Man I’ve watched TH-cam fulltime for some 10+ years. And it is not often I have found such a masterpiece of storytelling, cinematics and adventure in one single video. Simply marvellous!
What a fantastic, informative and insightful doco. This guy is a real hero. The Aboriginal people who saved the 2 Germans were heroes too. Bravo to the Aboriginal community for allowing this filming and granting permits to be on their land. Your country is awesome.
shoutout to the True North crew for offering sustenance. it's the Kimberley way to check in and offer what you have, to whoever, even when you reckon someone is absolutely fine, and i've been lucky enough to receive such genuine kindness on many occasions. such a magnificent part of the world, for so many reasons.
Australia is such a a beautiful country, and the awsome accent doesn't hurt either. Thank you for taking me on your survival journey. God Bless you and all of Australia.
After watching thousands of nature and survival videos, I feel this is one of the best survival films I have watched. Some people with camera and support team can’t do the same job. Kiddos 👏 and keep doing the amazing work.
I lived in Kununurra in the early 90s ,Built a humpy on the banks of the Ord river where I lived for 18 months. Made a spectacular trip to Kalumbru in an old Holden with my mate. The old landing strips from WW2 in the bush. One place had hundreds of 44 gallon drums with USMC stenciled on them. The first mission ,crocks and Barra. Really is a land made for adventure. Brought back a lot of great memories. You can gain and lose many things during the course of a life time. But the memory of an adventure is a precious place to be able to visit. Really enjoyed the video.
This is by far one of the most tasteful and respectful productions on TH-cam. What an epic adventure. Thanks for showing a South African a part of the world I would otherwise never have had the chance or privilege to see.
Amazing story of history As an American that was hands down, one of the best history lessons I've ever seen or heard. Thank you for sharing this with us all. And many more thanks to the Aboriginal people for allowing this. Their huge hearts and extremely kind ways are truly amazing. My step-Mum is from Australia so this touches in so many more ways than most. God bless 🙌 🙏
Wow , what an amazing re-construction of a historic event , if not redesigned to ensure safety , but also possibly made harder being done alone , .. Incredible photography and great narration , thank you and congratulations on your feat , quite an achievement..wishing you luck with your future endeavours.. Much respect for your acknowledgement of the local Aboriginal owners of the land and their involvement in saving those men ..
No gimmicks, no drama, no click-bait, no nonsense. Just a guy testing himself and making a massive effort to share with everyone else for the pure purpose of doing and sharing. You can feel the commitment and the love for his project. More of this everywhere. Least I can do is subscribe.
The editing, the music, the voiceover, the flashbacks, the seriousness, the goofs. Easily one of the best long format TH-cam videos I’ve seen. Love the content brother
Wish I could turn the volume of the background music down. Sadly it annoys me and makes it hard to hear. Guess I will resort to captions. 13:51 volume of music down!
This is better than most Hollywood documentaries on human survival stories and is a testament to the two airmen and the aborigines that helped rescue them … all beautifully told … well done 👍
Kudos to this author; firstly for showing respect to the Aboriginal people whose land he traversed and, secondly, for his discipline and adventure. A great video to watch.
This deserves so much more attention, views and likes. The production quality is AMAZING. I sat the full hour and watched every second, it was just incredible. One of the best documentary films I’ve watched, well done.😊
Thank you for sharing this remarkable historic recreation, filming such beautiful scenery off our own country... Also, a fantastic job, expertly done cinematography, documentation and narrating this adventure, it is truly remarkable what you have achieved... Congratulations...
so true! I constantly need air conditioning if it gets a little warm. And it just seems like there is always something trying to ki11 you in Australia.
Australia is relatively safe compared to so many places the only large predator is crocodiles and thats only in the top of Australia it's a very small portion of Australia people from other countries always say how deadly everything is its so dumb what about Africa go for a walk at night by yourself so many animals can eat you in Australia there is just snakes which hardly ever kill people
Incredibly well produced and edited. Great music … extremely high caliber. You took us on a soaring journey of wonder and accomplishment. Speaks to something primal and raw inside us all. Well done!
A truly magnificent adventure - well done, congratulations and a big 'thankyou' for giving us the chance to come along with you ... albeit without all the uncertainty, suffering and great endurance. Terrific effort mate!
Woahhh, what a nice clip. I could watch this for 3 months. You are one of the pearls of TH-cam. You are one reason, I am paying to have this add-free and high resolution. Thanks, mate!
Extremely well produced. And thank you for highlighting the kindness and beautiful spirit of the indigenous people. May they forever retain stewardship over this part of Australia.
I have always watched TH-cam, but this is truly one of the best videos/films I have watched. Your story telling ability is top notch and inspired me to research their story more. Great job! Going to have to watch it again now!
Sitting in the comfort of home after a hearty meal and watching this this video and the effort required to not only make, it but film it even more amazing
This was so respectfully done, not just in homage to the Germans and Aboriginals who found them but more down to the fact that you asked permission to access the land. Brilliant piece and well put together 👏
I must be living in the outback.....self tracking drones, tiny moving cameras etc.....blown away at this quality.....Going to binge everything on your channel!!!!!
The journey to the starting point alone is a crazier adventure then most "survival" cannels will ever make. Paired wiht amazing level of detail, editing, filming and effort it alomst hurts to see this vidoe doesnt have more views. Genuenly sould get 10 Mio. views... I hope you will recive the sucess you deserve one day! Defenitely got me subscribing!
Amazing the best thing I've ever seen- I'm going to watch this with my wife who doesn't wach anything but will surely enjoy this Amazing guy & his endurance.
Didn’t know anything about this story going in. Learned a ton and got a very entertaining video. Phenomenal work, makes me think of how many other insane survival story’s from the past none of us know about!
I have been through the kimberley region, and including wyndom. It is truly amazing, almost like land that time forgot. It's a harsh but spectacular and beautiful place. The fate of the navigators was remarkable. This film honours their plight and that of the precious land and local people. I have watched this and not blinked 😂 Thank you for your endurance and commitment to this film making. Thank you for showing and sharing 100% respect 🙏🏻 from 🇬🇧
Cool man very unique to retrace the steps of Aviators. Its truly amazing to see what someone can accomplish out there knowing that most within the first few days would die from dehydration. I have to say that guy with this boat offering you food and stuff knowing he had heard you were out there was kinda wrong for that knowing you hadn't seen real food in days and were trying to accurately recreate their journey. For you to turn him down flat out immediately when he offered knowing how hungry you had been took a lot in you and showed great resilience and for that I say you deserve respect for.
Looks like a cool video but the commentary is just way too hard to hear. For future productions I'd recommend turning down the background music a lot! And less compression on the narration track!
Did not notice this at all. Perfect balance for me. How did you watch it? Like what kind of a setup? I notice you've gotten some likes on this post so there must be others that also experienced trouble
I'm really struggling to understand anything that's said too. It's particularly bad on my TV. All speech totally drowned out by the overbearing music. Shame, it looks like an interesting doco, it's just not watchable for me. I hoped the music would stop but appears it doesn't.
Thanks mate for letting me live vicariously one of the great adventures I've always dreamed of doing but will not be able to do. And God bless the wonderful aboriginal people, their land, their history, their future and their boundless kindness.
I saw you on Alone Australia/NZ. I swear it's you. Did an incredible job, gotten taken off the job against your wishes. Hats off to you sir. I love these kinds of videos
I am ever grateful that you showed us this! Amazing camera work and thanks for leaving such a detailed description of the Pilots journey and your own - backstory was so great!
I REALLY enjoyed watching this documentary. What an amazing journey, and Mikes aptitude, great attitude and humor really aided him in getting to the end successfully.
I wish everyone would heed the warning that marking beautiful pristine places on gps destroys them. Masterfully done! Your courage is commendable. Your respect is unique.
I love the translation of the Aboriginal People's viewpoint of life... and the value they place on EVERY living thing. They're older than the Buddhists and just as nice. This was a great hour of my time... Thanks, Mike. You are a remarkable human being to "show & tell" us that History lesson.
Having no idea about the whole history and living basically on the other side of the world.. That was beautiful and touching to watch.! I enjoyed every single second and i am glad you made it back in one piece sir. Thank you.
I'm only 20mins in and i can already tell you that i'm giving you a like and a sub and i'm definately going to watch the rest now in 1 sitting. Beautifully made video, also the funny parts in between are great to take a tiny moment away from the seriousness of the video. Nice effort and really really good, informative, great video and production, absolutely love it.👍😊
‘Really found this very emotional watching this. I found your doco really interesting. I have the upmost respect for you too mate for doing this. I hope you feel proud of yourself for completing your mission. I hope you got a nice big meal and hot shower! I did enjoy the commentary. Thankyou!! 😊
