Repost of my info from the ACSL Quads video, but it bears repeating Old timer Raven here with some advice. the CGP-ROZ generator is your friend, it recharges the fastest of all generators, though it's a little on the heavy side. I still manage to stuff it on light and featherweight machines though. Try to keep your machine's overall drain in the Garage menu around the 50% mark for better energy recovery. The RIX-CR10 radiator will get you through most missions, heat isn't really an issue in AC2-ACSL except for specific missions and the Arena. I personally prefer the MBT-NI/MARE booster, it's got the best power to weight ratio of any booster other than the MBT-FLEET (I think it's a Mirage part... been a while). The MBT-OX/002 is a fantastic part for putting on lighter machines and quads because it maintains high power while being lower drain. Mastering "bunny hopping" as you called it, officially called "boost hopping" in the fandoom, is the key to getting good at AC2-ACLR's ground game. Pulsing your boosters effectively if you plan to fly a lot is always tricky to get down, but once you do you can be really annoying, many players have trouble with aerial targets in this generation. Chainguns are pretty good in this generation of Armored Core, they absolutely shred AP even on high-shell defense machines and they have a ton of heat input plus they're not terribly heavy all things considered. Sustained fire weapons (MGs, Chainguns, etc) are broken as hell in AC2-ACLR in AC vs AC fights, the massive heat input does the majority of the damage for you. Energy Machine Guns have their place, but they can't outshine the shell-based ones.

The mc for AC6 is called "621 Raven", so it's closer to this gen than 4th gen due to how they called Lynx.
I loved the controls. I think I have ADHD or something cause I love the tactile-ness? of it lol. If you get used to the movement you can dodge missiles. Some of the later arena battles are very hard if you don't get the movement down. There's ways to cheese them but where's the learning experience in that? I practiced dodging missiles in the easier missions to get used to it. My friends couldn't touch me with missiles when we battled 😂 the 1000 round machine gun will carry you through most missions and a good missile launcher with a solid FCS. In the arena you can go all out like a tank AC with heavy shoulder weapons and wait for them to come to you. Or overwhelm them with missiles, vertical missiles are pretty strong. Some maps you can sit a top the highest point and just launch those vertical missiles lmao
Honestly while i am not fully accostumed to them yet, i do enjoy the controls xb makes you feel like your pressing buttons to actually control a robot :D
@@ruikiri ikr?! That's how I felt when I first played this lol I was thinking "kinda makes sense that I would need to use the whole controller to move a HUGE freaking robot" I grew up watching shows like Gundam and Robotech where the pilots needed like their whole bodies to move them
use energy weapons they have no ammo cost , bzt some enemies have high resistences against energy.
i know but they feel so slow compared to the machine gun xb
Definitely a step up from the previous installment. Combat looks solid but defensive options seem a bit limited, needs a force field 'parry' on the rockets or something like that.
There are certain passive items you can buy to help you deal with rockets and messing with the opponents lock on and stuff, but everything costs money and if you arent good you aint gonna be making a lot of that xb but i have continued to play this game and i will one day make a more "end game" video with more parts and more knowledge aswell :D
Flares and ECM exist
missiles try to predict your movement so if you change direction at the last second you can dodge missiles
if you're falling when the enemy shoots them you can also make them fly into the floor
Someone teach this man about bunny hopping please! Lol.
Otherwise it's great to see armored core finally making a comeback.
Ive been practicing but i also just like flying around while shooting because it feels cool xb
@@ruikiri if you ever have, or get into ac4+4A you'll have a ton more options for flight. In 4A there is an optional regulation to disable booster drain entirely to enjoy infinite flight on most any build too.
But I know what ya mean.
@@lumiverinightstar228 cool, ive actually already finished my initial playthrough of 4 answer, i know there are multiple paths and endings but a single campaign is pretty short, ill post some 4A today :D
@@ruikiri that'd be pretty cool. I'd enjoy some content from it. Especially since I like an idiot traded mine for ac5 thinking "it's the next ac game, it will totally make having the prior one pointless" >_> and eventually moved up in consoles so couldn't really get into a good situation to get the game back. So, may as well wait for ac6.
You should make part two for the AC videos
There are so many ac games and im trying to get through em but theres plenty of time till ac6 so i might go back to some games, i am actually going through ac3 and so i might make more videos on it later of more end game stuff
@@ruikiri frick yes dude I love your commentary and editing not many AC creators on TH-cam can make such good content as a whole, keep it up bro. You really gave me a nostalgia trip of me as a 8 year old playing AC2AA for the first time, all so scary, difficult, and confusing. Love the content bro 💪🏼
The resource management is easier to understand when you start with the ps1 games
12:19 lol past fromsoftware already did it
Also nice hud color choice matches the speed of ur AC
This is how nexts move? What am I doing?!
Doing your civic duty and enjoying armored core *salutes*
Yooooo let’s goooo AC3 is fire!
You made a very noob mistake of buying the cheapest machine gun. The only useful machine gun in these older games are the one with highest magazine capacity. Also, do turn on all of the extra options on your HUD. They really help you out in missions and arena.
Edit: Do not worry if you can't buy stuff, you can sell parts and weapons back at full price. Always buy and sell in these older AC games. That how you advance steadily throughout the story.
They should release the old games on steam tbqh
You got a subscribe out of me man please do not forget to play armored core 2 another age armored core silent line Nexus and last Raven
The third-generation the best!
i might "forget" about last raven xb haha but everything else i will eventually cover :)
@@ruikiri LR is the last PS2 title and is the last one in the third generation series I would highly suggest if you are going to take a break from it that you should eventually go back to it and try it it's pretty good it's the culmination of all the third-generation in PS2 games before the game's design switches gears
@@ethanspaziani1070 the thing with last raven is that ive heard that it is some of fromsoftwares hardest pieces of videogame media and that has multiple endings ... and not only the first part sounds like a headache already xb but if there are multiple endings then i will for sure have to try and go for more than one plauthrough because they all shed light in the same scenario... i saw Above average gaming's video on it, and i honestly really like the concept but a series on it would be some work... im not saying it wont happen, it probably will :) but not soon
hey where is the Resident souls 4 Remake videos ?
They are being compiled into one, possibly two large video(s) to finish it off considering they werent getting many views :(
ac3 is sort of a remake of ac1
First.
:D
@@ruikiri >:D
you should have just started with AC4 and then play 4 Answer, it's all high Octane action. the customization is freaking great and Japanese players will shit on you in online multiplayer. Probably the reason why no one liked AC5 becasue it was so slow and didn't really build on what AC4 brought to the francize
Thats actually why i started with ps2 games, because i feel like if i were to start with 4 or 5, then these gems would probably feel like a downgrade and i wasnt sure if i would feel like playing them afterwards
No he shouldn't have, those games spoil you for appreciating the older games. 4th gen is smoother sure but the story and vibe isnt as great as AC2 and 3 in my opinion. Now that he's played these two he should play 4th gen and THEN he'll have a great idea of what AC6 is probably going to feel like gameplay and aesthetic wise.
