I remember being a teenager when this recipe became popular. It was literally on everyone's Christmas cookie table suddenly when no one had heard of it before. An overnight sensation.
This was the first thing my oldest ever made with absolutely zero help from me. I didn't even know they existed until she made them. It made me feel proud. Very proud... and... very very old.

This reminded me of a nighttime treat my mom used to make when I was a kid (a few decades ago). Saltines, smear of peanut butter and 5 mini marshmallows on each one, toasted in the oven for less than a minute (low broil until marshmallows are browned). Makes for an easy, gooey, salty, slightly sweet snack. I made some tonight for the first time in ages. Thanks for the memories! 😊

Trippy, have you tried the Velveta Cheese Fudge recipe? No foolin, it is delicious!!!! Easy, smooth, and chocolaty. Just be certain when you google it that it uses cocoa . Enjoy!

You can also garnish your crackers with the bacon and pecans right after you pour your brown sugar onto the Saltines. It's really a matter of preference. We add ours into the mixture so that it's coated and stays in place better once dried.
In Argentina we have a dessert that is called “Turrón de Quaker” which is made with crackers, oats, chocolate, butter, sugar and dulce de leche. You should try it 😁😁

It's so affordable since baking can be kind of expensive when added to the cost of all the holiday food, and it has every element that baking should have... buttery, chewy, crispy, sweet... it's so good!! I love making a white chocolate version, too!
You can also sprinkle crushed candy canes on top for an especially festive snack. I had a friend who once topped it with bacon... Not that I'm recommending that.one.
I too loved the clean white and black design of the See’s Candy stores where I grew up in Hawaii. I loved their little chocolate or caramel lollipops. We called this recipe Almond Roca, and I haven’t made it since the early 90’s. Thanks for the flashback.

We always went in summer because my family's FAVORITE candy from See's (aside from their California Crunch, which is a close second for us,) is their seasonal "Summertime" chocolates! OMG, they are the BEST! Have you had them?!? If not, you simply MUST try them next time you get a chance! I can eat a whole pound of them to myself, no joke. Haha! Anyway, I love this video, this is a treat that was very popular to make in my old Portland neighborhood as a kid, so it really takes me back. Thank you for sharing your awesome recipes and videos with the world, and thank you so much for always staying so positive! My grandmother made this every Christmas since the 1940s! She certainly didn’t call it “Christmas crack” as the newer Pinteresters do - it was simply saltine brittle! 😉
I make these every Christmas with graham crackers (they performed better for me than saltines) and no chocolate - just a little sea salt sprinkled across the top as soon as they come out of the oven. They’re always the best after sitting for at least 24 hours in a container. 😊 ETA: But I LOVE seeing how Emmy does hers, as I love how she does everything! ❤️
Omg this is amazing! I watched this video a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to make it for Christmas this year. I just finished making it today and just tasted it for the first time. It's soooo good! I couldn't get peacans, so instead I used chopped walnuts and almonds. It's really tasty

I never tried the fudge, but used to make potato candy by mashing a large potato while hot and stirring in 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 C. peanut butter. Let it cool and form into balls that can be rolled in chopped peanuts, cocoa powder, coconut or dipped in melted chocolate.
My mom has always made this around Christmas time and it was a highly coveted snack on our household lol. I have asked her several times for a recipe (bc i am a rule follower who needs recipes) and she says she just wings it. Happy to finally have a recipe from you Emmy!!!

If I were to use crushed peppermint canes/candies, I’d probably use white chocolate with a drop or two of peppermint extract (I’ve never used it, but I’ve heard it’s super potent) to heighten the peppermint flavor.
Peppermint extract if not diluted to a hilarious extent will taste bitter and very, very, *very* minty. Just a little too much will basically taste like toothpaste.

One year I was in the hospital over Christmas and a family member brought me some cracker candy. It was so kind, and really made me feel not so alone!

When you posted this video a few years ago, I decided to try it with graham crackers and I used a heath bar topping. It was a hit so I make it every year at Christmas. I’m making some right now. Thank you for posting this! I’ll have to try your version soon too! Looks delicious!

I live in the Netherland and we definitely have saltines. They're usually called mini-crackers

If I were to use crushed peppermint canes/candies, I’d probably use white chocolate with a drop or two of peppermint extract (I’ve never used it, but I’ve heard it’s super potent) to heighten the peppermint flavor.

Peppermint extract if not diluted to a hilarious extent will taste bitter and very, very, *very* minty. Just a little too much will basically taste like toothpaste.
You can also do crushed M&Ms, especially Christmas green and red ones.
