i think the shade eye head piece translation just fucked up entirely. because the german version states: "vom späher AC der RaD abgeleitetes sonderteil, das von einer anonymen Söldnergrupierung für den Kampfeinsatz völlig umgebaut wurde und moderner aber komplexer ist als sein vorgänger" translated it means: "from the Rad recon AC derivated special piece that an anonymous mercenary group rebuilt completely, wich made it more modern but also far more complex then its predecessor." basically the anonymous mercenary group took the RaD headpiece and heavily modified it. it wasnt RaD that built it.
- Nigtfall's name is the opposite of White Glint. - Female Operator with very calm voice like MoA, LR and 4A. - Use starter AC frame to show that if the players loses, it's skill issue. So many old gen players can kill the final bosses with starter AC. - Never talk. Let's his operator do all the talking. - Has Karl Urban as it's Raven. This character is a pure fanservice for old fan.
@wewilltakejerusalem3092 He's the actor who played the role of Judge Dredd in the "Dredd" movie, Fromsoftware released an AC6 Advertisement that he was in, it's on here if you search it
@@hideous_taco_michael_zacki the actor who played Billy Butcher in The Boys. He also appeared in the live action trailer for AC6 that Bandai Namco made, but he has no voice acting role in the game itself.
Hell getting jobs from thier handler would have been great at some point as well or even a fourth route and another ending with raven as the final boss or some such would have been dope
Just a reminder, Supplice and White Glint (the poster children for 4th gen) only appeared for 1 mission (WG appeared in 2, but one is an alternative to the same mission). Being the poster kid doesn't mean that you need tons of lore (again supplice wad just a regular dude using a stock ac, and white glint was the protagonist from AC4). personally, i thought the reveal that raven was still alive and how they revealed it was pretty cool.
They did the same thing in elden ring aswell, where the most prominent character on the posters and cover of the game was Vyke, who only gets a few appearances in the actual game itself
I thought the poster children in 4th gen were Nobleese Oblige and White Glint. Not Supplice. Nobleese was featured in the trailer and opening video for 4. I still remember how stoked people were to fire them back cannons on reveal day for that trailer.
@@shaun_on_guitar when you fight the big PCA tank Ac thing by itself the PCA pilot thinks you are the real raven and talks about how your leak caused the planet to go hell. That leak being coral is back on rubicon
@@shaun_on_guitar During the CATAPHRACT mission, it’s implied that Nightfall Raven was the mercenary who stole information of the Coral and disseminated it to Balam and Arquebus. He was a black ops mercenary who had no digital footprint or way to trace him aside from the fact that he was the current holder of the name “Raven”. And so the PCA is specifically hunting Nightfall Raven because none of the corporations would have figured out about Coral if not for him.
I also don't buy the whole "617 is Raven" theory. Even if they were both involved with Overseer in one way or another, that doesn't mean they are the same person, and there's no real evidence connecting the two as the same person either. The timing of 617's mission and Raven leaking the PCA data also doesn't really line up. When 621 arrives on Rubicon, the corporations have already been operating on Rubicon for some time, but Walter says that 617 and the others did what they did in order to get 621 on Rubicon in the first place. This makes it more likely that Raven and Branch leaked the PCA data before 617's mission in the story trailer. The loadout of Nightfall we encounter in the game is also still basically the same as the Nightfall seen in the trailer (with the exception of the Songbirds replacing the Ludlow), and the wreckage from the first mission. Raven's operator also says "That's the mercenary who took your name," and "we're not here to take back the Raven name," giving more reason to believe this is the same Raven who survived their AC being downed, rather than a new person trying to take up the mantle of "Raven."
@@corvus9359yeah the timing not matching up is what's making this (ftr very very cool) theory not make sense to me. I also don't see why Walter would need to fight the PCA before the corps are there and a threat. Afaik PCA wants to lock down the coral. I guess Walter fights them in game, but that's when the 4 way war between corps, freedom fighters, and PCA is a thing, and there is no telling how that goes. The corps could still win and misuse the Coral.
Fromsolf is not unknown for doing this. in Elden Ring, we keep hearing praise for the Demigod Miquela, the most fearsome Imperian. yet turn out he just some corpse hidden in Mogwind Palace. and now, the DLC is prime to tell the untold story that seemingly what Miquela is up to all this time. If there ever to be DLC for AC6, I bet it will be about Branch.
I think a better example is Vyke, who is literally also the poster boy of elden ring, yet only appears twice and his lore, while expanded upon way more than Nightfall Raven's, is still rather cryptic.
Regarding Nightfall getting RAD parts, doesn't Carla mention that RAD tech gets sold in the black market? That could explain how Nightfall got his parts.
Nightfall Raven is pretty much the one who instills the idea in 621 and Ayre that they *can* choose their own path, if you ask me. I feel like if they stuck around longer their already perfect moment would be lost; I already feel like the alternate dam mission is just an objectively worse mission thematically so they could justify a tougher fight.
Thematically the alternate Dam fight is payback for the Index guy you undoubtedly ganked when you first started the game. Notice how when you attack the dam you have a tank, a guy with a shield and you who were likely stuck with a middle weight biped and probably a rifle and blade. This is just the opposite. Most AC games have a mission where you fight multiple ACs at the same time. Same with the destroying the giant armored fortress. There are also usually missions where there are 2 bridges at the start of the game when your EN efficiency is quite low. Think of it like a checklist of things you need to do to that ties all the games together.
btw the way Nightfall turns in the field of MT wrecks and stands on the downed ship is exactly how we turned to Rusty when he catches up to us in unknown underground mission before finding the institute city
i think they did a fantastic job, having you get to be the ac joining in midway in HIS mission, and having to fight him in the graveyard he just finished making
4:59 Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn’t the description for the Shade Eye helmet imply that it's a Finder Eye that was heavily modified by Branch, rather then being outright made by RaD?
@@absurd.gaming It's probably also worth mentioning that right after we first hear Carla's voice in Grid 087, Ayre does some quick research, and tells us that Carla joined RaD only 3 years ago, "bringing with her a crew of junk wizards and hackers." Also, a data log from a wreck in Grid 012 contains dialogue from a Junker Coyote who incredulously comments that Carla looks far too young to have survived the Fires of Ibis. I think it's likely that, as a member of Overseer, she'd used cryosleep to extend her lifespan, so she could be present when the Coral inevitably reemerged and Walter returned to Rubicon-3. Just some extra deets to paint a more complete picture. Not sure if it supports or refutes anything you've said.
I think its more likely coral extends a person’s lifespan and she is either a doser, like many of the factions in that area, or is augmented in some way herself This doesnt rule out cryosleep though, as im not 100% sure about my theory
@@d4arken3ds0ul It was a Coyote who commented that there's no way Carla could be a Cinder since she looks too young. If Coral makes people age slower, wouldn't a Coyote know? Between the Dosers, the followers of Dolmayan's Coral mysticism, and Rubiconians in general (who have survived on mealworms gronw with Coral), wouldn't it be common knowledge? It think it's meant to be conspicuous that Carla in particular is older than she seems, and not for a reason that would almost certainly apply to nearly every inhabitant of Rubicon-3.
it's impried that she is one of the main 3 coral researchers of the institute, the people who developed the friggn C-Weapons so she might know a thing or two more about coral and the ways to use it than any other person on the planet. just cause the dosers use coral as a drug or the liberation front as food through those worms doesn't turn them into augmented humans, and even between augmented humans there are several generations with different effects. she might as well have found a way to slow her aging while experimenting in the labs in her past.
I really feel like they meant to do more with Nightfall, or they're really optimistic about a 2nd installment in the Rubicon timeline. Mostly because Raven's operators says they'll keep an eye on you.
It's implied there's far more than one Raven at a time by them if you attack both Chartreuse and King simultaneously, meaning Nightfall possibly isn't the only Raven we have to worry about, that there's a Raven's Nest somewhere, and with the finish of the mission, now you can go find them, meaning the next AC game if it continues off of AC6 may be harder than AC6 already is, though I don't think it'll be Last Raven levels of harsh.
I honestly wish the Defend the Dam Complex had it as a full 3v1. As it is I can usually kill the first one before the second one gets to help and by the time Nightfall actually reaches the fight I can pretty reliably have killed the second AC. Fighting 3 ACs at once would make for a much more memorable mission.
I did play through it once intentionally not killing any of the other ACs until NIGHTFALL arrived so I could kill him first, but it didn't give any new dialogue that was very interesting.
@@absurd.gamingthere is a video on TH-cam that shows every voice interaction an the defend the dam mission and there are special dialogues for killing nightfall first
nah fuck outta here lmao. sentiments like this prove that fans should have next to no say in balance. how it's currently implemented is perfect, as you're tested on your ability to kill an AC quick enough before both of the others close in on you; If you take too long, the other two will join the fight. a 3v1 mission from the jump--especially against three strong pilots/AC's(Nightfall can oneshot lightweights with assault armor+pilebunker) would've been a nightmare to play against. as it is it's plenty memorable since it's the only time you fight Branch and one of the only times you see Nightfall!Raven. making the fight a bitch to do would make it "memorable" in how obnoxious it is. plus: if you want the 3v1 fight...then just trigger the fight and then wait. they'll all join in and then you can have your "challenge".
I love the NIGHTFALL fights, but I wish it was MUCH harder. This is the person with whom we stole our identity. He was the poster boy also. I saw a pilebunker and hoped it would be a nightmare.
@@FSVR54 It's nerding time. I'd say he's freaking weak if you look closely into his build. Scudder rifle is bad and doesn't combine with other weapons, and the spread missile launcher is also a D tier weapon at best. Also he sports some pretty bad generator and boosters that make him exhaust quickly and he stays wide open. Only things that pose a threat are songbirds and pile bunker but he rarely ever uses it effectively.
The connections people make between CGI trailers and plot expectations are completely lost on me here. Are people really feeling like they were mislead because Raven was in the trailer and wasn't prominent in the game? Because people did the same thing with Benedikta in Final Fantasy 16, and it was equally bizarre. The characters in trailers are really only there to sell you on the theme of the game, and what I saw with Raven and Benedikta is exactly what I got in the game.
I think that is a lot of connection between Allmind and the Branch and almost none between Overseers and the Branch. Nightfall operator its the only person beside Allmind that calls your character "augmented human c4-621", station 31 its the place you confront Allmind as its some kind of her base. You fight Chartreuse on top of watchpoint delta in the arena(this might be a forced coincidence from my part). If you think about it Allmind benefits the most from the branch and OG Raven actions in her plan for coral release. Allmind intends to integrate OG Raven in her final mind gamma program, its literally what she tells you after you defeat him in the arena. Allmind its primary an AI to support mercenaries, its what you learn from the beginning of the game before she goes rogue later on. I thought a lot on the connection between 617 and OG Raven and for sure there is something there, in the story trailer they assault Watchpoint Alpha 15, the wall from that trailer you can see it in the background near the old spaceport where you confront Nightfall for the first time. But in a nutshell he wears the same body parts as 617,there is an old sketch with branch where he doesn't have a head implying that during that time he was repaired and got this head, like your character he doesn't have any voice that could imply both of you are from the same mold. Of course there are a lot of details that disproves him being 617 but since I am not sure how careful was from soft to tie in all of loop holes in the story I just listed what is the most obvious and direct clues. I am quite certain if there will be a dlc it will be about Nightfall, Ravens and what they represent as a whole and probably PCA can't see how could they expand the story of vanilla AC6 without answering that, unless they shoot straight to a stand alone game.
In that same sketch data log, the artist mentioned never having meet the 4th member. You'd think it was talking about 617, but maybe it was talking about the operator, aka allmind, all along and 617 is one of the girls.
It wasn't nightfall's pilot it was their operator that called you that. Ravens always work alongside an operator who's role is similar to that of Walter. It if there is DLC for AC6 then it probably won't be the last time we interact with the Ravens. And I say Ravens and not Raven because according to what the operator said when you destroy her pilots AC and also based on the description of Nightfall's head piece which you get in new game + the Raven organization is alive and kicking and working more from the shadows as opposed to out in the open like they used to.
Operator is not Allmind even if she calls you "augmented human c4-621", could just mean she was informed/briefed by Allmind, the operator its the young girl from the sketch. The missing 4th member its clearly Nightfall, it just plays in his mysterious, reclusive character and again he is not Allmind. 617 its not female, you can hear his voice near the end of story trailer @@belldrop7365
@@belldrop7365operators don't wear Flightsuits, in the branch sketch you see King(big guy) Chartuce(can't spell her name at moment too low coffee, however she is in the other flight suit) Who is next to him Last is The woman in the black pantsuit
I mean, there are so many good characters on AC6, the antagonists quota is filled to the brim, the grey characters as well, and the truly good side characters has Rusty, who is so overwhelmingly awesome that no one else can possible share his side without getting instantly suffocated/overshadowed
how about flatwell who works together with rusty and pobably is the one who got him into his undercover spot in the first place through his connections at snider from his own under cover time. He even tries to convince rusty to not attack you in the tunnel cause he sees you as someone who could help their common goal at that time.
Oh stop it. You guys dont want to see more of Raven. You think you do because of the whole "independence" and the ambiguity of what Raven will do next schtick. The reality is as soon as the writer decides what Raven does about half of you are gonna hate it because it wont align with what YOU think Raven should be doing. They went with you fighting Raven because more of you would have questioned why we didnt get to fight the pilot whos ID we stole. You get to fight Raven. Be happy. I sure wasnt when I had to fight him after Chartreuse and King.
It feels like Nightfall and his handler were setting up future content, like DLC's. I know this was a bit of a lesser title compared to Fromsofts other works like elden ring, so DLC might be less likely, but we hear about a hacktivist group being made up of four people and only meet 2. And King seems to know more about the ravens than he lets on. Nightfall also seems to be here for a reason. Diologue from a PCA boss implies they were after him, and for a leak of some kind, and the PCA scouring the city in the first mission still adds to the idea they are hunting Nightfall. It's likely he faked his death or narrowly survived/ejected to get the PCA off his trail. And then you come along and take his name. Which later leads the PCA into sending a cataphract who realizes you aren't the 'raven' he was expecting, fighting differently than the simulations. My suspicion is Nightfall was the one to leak the information about Coral on the planet. Knowing it would bring conflict. If Ravens do as they please it's entirely possible Nightfall instigated the conflict for a reason, maybe to continue testing their skills or something else. As no ending really goes into that. Just two or three mission implying Raven is even more than just your callsigns previous owner. And also opens up the fact that there are multiple Ravens out there. Perhaps they avoid eachother, like two apex predators. Which is why Nightfall seems to hell bent to defeat you, cause you are both Raven and there can only be one active on a single planet? Whether you understand the name and history you've taken on or not, he must kill you or die and officially pass it onto you. This isn't the same as previous Ravens in games, which is more of an over arching term for mercenary AC pilots. But now seems to be a far more exclusive group of pilots who are extremely skilled and make their own paths. I personally don't think he's 617. He is Raven, he leaked something and then faked his death and got a new AC with a custom head bought specifically from Carla. He has a handler who seems to have a history with them as she seems to genuinely want him to not die and is saddened when he loses the first time you encounter him(She mentions 'we will monitor you). I think they are seperate characters.
I think its funny how raven can keep cheating death Unless its a new one each time, as its an inherited callsign, that pilot always manages to eject based on the dialogue
The branch has 4 personnel, 3 pilots; nightfall, king, the tank girl, and 1 operator; the girl. And at the end of defend the dam mission, we kill them all except the operator (if you defeated the first 2 acs and lost to nightfall, the operator confirmed that both of them died)
What we ended up with here is a teaser of what is outside of Rubicon-3. This isn't Nightfall's story. It's ours, and we were passed a torch with a legacy nobody but a select few could comprehend. This is perfect for newcomers and vets alike, the possibilities are wide open.
I think one of AC6's larger flaws overall is how easy the fights against other ACs are. They really should have given Raven an extremely competent AI (maybe even let it cheat a little bit) so as to make it a lot more meaningful of an encounter. But with that said, I'm glad they didn't dwell on it too long. It's par for the FromSoft course to have the poster character "just another dude". There's so many other stories that focusing too much on Raven would have gotten in the way.
The story trailer is a prequel to the game, and all three of those pilots are definitely dead. 620 and 619 just got completely destroyed, and 617's assault armor attack caused an explosion in that PCA compound that seemingly killed him. That mech does not look survivable. There's a voice that says "617 down," likely meaning dead, and if you have a remote surveillance on a mech that says "signal lost" and not "vital signs lost", they're probably still super dead. I mean, think. Even if you draw a distinction between two such messages, "Vital signs lost" would just mean that the system detects the pilot's death, and "Signal lost" after a big ass explosion that leaves only a scrap husk of the AC probably means the the equipment was so destroyed that you're not gonna have a vital sign readout at all. Not to mention Walter says "Their jobs" in response to Carla asking "What happened to them," which means "Their jobs killed them." Last but not least, Sulla expressly mentions that Walter's hounds have a track record of dying; in the case of 618, at his own hand. We don't see anything about 617, 619, and 620 in the game because they are dead and gone before the game begins, and their memory isn't all that important. They were disposable hounds who gave their lives to the mission without question. The story trailer exists to set the tone for the game. It does exactly that, and wondering why we don't see 617 appear in the game isn't all that different from the crackpot theorists that thought Noble 6 survived being jumped by elites and glassed at the end of Halo Reach, or the ones that thought Ghost and Roach survived being shot and incinerated in the original Modern Warfare 2. Yes, they're all badasses, but they are dead as hell. Edit: Also, there's no way that 617 is Nightfall. The RaD mech that they all use is clearly not that uncommon. If 617 really did survive and become Nightfall, there's no way they would have neglected to mention it or even allude to it once via dialogue at any point in the story. I suppose it's not impossible, and maybe a DLC could prove me wrong, but as it stands there is nothing really supporting the theory aside from "They're both RaD mechs that lost their left arm once" and that's really not enough.
Finally someone who played the game with some sense in here. This video is reaching way too hard for a character that simply exists for you to take their ID.
@@sameerdodger Honestly, despite Nightfall not playing a bigger role outside of leaking the Coral's existence on Rubicon III, I feel like the "Defend the dam" mission opens up a can of worms that there POSSIBLY could be a Raven's Nest, though I wouldn't count on it considering how the game treats the title "Raven" as a one-unit-only title.
I’ve been avoiding vids like this until I finished the 3 endings, and now that I have, I have a theory: I think Nightfall was a red herring so they could hide the fact Iguazu was the true final final boss. We all would’ve anticipated Allmind (average Hustler 1 hostilities), but Iguazu was never someone we would’ve considered and honestly, it’s kinda meta that we all would’ve disregarded him, since that’s his biggest insecurity. Outside of that, I’ve got nothing. Outside of fromsoft doing the same thing they did with Vyke. I believe both Raven and Vyke are super crucial to their respective game’s lore as legends, but we fight them in a pretty easy encounter about twice lol. In both we get told more about them than we see. It makes me wonder that if us defeating the cover art/poster boy of the game, it’s supposed to be a “handing off the torch” from one Main Character(that was around long before you/the senior), to you, the New Main Character(the new, promising rookie). But again that’s just a theory. I would’ve wanted some missions with Nightfall as an alley but I wonder if fromsoft has future plans for him since the marketing campaign put so much into him. Great vid btw and I appreciate the 617 accurate build
If they do decide to do an expansion, whether it’s a DLC or a quasi-expand- alone similar to previous AC games, this would be what my money would be on. The game’s endings are way too variable to allow for a sequel unless they pick one canon ending, which I don’t think they’d do, so it’s either a prequel or additional routes for the current main plot. Either way there’s fertile ground for further development, whether it’s more on Branch, the true nature and origins of Allmind, or more on some of the more enigmatic characters like V1 Freud.
I honestly like how mysterious Nightfall remains. I don't know a lot about older AC titles or the world beyond AC6, but with the inconsistencies regarding if a pilot dies when the AC is destroyed I assumed Nightfall survived and the Ravens would keep observing us from a distance. It felt like a nice touch, even though they never reappeared.
FromSoftware put ALLOT of blatant symbolism and story context clues in quite a few AC designs, and I was certain this was no accident with Raven having an RAD mech. Im glad someone finally put this together!
That cinematic trailer should have been played before the first mission when you start the game, it's important context to the player, also i'm sure they will explore Nightfall in the inevitable expansion sequel of AC6, like 4 answer and verdict day.
Its mostly the same with White Glint too. Saw him in the trailers and such, and he stuck around for one mission and was in the arena and all that too. Same for Berlioz.
Atleast they didn't get the Silent Line treatment. Poor Intro AC doesn't appear *ONCE.* not even in that game's Arena. Only making a cameo in Last Raven's VR Arena
Game’s been out for a month; We haven’t seen any DLC yet. All we can do is look at all the evidence, piece together what we can through speculation and wait. Saying From failed is hasty and arrogant.
... One thing to note, the Shade Eye Head Piece, the Nightfall Head Piece, states "Custom part derived from the scout AC head developed by RaD. Comprehensively rebuilt for combat by an anonymous independent mercenary group, this model takes some steps forward but sacrifices the minimalism of its predecessor." so it wasn't truly developed by RaD but built off their Finder Eye type...
Perhaps this was deliberate. To show that, despite being an incredible warrior, you are still just another cog in the machine, waiting to be eventually and inevitably replaced. Quite apt.
Your exceptional content is what makes the game's lore even more fascinating. It not only enriches the narrative but also provides the community with a platform to explore and express alternative ideas. Thank you for your contributions!
AC4A was marketed on the back of White Glint. She got A mission with 2 perspectives. The idea is each piece of the story is disposable. The Rubiconians are afraid of C weapons, but you eventually reach a level where you dispose of the weapons with relative ease.
The pilot of White Glint is not a she, that was just an error in translation in his arena description, also many confuse his operator(Fiona) and him being the same person just because he doesn't talk
To me, I felt satisfied enough with nightfalls role in the story. The way I interpret it, him not being too tied to the narrative is ironically what makes them interesting. In all of the promo and the start of the game, you see this elusive mercenary. This merc that looks so cool, you want that armor and you wanna look as cool as them. You wanna know their story. But i feel nightfall is metely a reflection of 621s eventual story arc. Nightfall and their operator work for no one but themselves. They aren't chained to anyone or any organization like bow 621 is chained to Walter. 621s battle with nightfall is a test of resolve. Nightfall knows that 621 has stolen their identity. The "raven" identity is a symbol of resolve and the will to choose what you fight for. And Nightfall is merely there to test if 621 is worthy of carrying the raven name. If he has the potential to choose. And when 621 wins the battle, nightfall and their operator leave the rest to 621. So while nightfalls missions is relatively seperate from the greater plot, i like to think the nightfall fight had an affect on 621s personal growth as a character. But i can see why you feel this way. I personally had a similar feeling towards Vargram in elden ring.
I think Nightfall is there to reflect and partially subvert the usual AC poster boy tropes. For a series veteran, encountering him for the first time has the same feeling as fighting White Glint in 4A, who was the protagonist of 4. Alternatively, he feels like one of the rival pilots from many of the other games, but rather than fighting him again later, he's defeated on the spot and the player continues the legacy.
Raven served his purpose in the story. He’s the classic Armored core raven that’s a merc that takes work from whoever is paying and let’s the work speak for itself. Some stories are better left untold.
Heres hoping a DLC would give us more story option like working with Branch, siding with Balam/Redguns, or crazy enough working with the PCA. Hell, i would love to see the Student Pilot get develop into a mini story. The mission based structure makes it soooo easy to add in more story.
Side tangent, but considering that the fires happened 50+ years prior to AC6, Carla would at least be 70+ years old by the game's events, but she doesn't sound like it. I suspect she's an AI just like Chatty Stick. That or the Coral somehow mutated her and gave her an extended lifespan. Even Ayre notes her skepticism when she hears Carla's nickname "Cinder"
It's just like the cover art of elden ring it shows the character vyke not the player even though vyke isn't even like a main character in the game or the lore
This is how Fromsoft operates. From Gwyn being a legendary king of fire devolving into a husk and having a nameless Undead come at the 11th Hour to put him out of his misery The foreign swordsmen on the bridge in Sekiro who journeyed to save his son only to die in mere minutes by a chance encounter Godfrey being described as the ultimate Elden Lord only for him to fail just before he succeeds a second time... And now C4-617 and a band of other mercenaries with an intricate plan only to be shanked barely halfway through 621's own path? Fromsoft has a LEGACY of giving us mere glimpses of expansive and in depth tales told from a passing third party perspective. It's bittersweet to understand that they simply arent our stories to know.
I think it's worth mentioning that even though 617 and Raven could have both been involved with Overseer in one way or another, that doesn't mean they are the same person, and there's nothing actually solid connecting the two as the same person. Walter wouldn't know that he needs to get to Rubicon in the first place without Raven and Branch leaking the information that the Coral is still active and gathering on Rubicon. This means that Walter wouldn't have any reason to send the Hounds in unless Raven was already active on Rubicon to leak the PCA's data. It's also worth noting that the weapon loadouts used by 617's AC and Nightfall are completely different. If they were meant to be the same person, there should be more clues. ACFA is an example of this, where Otsdarva and Thermidor were the same person, and that was reflected in how Stasis and Unsung were built to fulfill very similar roles and used almost the exact same weapons loadout. By contrast, the Nightfall wreckage that 621 takes Raven's license from still has almost the same loadout as the Nightfall encountered later in the game. It's also not unheard of for pilots to survive their ACs being wrecked in AC6. When Raven encounters 621, Raven's operator says, "That's the mercenary who took your name," and "we're not here to take back the Raven name," insinuating that this is the same Raven who was piloting the Nightfall that we scavenged the license from at the beginning of the game, not another pilot who the name "Raven" was meant to be passed on to. Also to say Armored Core 6 was marketed on the backs of Nightfall and 617 is a bit of a stretch if you ask me. At the time the trailers were released, we knew nothing. As far as anyone knew, Nightfall was just a random AC, just like that Balam AC that showed up turned out to be a random AC that doesn't appear in the game. The purpose of the story trailer with 617 was more to set up Walter's character and give players an idea of what kind of world we'd be stepping into. Nightfall's role in the story is basically the same as the poster ACs of the 4th Gen games. Supplice and White Glint, like Nightfall, are important to the context of the story, but don't actually appear much in the actual story.
The game trailer is the fires of ibis war and its fire, a good pre story story, and remember we are always raven, always raven, from the first to the last, it might be our 5th gen pilot from verdict day or not, but in the end we are all raven. Raven/Nightfall is also a bad ass, he uses our junker starter old gen AC and only added a pod and a pile. I wont lie, his a damn good pilot and hella of a pilot flying around in old gen armor. I would not be surprised if more lore comes out that he is a from our line of Raven from AC1 to current. Our ac6 pilot is the only one not to be but still becomes a true raven in the end
When you find the destroyed AC, hes in crater in shambles. also something to note is that 617 narrowly escaped death when taking down that beam cannon in the trailer as well and became raven soon after he was probably recovered by Carla or someone from branch. those details will probably never be clear but, I definitely believe 617 is Nightfall and that he worked closely with Carla. She also must have ties to Branch which seems to be an organization of independents separate from Allmind. I like that they call it branch. sounds like a nice place to put a nest, right?... A Ravens Nest?.. Eh? This all makes sense because Carla is a fantastic hacker, who better to leak the information about the Coral to the corporations. Also take note that During the mission to Kill MilkTooth. there is a data Log about Carla, it states shes was around during the fires of Ibis despite her youthful appearance. This definitely would be possible in a futuristic setting much like Cyberpunk where people can augment their looks. I feel like they needed the corporations involved in this as The PCA are way to strong for the RLF, (Rubicon Liberation Front) to handle on their own. Ravens Wreckage there might have been from retrieving this information for Carla and leaking it to the corporations. I also believe there can Only be one Raven at a time. Much like the " Rule of two" in Starwars. There can only be One Raven, maybe. Nightfall knew about Our background, they knew about Walter. Possibly because they are 617 or Carla's involvement with Branch. you can hear this when we encounter Nightfall in that mission. After we Defeat Nightfall, The Operator says " Raven, we can still!... Ok, We'll watch this one. Lets see how far they can fly on a Ravens wings" At this point you've officially become the new Raven. It would be pretty awesome for the new operator to take over at this point, giving you missions instead of Walter. that be something. They did say they where watching you. and you are Officially raven now. Its also worthwhile to note that Every new Generation of Armored Core gets at least 2 installments. This is the first game in Generation 6. Im more then confident that we well be seeing another Armored Core game. "AC6 Return of the Raven" er something like that. We would be operating under this Lady, getting missions and such. Cant wait to see it!
Same thing kinda happens with White Glint in AC4A if you think about it. I believe White Glint is even piloted by the player character from AC4. Only shows up in I think two missions, which are just branching paths of each other. However, there's a lot less intrigue about White Glint. In AC6 they make a big deal about you taking on the Raven moniker and taking the reins of Branch and Raven/Nightfall's handler is like "OK, I'll keep an eye on this one." . . . and then nothing. White Glint is a cool cameo and a difficult arena opponent, but otherwise has no significant connection to the AC4A PC like how Raven/Nightfall do to the AC6 PC... I kept wondering when the Raven subplot would continue after fighting Raven/Nightfall... and... welp... it doesn't. I'm hoping FromSoft continues the trend of at least one direct sequel per generation (I'll take two or three tbh) and we get a "AC6A" so to speak that continues this timeline somehow and maybe involves Branch a little more.
They said after taking defeat that they would watch this one and allow us to operate as Raven from that point on. It make sense that we never see them again.
There is actually a path forward... They do a NINEBALL with KNIGHTFALL. Every AC generation has had an accompanying stand-alone expansion that can use the savegame data of related games. Now, they only have to think of a nice word pun involving the Roman numerals and letters "V I"
Well, nightfall is showing on the box art, and only appeared in only one level well cover a ACs have been nothing new in the armored core series armored core 1 was angfang he only showed up in the intro and in master of arena nineball was present throughout the game story then generation to happen. We see leios kein in the cover art, which is the main antagonist of the game. In armored core nexus event, evangel showed up in the intro cutscene and poster of the game cover art even have a collectors edition of him. In armored core last raven it was BJ he only showed up in in the game intro and the arena and that’s it. Generation four we see Berlioz and white glint in both cover arts and both intros for a Armored Core 4 and for answer respectively but as for white glint, we thought the Mech in mission defeat white glint. Lesley, we have the fifth generation Armored Core 5 vendetta showing up in the intro cinematic being rebuilt, we fight him twice in the main campaign before being killed off by the dark raven and in armored core verdict day, the lone mercenary piloted c03 malicious which is the same Mech that blue magnolia used, but with a different head and arms. This is a Armored Core were talking about. This is what we expected. To break it down I have a list of ac poster child/box art ACs 1. Armored core 1 - angfang 2. Armored core master of arena - annihilator, and nineball seraph 3. Armored core 2 Leos klein 4. Armored core nexus - evangel 5. Armored core last raven - BJ 6. Armored core 4 - Berlioz 7. Armored core for answer white glint/Anatolia’s Mercenary 8. Armored core 5 - vendetta hangman and tank AC 9. Armored core verdict day - the lone Mercenary 10. Armored core 6 fires of rubicon - nightfall
He very well may show up to a much higher degree in the sequel/expansion. The statement by his handler in the mission where you beat him and the other two independents, leads me to believe they will be watching 621. BTW, the analysis was good. Keep up the good work with your videos 👍
That feeling of - "that's it?" is probably exactly what the devs were going for. That's the feeling I had for almost every single character I killed. Set aside characters like Iguanadon, Walter, Carla, etc. - I always felt like the characters didn't even get a chance for some meaningful final words. They're just gone... And this is exactly what they were going for. You're a merc. You're worth very little to nothing in the Corporations eyes. A tool to be used and discarded whenever convenient. Just the thing is, you are not the only one being treated that way. Everyone in a mech on Rubicon is basically treated that way (yes, few exceptions, but again *FEW* )
The idea of 617 being Nightfall is awesome As for Nightfall's under-utilization, I'm also saddened. His Operator says she'd keep an eye on 621, so I assumed they'd have a more impactful role (perhaps serving to nurture 621 into a proper Raven rather than just a Hound)
To think there are two possibilities for how you even survive entry to rubicon. Consider the railgun shot that clips your entry pod but fails to hit your AC directly. Either: The branch OP damaged LOC STATION 31 in such a manner that delayed its targeting solution. You were just too fast, from the very moment you woke up.
Raven / Nightfall may seem insignificant but you take your name from him in one of the first missions. Without him 621 would've never been successful in his quest on Rubicon. In the posters he's the stand-in for the player. Easily one of the most influential pilots in the story. Great video
It only sucks in retrospect, and only because you want more. When you first play these momentary run ins with the OG raven feel awesome. The mystery adds too it. It's only when you finish the third playthrough and realize there are no answers that it becomes a bit disappointing. DLC maybe.
Lack of content its my main complain with the game, it takes a while for you to get absorbed in the narrative(for me it was act 3-4 first playthrou) but once I clicked and finished everything I felt like Freud. Locksmith not now, I want more.
Just realised that, the design of Nightfall is very similar to that of Linda from Halo 5. Same light brown/tan colour, and a very similarly looking helmet.
I don't think the raven story is over. My theory is that in game 2 of this series(or the dlc) we will be working as raven with the handler that spoke in those fights. Also my silly little theory is that V.IV Rusty was actually 617. But that's just a theory.
Great video and excellent research. The way Walter remarks about the call sign upon discovery makes me think he knew more about Raven than he let's on. Maybe not 617 being alive per se but perhaps something about branch and the title Raven. Plot holes are fun 😅 I know there's no plans for DLC right now but this would be a great place to start. Uncovering more about branch and what happened to 617 after the events of the trailer.
Dont forget. Nightfall is the only guy in branch being in close contact with the operator. She probably the person who handled most of raven's new identity. Hence, carla isnt aware. The shade eye's description is that it was respec'd by an anonymous merc group using RaD's finder eye. So technically it is still RaD brand, but not necessarilly provided by RaD I feel branch is more of a group of individuals who were left for dead during the coral war, and had a new purpose after surviving it. Chartruese sounded like she's a former vesper though. And king sounded like someone from rlf. The most mysterious one is the operator, she is the one who knows most of the raven lore. A concept neither overseer nor anyone in rubicon is familiar with, but is a concept that's supposed to be prevalent from past series
One thing i have to say, Carla sells her parts on the black market. Thus most likely there is a “no-name” policy or something to keep identities secret as that would be dangerous for everyone. Thus its very possible Carla did not know about 617.
Fromsoft has done this with almost every game as far as I remember. their trailers and posterboys are intended to be the one who walked the path before you: Elden ring had Vyke, who almost achieved what you are sent out to do. Darksouls 1 had oscar, Darksouls 2 had faraam armor guy (who doesnt show up in the game at all), Darksouls 3 features the soul of cinder (who we only see make our bonfires) Sekiro doesnt do this, even though they have a shinobi with a legacy to pass down to you in the game, same goes for bloodborne! this is likely because sony and activision do not like that kind of advertising, and instead want to feature the protagonist in these trailers. If anyone else has more examples or ideas, I would gladly hear it
To be frank, I really love this video that you made. This is one few videos I sat and watch the entire thing. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if we get a DLC revolving around the night fall raven
Nightfall is the Vargram of Armored Core. The Raging Wolf was used in all the trailers for Elden Ring, but all you do is invade him at the midway point and kill him and a friend. His armor has very interesting lore implications, but that's it. I feel like you can squeeze more from Nightfall, but ultimately the same fate. Freaking awesome posterboys who have some very neat (if cryptic) lore, but that come to a screeching dead end by our own hands.
Props for playing the game with a mouse and keyboard. Having to follow some bosses in this game the mouse instead of a cozy hard lock was an experience.
I mean, I think it would be a good DLC to join Branch. It is very much implied that Sulla is a member of Branch alongside Raven, Chartreuse and King. So, Killing Sulla gives an opening in the rotational 4 members of Branch. Kicking off the usual alternate routes that, with a few exceptions, really start to kick off in chapter 2. And from what I'm thinking, it could be a vs. all scenario. I also think Raven's Operator is a title similar to Handler Walter, but that's another theory.
I'm kind of thinking the opposite. Sulla works for allmind. I don't think branch I connected to overseer, I think branch is connected to allmind. Or atleast allmind is manipulating branch into doing things in order to get the master plan started. I am also tempted to believe that Nightfall's handler is actually allmind. In the same way Allmind controls Kate and acts like it is a real AC, Allmind can easily have a voice to get raven to fulfil certain tasks. It would also make sense why the operator says "we will see how far this one can go" but then we never see or hear anything about them ever again.
Makes me think whether Nightfall Raven was supposed to be a more prominent character like Rusty at some point in development. Still, I think it's story is tied up pretty neatly considering that he is in fact 617 and appeared in cinematics
I get the sentiment of how poster AC's never have a real presence, but damn did they drop the ball with Nightfall. They play such a key role in the story, and considering all the build up they had throughout the story, for them to be killed in just one fight was really disappointing. I was hoping that we would at least see more of them in action to some extent. One of the oddest thing with 617 that stuck out to me was the change in dialogue with the story trailer. When it first released the dialogue said "617: Down" but in the Bandai showcase they played the trailer but instead it says "617: Lost" What also doesnt make sense is if 617 IS Nightfall, then why is it never discussed? Raven's operator appears to know who we are, plus Nightfall is the only AC that uses the Orbiter parts besides us...I'm surprised that didnt at least raise any eyebrows
How did nightfall sell AC6? That is just an absurd statement and is wrong. Y'all just wanna complain to hear yourself whine about something. The game was a blast regardless of a mech not being a main focal point.

They were truly war heroes now they are dead names forgotten on the battlefield and all that remains is one raven
i think the shade eye head piece translation just fucked up entirely. because the german version states: "vom späher AC der RaD abgeleitetes sonderteil, das von einer anonymen Söldnergrupierung für den Kampfeinsatz völlig umgebaut wurde und moderner aber komplexer ist als sein vorgänger"
translated it means: "from the Rad recon AC derivated special piece that an anonymous mercenary group rebuilt completely, wich made it more modern but also far more complex then its predecessor."
basically the anonymous mercenary group took the RaD headpiece and heavily modified it. it wasnt RaD that built it.
Who's Karl Urban?

I really wish there was an alternate route where 621 and nightfall end up working together
Spreading the wings of Raven to include multiple pilots and establish a larger collective of independence would have been cool.

White glint is the player character from AC 4
They did the same thing in elden ring aswell, where the most prominent character on the posters and cover of the game was Vyke, who only gets a few appearances in the actual game itself
@@MonoFlaxVyke gets his own ending bruh. Raven makes their own.

I can't believe 617,619 and 620 didn't show up in game after we watched them die in a trailer and be replaced by us :O
This a weird take. Nightfall Raven is the whole reason the Corps are on Rubicon. Very important to the story if you read into it.
Can you elaborate on that? I must have missed something
@@bluehex13x oh yeh, totally forgot about him. it fit way better.
I think the DLC could be about Raven’s former handler contacting us, she did say she would look after us
I also think that a dlc would be about Branch. Maybe like a prequel to the main story.
Regarding Nightfall getting RAD parts, doesn't Carla mention that RAD tech gets sold in the black market? That could explain how Nightfall got his parts.
Branch could’ve also stolen the parts or specs they wanted. They stole specs for Chartreuse’s boat legs from Arquebus, for example.
Also she wasn't allways part of rad
Think of it like a checklist of things you need to do to that ties all the games together.
btw
the way Nightfall turns in the field of MT wrecks and stands on the downed ship
is exactly how we turned to Rusty when he catches up to us in unknown underground mission
before finding the institute city
i think they did a fantastic job, having you get to be the ac joining in midway in HIS mission, and having to fight him in the graveyard he just finished making

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn’t the description for the Shade Eye helmet imply that it's a Finder Eye that was heavily modified by Branch, rather then being outright made by RaD?
Good catch! I missed that.
I think its more likely coral extends a person’s lifespan and she is either a doser, like many of the factions in that area, or is augmented in some way herself
This doesnt rule out cryosleep though, as im not 100% sure about my theory
Night fall just to cold. One of best good looking ac in game . And also a silent type like 621
It's implied there's far more than one Raven at a time by them if you attack both Chartreuse and King simultaneously, meaning Nightfall possibly isn't the only Raven we have to worry about, that there's a Raven's Nest somewhere, and with the finish of the mission, now you can go find them, meaning the next AC game if it continues off of AC6 may be harder than AC6 already is, though I don't think it'll be Last Raven levels of harsh.
That sounds horrible
Gotta master the art of reverse jumping to beat that then now lol

People are crazy. MUCH harder? He already took multiple tries. He's fine.
@@FSVR54 It's nerding time. I'd say he's freaking weak if you look closely into his build. Bruh, White Glint was a big part of the AC4A trailer and intro, but it only appeared in one (two) missions. Such is the way of Armored Core.
Nightfall: "Nooo I'm the poster child, I'm supposed to have a main role in this game!"
For Answer's White Glint: "First time?"

Would really love that DLC about NIGHTFALL lore, i just hope it wouldn't cost too much...
I mean, there are so many good characters on AC6, the antagonists quota is filled to the brim, the grey characters as well, and the truly good side characters has Rusty, who is so overwhelmingly awesome that no one else can possible share his side without getting instantly suffocated/overshadowed
Dont get all the Rusty knob slobbering. He has zero charisma. Bunch of friendless people who go crazy when 0s and 1s call them "buddy"
how about flatwell who works together with rusty and pobably is the one who got him into his undercover spot in the first place through his connections at snider from his own under cover time. He even tries to convince rusty to not attack you in the tunnel cause he sees you as someone who could help their common goal at that time.
Meh. Everyone sinping for rusty and I simply dont care about him. Mommy carla on the other hand? She can call me tourist all day.
I think its funny how raven can keep cheating death
Unless its a new one each time, as its an inherited callsign, that pilot always manages to eject based on the dialogue
The branch has 4 personnel, 3 pilots; nightfall, king, the tank girl, and 1 operator; the girl. And at the end of defend the dam mission, we kill them all except the operator (if you defeated the first 2 acs and lost to nightfall, the operator confirmed that both of them died)
Raven Nightfall: You stole everything from me
Gun 13 Raven, Climber of Wall, Kicker of Ass and Basher of Balteus: I don't even know who you are.
What we ended up with here is a teaser of what is outside of Rubicon-3.
This isn't Nightfall's story. It's ours, and we were passed a torch with a legacy nobody but a select few could comprehend.
This is perfect for newcomers and vets alike, the possibilities are wide open.
I really do think they are saving nightfall story for dlc
I hope so 🙏
I think one of AC6's larger flaws overall is how easy the fights against other ACs are.
617 lost both arms
NIGHTFALL: "Man fuck dis shit!! *I'm having the best time of mah fuggin' life!!!* 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓"
I’ve been avoiding vids like this until I finished the 3 endings, and now that I have, I have a theory:
I think Nightfall was a red herring so they could hide the fact Iguazu was the true final final boss.
PREQUEL GAME ON THIS
I'd love that!
Imagine if we found 617 alive! That would have been so cool!
That cinematic trailer should have been played before the first mission when you start the game, it's important context to the player, also i'm sure they will explore Nightfall in the inevitable expansion sequel of AC6, like 4 answer and verdict day.
Why it must be Iguazu instead of Raven that keep coming back at me???
It should have been NIGHTFALL
Quite apt.
kind of par for the course at this point though. White Glint was the poster boy for AC For Answer but was also mostly irrelevant in the story.
I find it interesting how this most mysterious AC is Walters own hound.
Branch is a hacktivist/mercenary group with Raven(s). In other words, a Raven's Nest?
Ravens roost among the branches
@@absurd.gaming Yup. And I believe Branch also prefer to stay neutral in the corporation wars, just like the Raven’s Nests of the previous games.
Even Ayre notes her skepticism when she hears Carla's nickname "Cinder"
if thats the case. walter would of been an AI too.
@@ZeroCalamityYTlate to the discussion, but Walter was presumed to be a young boy at the time whereas Carla was older
It's just like the cover art of elden ring it shows the character vyke not the player even though vyke isn't even like a main character in the game or the lore
This is how Fromsoft operates.
From Gwyn being a legendary king of fire devolving into a husk and having a nameless Undead come at the 11th Hour to put him out of his misery
The foreign swordsmen on the bridge in Sekiro who journeyed to save his son only to die in mere minutes by a chance encounter
Godfrey being described as the ultimate Elden Lord only for him to fail just before he succeeds a second time...
Don't forget that NIGHTFALL is played by Karl Urban on the ads. Next level badass.
Nightfall the kind of guy to give someone a hug just to pile bunker
I think it's worth mentioning that even though 617 and Raven could have both been involved with Overseer in one way or another, that doesn't mean they are the same person, and there's nothing actually solid connecting the two as the same person.
Walter sent his hounds to fight the Cataphract in a bunch of Loder 4s? No wonder they all died!
Now, they only have to think of a nice word pun involving the Roman numerals and letters "V I"
"lack of care, put into how it en...*cut*" you clever bastard ;)
To break it down I have a list of ac poster child/box art ACs
1. Armored core 1 - angfang
2. Armored core master of arena - annihilator, and nineball seraph
3. Armored core 2 Leos klein
4. Armored core nexus - evangel
5. Armored core last raven - BJ
6. Armored core 4 - Berlioz
7. Armored core for answer white glint/Anatolia’s Mercenary
8. Armored core 5 - vendetta hangman and tank AC
9. Armored core verdict day - the lone Mercenary
10. Armored core 6 fires of rubicon - nightfall
Whoa, this I didn't put together! Wish I saw this earlier! Crazy detail.
typical armored core. in last raven, BJ is in both the cover and the intro, but is just a weak AC in the arena
He very well may show up to a much higher degree in the sequel/expansion. The statement by his handler in the mission where you beat him and the other two independents, leads me to believe they will be watching 621.
BTW, the analysis was good. Keep up the good work with your videos 👍
Nightfall fell so Rusty could fly
There's no cure for piloting a CC-2000 Orbiter.
The idea of 617 being Nightfall is awesome
As for Nightfall's under-utilization, I'm also saddened. His Operator says she'd keep an eye on 621, so I assumed they'd have a more impactful role (perhaps serving to nurture 621 into a proper Raven rather than just a Hound)
Something about your monotone delivery with this sour subject is so funny 😂
To think there are two possibilities for how you even survive entry to rubicon.
Consider the railgun shot that clips your entry pod but fails to hit your AC directly.
Either:
The branch OP damaged LOC STATION 31 in such a manner that delayed its targeting solution.
Ah a true lore rival ha ha.
Just don't call me Iguazu :)
Yeah I agree. Rusty makes the most sense as a triple agent given his hound iconography
The "Hearing Things" track is already nostalgic
So technically it is still RaD brand, but not necessarilly provided by RaD
I feel branch is more of a group of individuals who were left for dead during the coral war, and had a new purpose after surviving it.
Fromsoft has done this with almost every game as far as I remember. their trailers and posterboys are intended to be the one who walked the path before you:
Elden ring had Vyke, who almost achieved what you are sent out to do.
Darksouls 1 had oscar, Darksouls 2 had faraam armor guy (who doesnt show up in the game at all), Darksouls 3 features the soul of cinder (who we only see make our bonfires)
Sekiro doesnt do this, even though they have a shinobi with a legacy to pass down to you in the game, same goes for bloodborne! this is likely because sony and activision do not like that kind of advertising, and instead want to feature the protagonist in these trailers.
If anyone else has more examples or ideas, I would gladly hear it
The previous raven could be the operator we hear, (if we assume 617 is also a 4th type of augmented human, he can't talk)
To be frank, I really love this video that you made. This is one few videos I sat and watch the entire thing. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if we get a DLC revolving around the night fall raven
Can we appreciate how he used 617's ac to play the background gameplay?
Glad someone noticed!
Freaking awesome posterboys who have some very neat (if cryptic) lore, but that come to a screeching dead end by our own hands.
....after I got the Raging Wolf armor I felt like I had completed the game!
When it first released the dialogue said "617: Down" but in the Bandai showcase they played the trailer but instead it says "617: Lost"
What also doesnt make sense is if 617 IS Nightfall, then why is it never discussed? Raven's operator appears to know who we are, plus Nightfall is the only AC that uses the Orbiter parts besides us...I'm surprised that didnt at least raise any eyebrows
I didn't even know that story trailer with 617 existed.
It's a storytelling device probably. Its reflected in Elden Ring as well with Vyke
How did nightfall sell AC6? That is just an absurd statement and is wrong. Y'all just wanna complain to hear yourself whine about something. The game was a blast regardless of a mech not being a main focal point.
it would've been awesome if nightfall had a secret overpowered Gen4 AC that he later pulls out after losing the first time to his call sign userper
I will not be surprised if the DLC for this game will be called "Nightfall"
