just finished my first playthrough. i kinda started to love and feel bad for iguazu. seeing him trapped, reading his lore on his arena mission, etc. love this character
Nobody is analyzing this character correctly because it has to come from the standpoint of caring. Think about this, an independent mercenary just killed a student pilot, and immediately afterward, Iguazu is in a mission with an independent mercenary, questioning the wisdom of it from the start...you can't assume that Iggy has no motivation because there is an unknown factor at play. At the start of your mission to take out the Tester AC, Walter said "Remember who you're messing with." You, right then, forgot. All of you did.
tbf to Iguazu, he had completely lost control of his life due to his gambling debts. Forced into augmentation and joining the Redguns, where Michigan played the role of Drill Sargent, it’s not surprising he’d want to take control back. What Volta realized that Iguazu didn’t is that Michigan _knew_ Iguazu could do better, do more than be a simple grunt. That Iguazu had reached the rank of Gun 5 in spite of his attitude shows just how highly Michigan thought of him and Volta. It’s a shame Michigan doesn’t survive, a final moment between him and Iguazu would’ve been a great addition to the story.
I love lore videos that actually look outside the game and try to piece together the greater historical context to figure out the designer's intent -- great stuff, keep it up!
water isn’t necessarily correlated to sexuality. It’s more so emotions and how they flow. With this context and then looking at the story of G5 you see a character deeply connected to their emotions and its flows to the point of no control. Erasing rational thinking in favor for emotions such as jealousy, anger, wrath, pride and so on. Over the course of the game these emotions in G5 flow into an amplified state. Also as well to my point the game mentions, “Coral flow” often. This game is a very emotion based game and your decisions are mostly based on emotions. (at least in the first playthrough.) Edit: The game really subtly revolves around G5 and his emotions. The water correlation with the name “Iguazu” and “Coral” and “School of Fish” and so on. You as the player can sympathize with G5 more than any character because compared to the other characters, G5 is very human.
So the core of Iggy’s character arc is that he starts as a toxic gamer and becomes a raging incel due to his envy of Chad Lobotomite and can’t even comprehend disembodied alien gf, making him a prime target for a shadowy manipulator to convince him to commit mass murder?

Also can't believe the clips of the river was struck (only thing I noticed switched). Still a solid video, any time I hear sailor lore it's awesome.

I more see Iguazu as a foil to us (and maybe 'True' Raven as well) for being a 'Raven' - a powerful self-determinate independent mercenary. Unfortunately, as is perhaps implied by his emblem (if one looks closely enough) he is a ornery stag battle that had it's body and wings gnawed away by army ants (perhaps a reference to Michigan and his drill instructor ways - and all the other soldiers of Balam that adore him). In the old (Generation 3, for me at least) sense of it, Iguazu is a Raven who never got the chance to 'fly' - despite following that dark tradition of falling into dept and being augmented for AC combat. Theoretically, Iguazu would have been 'happier' if he was a Raven in another universe - despite clawing his way out of dept and eventually being randomly defeated by the Player-Protagonist Raven of a differing setting. It's rather interesting to think about that - with Branch in mind - 'freedom' is a very rare thing within the human universe of Armored Core 6, if there is a small special group of mercenaries that attempt to allow the activities of 'Raven's' or really many others that want 'freedom'...

For a moment seeing this re-uploaded made me think TH-cam came over with the hammer because of the mention of stuff like sexuality and substitutes for the intimacy found in it (Under healthy circumstances that is). Though I will bring back my comment on the old one in case anyone might have their own thoughts to add onto it, given the old one is now marked as private. Those sexuality undertones I completely missed through the entire story, and even now I'm not sure fully what to think about it with that in mind. I can see how it explains Iguazu's envy of our (Admittedly, unusual in my opinion) relationship with Ayre, even though I simply just viewed him as envious of us for being better. In some ways, I can kind of sympathize with him in wanting to be as good as us (There's someone I met on Discord who's this absolute powerhouse of a player, and I've wanted to try to match his skill. Though that isn't really a possibility, something I've accepted and moved on from that dream), but he took it the wrong way. Though with what you mentioned about said undertone via water and all that, it does make me wonder how it at least would change one's dynamic with Ayre if someone chose Fires of Raven...
There is one thing i'm doubting to a extent: that Ayre's voice reaching Iguazu is purely responsible for his head-aches. If Iguazu kills us beforehand, he doesn't suffer the amplifying white noise. He also acts like it's happened before we even met or went near him. In fact: we can face him at the Gallia Dam, and we don't even have Contact with Ayre, yet he still suffers from the head-ache inducing noise from the coral. As for the severity of his ringing, it was far far worse than 621's case, yet we can hear it behind Ayre's voice. The difference is, Allmind calls Ayre a C-Pulse Wave Mutation. She's a anomalous case. The rest of the time 621 hears the coral flow, there isn't any other clear voice, only varying white noise. Ayre's the only one that can truly speak to 621. Iguazu likely has his own Coral voices in his head, but it's very possible the surgeons fucked it up by a excessive amount of Coral- even if slightly too much and/or improperly applied, enough to make his head ring more intensely with even louder unidentifiable coral communication. After all, the greater Coral Flow exists in a place, the more 621 could hear it, but even then, it wasn't that bad to them. To Iguazu, i could see that becoming absolute torture. Although, the part of 621 dying in institute city to Iguazu, seems accurate. Ayre's voice is far more potent, ringing too, compared to the rest of the Coral. If Iguazu's Coral voices in his head is enough to be agony, then Ayre's would be torture even if he could hear her voice. And since Ayre can even go to a ibis series mech and take over, clearly showing greater strength than other coral voices, then maybe Ayre could swap to someone else now that she was seperated from the swallowing Coral Flow, and she had only one choice, to jump ship to him in that moment when 621 died.
Great video but who is playing? Is there a reason they're not using the lock-on? Looks like it just makes the game 10x harder and it's difficult to watch.
The sudden jitters seem like Keyboard and Mouse. The aim still had Soft-lock, which is actually better than Hard-lock - given that you can keep up with a foe. The jittering isn't bad for me but it looks like the person playing has a unsteady hand, maybe when pressing buttons on the mouse like clicking.
I think your Look Sensitivity screws with the video... it seems extremely jumpy and sporadic. (especially the final fight) This isn't really a game where turning Horizontal/Vertical view sensitivity matters

his stint at freelancing failed so Michigan accepted him back at balam. he needed more scratch to hire coldcall
