i love watching these guys. I lost my brother in death, he was the other half to me. Like these brothers, Phil and i just new what was what in the bush. We just flowed. Its rare in life to just flow with another human, even better it being ones kin. Outstanding videos from these two.

the way that they all say portage is so wrong hahahhaa you pronounce it like "POOR-T-AW-GE" like "port" then "aw" (as in aw thats a cute dog) then the g sound at the end

They did burn through that first tank pretty quick. They could have tried some shore fishing around their camp, drift down to camp casting off the boat, anchoring where it hits. I wonder if they will row before they run out of gas.
I've been really enjoying their show, they seem like pro hunters from previous shows. I loved when he shot that caribou and secured some food to last.

A lot of people don't realise that in protected areas like these guys get dropped in, have a lot of game laws for fishing or hunting. The reason he said it was too small and let it go was because there is probably a size requirement for being able to keep the caught fish. Real fisherman know this. Even when they take a shot to kill they must do so ethically, according to the game laws of the land. I think this show is amazing, but people who underestimate it, don't realise that there is a lot going on that influence a simple decision, like what size of fish to keep.

If you ask me , I would had be fishing first two days, have a look at the shores, fish enough to have food for couples days ,then start hunting. This 1/3 of the day , exploring, 1/3 hunting and 1/3 fishing is the worse plan possible. Also to say that the go to sleep hungry but next day morning to go hunting.... I don't know, it sounds dodgy, i have a feeling that that tent is packed with food 😂😂😂
Yeah if it was really a survival show they never would have let that fish go. It wasn't even that small. Still one of the better channels, though.
Yeah I hate every bit of the way Casey fishes. I absolutely would not have thrown any fish back I don't believe in superstition😂😂😂

I think Chris gets pretty ticked off at Casey's little eff ups. He missed the pig, he turns the first fish loose, he misses the grouse, he refuses to listen sometimes and who bowhunts and doesn't walk the trail without at least being semi-prepared. Arrow in hand if not already knocked. You never know when you could disturb an animal on a trail that suddenly comes out in front of you and you have a snapshot chance. Oh well.....these are pro-hunters and I've only been hunting for 24 years.
I don't think this is so much survival as much as it is of an informational, educational type of deal plus an advertisement too...still pretty cool tho
In a true survival situation, all food is important. BS on discarding fish.

I'd slept more comfortable had I been on an island with hanging meat.
It's cool to consider other areas in the north to hunt maybe next season but if they did get a buck or bear that'd be that much more to lug through the creek.

Yes a female taste better than a male. Has to do with the testosterone level. Just like a female doesn’t stink anywhere like a grown male goat.

I never heard of throwing the first fish back that's ridiculous why go fishing especially in a survival situation ,you just don't throw away food.

The darn music takes away from the wilderness...rather hear the wind and water.
What a waste not cutting the hide in one piece..after gutting, open it up one side at a time, cut up your pieces sever the head at the spine taking a huge amount of weight off and roll it to other side. Gutting, quartering and severing head 1st side removes almost 2/3 weight or more. To get a tag for a moose is 20k or more!
How many jet boil fuel canisters do you think they go through in the whole month? Curious for my prep/survival plan so any educated answers are appreciated.

While I agree it should not be called a survival show everyone should just get over it. It’s both a camping/hunting show along with a very long Cabela’s commercial. My biggest complaint about the show is the Commentator.😂

I personally don't think they go to hungry for the fishing ordeal. I get the tradition do put-back the first fish you catch in a survival ordeal that really isn't the smartest thing to do and with the second catch to say that it was too small I call malarkey on that. So that's why I feel it's not a true survival show.

Can’t eat 20 pounds of fish, but can eat 1200 pounds of moose lol
1-a fish (trout anyway)that big usually doesn’t taste that great.2-unless you are going to put the effort into smoking it fish will go bad way faster than the moose. 3-most people hang deer,elk,moose for 1 to 2 weeks before you process it just like they do beef.
