For me it's the latest iteration of the WG-AR1000. Yes, that ancient machine gun with the insanely large ammunition store size. There's been an iteration of it in pretty much every generation, and while it sometimes wasn't very money efficient (AC 5's version was nerfed into the ground that way, as was Last Raven's.) it often was the tool to face any unknown and get through it. Quantity, it is said, is a quality all it's own. Yeah, the Moonlight is a must have, sure I want to see Karasawa again... but I want that blocky hunk of gleaming steel with the assurance that I'll have enough ammo come the apocalypse with me.
The Karasawa Mk2 and Mk3 were too OP. PVE wise I love it but PVP wise... I've seen a AC2 online event/tournament at Akihabara to witness the horrific PVP scene. Every player was using heavy 2 legged ACs with less EN consumption, side boosters, 12 lock on small missiles on both shoulders and a Karasawa. No action no style, just both players keeping their distance and shooting while dodging with the walking-side booster move.
You know what I really want? I want the Metal Wolf Chaos XD Moonlight where it's literally just the fantasy sword held as a gun and used inexplicably as a rocket laincher
It is the big question. This time will the moonlight be found by the player in a well hidden space or will they have to take it from the cold metal hands of another armored core. I think you might be onto something with the blue blade shown in the trailer. Plus it would be cool to see another character like anjou who uses the blade and has some history with the it like Shinkai. Still keep up the good work and look foward to seeing you in ac6.
I'm do hope it is from a boss kill and has a unique ability that makes the fight challenging and the Moonlight feel earned to possess and distinct to use.
@@lesslighter I would be satisfied with that, but I trust FromSoft to surprise returning fans with some things. Hopefully, Moonlight has some of those surprises.
The moonlight has a ranged attack in all iterations (1st gen and 2nd gen are human plus abilities) with the caveat that the hit explosion can cause self damage
I think the shot of the Laser lance enemy and the second shot from behind is just the same sequence from 2 separate angles. First angle from your point of view and the second from his. The mechs in both shots appear to be the same 2 mechs, just seen from different angles.
@@absurd.gaming I suppose you could be right. I do believe the featured enemy mech looks like you may be able to use it. I at least hope so, that weapon looks really fun to use as well as looks really cool.
The Laser Lance held by the blue, red-eyed AC with a back booster isn't the same as the weapon held by the player AC when they are doing the spinning strike with the massive blade. I do think that massively oversized blade is the Moonlight, but notice how it's wrist-mounted?
Yes, I am aware that the spinning strike clip is a different and wrist mounted weapon. Perhaps it was a poorly timed clip, but I had a lot to say about 2 seconds of footage and opted not to loop those same 2 seconds during my discussion. As to the oversized blade, I went through that clip frame by frame many times before determining it is handheld. if you look closely at the still frame at 3:35, you can see it is designed with a handguard and a pommel like a typical sword would have. I could be wrong, this is speculation after all. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding. Are you suggesting the 3:35 frame as Moonlight, or the 4:12 clip?
@justletmecomment6453 Oh okay. Yes, that one is wrist mounted. I had considered diving into that one as well because of the unique spinning animation. You could be right, and I wouldn't be disappointed. I'd love for Moonlight to have a distinct animation of its own!
Moonlight actually IS in sekiro, it's used by the divine dragon, a big glowing blue sword that shoots out waves of magic when swung witha. close association to dragons, its much like the dark souls version except it's a new (imo more interesting) design
I want to fight against enemies equipped with moonlight. The developers would also want to have enemies equipped with moonlight. Given this, I feel that it is more likely that we will be obtained it by defeating the enemy equipped with the moonlight, as in the case of Ange.
the moonlight project is baked into armored core one you need to boost while slashing the blade, bunkrupt enough times that limitation is removed to all blades via Human+, likewise AC2 is the same with moonlight equip boost while you blade, again with Human+ this limitation is removed to all blades, in AC3 unlock the blade wave function by doing the destroy massive weapon while the OP-I is equipped, of course the unlock method is different in Silent Line unlocks this ability to all the laser blades likewise its the same boost while you slash. the projectile is only removed in 4th gen and 5th gen ok so yeah in AC3 its infact tied to the OP-I option part and that moonlight ability is then moved to the TLS-SOL this is then removed in Last Raven where all blades will emit the wave
Thanks for mentioning the older gens! I was aware of Human+ in those games, however, I never engaged with the system because I never went bankrupt as you mentioned. Your insights give me hope that Moonlight could return with a ranged option once again!
i don't think we have seen it yet, like the white glint core I hope, it will be an endgame item my two real hope are the glint core, for those glorious winged propulsor, and of course the karasawa
I think moonlight has been projecting that long range wave since armored core 1 master of arena or even project phantasma, but i could be wrong. Great video tho 👌
In Gen 1-3, the Moonlight Blade wave is present, but it requires Human Plus or OP-Intensify. I was dissapointed they removed that ability in Gen4 and 5. I'm hoping it will return in AC6.
It could be Moonlight *and* a laser lance. Theres no rule that says it has to be a sword in AC. A laser lance might be more appropriate for its Greatsword heritage.
@@frowningmirror8097 sure, but I feel like the laser lance, assuming thats what were looking at, is a better fit for a greatsword than a regular AC sword, even one with the longest blade length. I dont think were going to be getting actual greatswords in AC anytime soon, and its not like the name technically means anything since theyre all actually just a blast of plasma shooting out of an emitter, not a sword or a lance at all. I wouldnt want it to be a gun, but if theres a bigger melee weapon then id rather it be that. I mean sice the swords of AC are traditionally wrist mounted with a few exceptions, "laser pata" would be more accurate anyway.
@@baval5 I think its more possible that this is either a "sword" and the lance is something else, or this "lance" went through changes in development to become this. I saw the concept art for the ultimate weapons for ACV and they went through some radical changes

I'm excited to see moonlight again but I want to be reunited with Karasawa.
I'm certain you will get your wish!

Yes. Its in every From Software game in some form pretty much, baring some rare exceptions
When Bloodborne was first released, I was hoping that their version of moonlight would've been red, considering the themes in Bloodborne.
