlass 3.1 v6 94k miles
@NWB1989 if it is badly rusted then it is a good idea to replace it. (By badly rusted I mean rusted bad enough so that the actual metal is weakened). If it's just surface rust, you can go ahead and reuse it.
Excellent job, ten out of ten!!!!!
Actual Book time calls for 1.8 Hours + an additional 0.2 Hours to drain and refill the tank, so 2.0 Hours total book time.
Good job, thank you.
It will be very similar, most fuel pumps are very similar in their replacement method. The only variables will likely be the location and styles of connectors.
@APDTY
Would you imagine a 95supreme being the same motives?
like the dog.appreciate the video. My big dog is boss and the beagle is supervisor trainee
Whenever your sending unit gets rusty, should you need to replace it?
I believe almost all '96 or is it 2006 & newer GM passenger cars have an access panel in the trunk to change the fuel pump.
ALLxoxoxoxo no not all, some exist and then the rest just seem difficult but not really
i have a 1995 ciera cutlass and i have to get a knew radiator. I need to know if it have 2 transmission oil coolers or 1. Does anybody know?
How do you tell the difference between the base model 3.1 and the SL model?
Is this pretty much the same procedure for a 1995 Olds Cutless Supreme SL? Thank You
What is the purpose of that band clamp mounted to the middle of axle? I have a mark on my forehead from that stupid screw pointing down. I was working on the exhaust, didn't notice it before turning my head and hitting it. It's the lowest thing around. (It could have been pointing up..)
@Mikeishere1st Unfortunately engineers don't always keep the mechanic in mind when they design parts like that. I have often asked myself why the engineers decided to put sharp stabby things in tight spots that are very inconvenient and painful to the person working on the car.
"...don't always keep the mechanic in mind..." Always? How about never? I propose a solution to that lack of thought - make repairing cars for some years a requirement for getting a job involving any aspect of designing or engineering them. That'd make the world a better place.
1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, can anybody explain to me why they buried the battery under the windshield washer Reservoir and that stabilizer bar or whatever?? So dumb. Why can't they just keep things simple like they were? Is there any possible advantage to this installation at all??
@@chrystalbow2230 They did that because they didn't have the advantage of employing the designers at Chrysler who cunningly contrived to bury their batteries even deeper. Never mind a brace and a washer fluid tank, accessible from above. Lift the car, remove the wheel, remove a fender liner, and then you will almost be able to work in tight quarters in the dark to remove battery connecters and hold down bolt.
We jacked up the rear of the car and slid the ramps under the wheels. The pump was completely dead so the car wasn't running, otherwise we would have probably driven it up the ramps.
I have a 1990 cutlass ciera that starts, runs for a few seconds then shuts off. I changed the fuel filter, then the pump and still have the same problem. I was told to try running a new power wire from the bat straight to the power wire on the pump to make sure it's getting the right voltage but don't know which wire is the power. I tried patching in to alll four one at a time but never heard the pump kick on. Do I have to have the key on for this to work? (is it ground or power controled)
timothy jordan you should just check fuel pressure first, you might. It have a fuel pump problem at all, check fuel pressure and watch a few videos in it before running any wires,
Lol I got a 94 and you have to drop the track in that year, you can go through the trunk in the 95 model
Is this the reason why my car won't stay on after a oil change I have a 90 oldsmobile cutlass ciera I am trying to figure out what making it cut off while driving everything esle is up to date on it
could be the filter
How did you get the car up on those ramps? Did you Jack the car up and slide the ramps under it?
tiger tail we got this car running enough to get it up in ramps
Muchas gracias, no está complicando
So what would actual book time be on a job like this? 3 hours? less?
Where is the relay for the fuel pump please help me
Did you find it
Not so sure I want to play around the gas tank and electrical wires. Don't know why the electric fuel pump is in the gas tank. Why couldn't it have been placed under the engine compartment. Its bad enough with the level sending rheostat unit in the gas tank. I understand the gas liquid itself isnt explosive. Its the vapors that are. Its all cars that do this, not just GM cars. Still....you'd think there'd be a better way.
is there a fuel pump fuse/ I know where the relay is up front. on a95 ciera
yes it’s actually behind the relay in its own little plug lol
I just replace the whole fuel pump assembly.
What if the car won't turn on anymore??
jack the car up and slid ramps under it
