Who do you want to see make the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves?
Li Xiangfei!
RICK STROWD BAYBEEEEEEE
A Real Bout: Fatal Fury 2 team in KOF, made up of Li Xiangfei, Rick Strowd, and Bob Wilson, should've been a thing decades ago.
Alfred Airhawk
Maybe a weird guest appearance from Gai Tendo, the current Buriki 1 champ who wants to challenge Terry Bogard.
Fatal Fury did all of the following:
First Korean character in a fighting game,
with Kim Kaphwan in Fatal Fury 2
Created “jiggle physics” in videogames,
with Mai Shiranui winning pose in Fatal Fury 2
First crossover in a fighting game,
with Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting being
a playable character in Fatal Fury Special
First Fighting game character with a cool hat
Also the first capoeira fighter with Richard Meyer
First character with counter moves - Geese Howard
First character with a install - Hwa Jai
First boxer with a projectile - Michael Max
It also was the first fighting game that takes care of the lore and the story of their characters, even being the first FG that included cinematics in gameplay. (MOTW)
AoF first fighting game with a super

AOF was the first for many things, running, dynamic camera zoom, battle damage on sprites, supers, taunts, etc.
WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 84 YEARS
You could hear the excitement in the team’s voices, it’s not cookie cutter corporate speak. We’re in for a good game.
Was just about to say the same thing. Seems to be coming from a place of genuine love. Absolutely cannot wait for this.
It's wild to me that they doubted people wanted a follow-up to Mark of the Wolves
Hope Andy is back this time. Fatal Fury should be about sibling rivalry.😊
FATAL FURY ❤ is back
They need to build the relationship between Terry and Andy more!!!
They made my 43 year old ass happy. I'm just so excited about the game. I hope this comes out for the Switch 2 as well. I hope by the end of the game, it becomes just a Fatal Fury Dream Match. That is what I would want. But it probably won't happen but we'll see. They got my $$$ for this.
That is a good idea that I support too. Also it would help SNK a lot to invest in an excellent optimized port for the Switch 2 (unlike the MK1 port) because Nintendo systems are not getting the lastest versions of most veteran fg franchises like SF, KOF, TK, SC, etc. So there's even less competition there.
Secondly, Terry became notable to younger Nintendo fans because of Smash Bros, so clearly there's an opportunity to explore there. The game even has "modern controls" to assist newbies.
WOW! Amazing to see this. I shared the video up for you on, The Official NEO-GEO Thread over on the forums for the members and guests to be amazed on Atariage for you guys. thank you for posting this excellent upload for sure fellas. 8^)
Anthony..
beautiful video, thanks for capturing this EVO
Now you have to put a guest character from street fighter. Perhaps and older Ryu with a beard like his costume from sf5.
Mai Returns
Now all we need is some streetfighter guess characters!
thank you SNK
Great!

Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior
They did do a bunch for the PS2 though.
In Japan they were part of a series called “Neo Geo Online Collection”. Guess what features they had.
@@Wolfedge75 Well maybe they can do a more comprehensive collection and release it on PS5, XSX, PC, and Switch?
They already did it with Samsho with the Neo Geo Collection and for others you can buy Art of Fighting Antologhy, KOF Orochi Saga, Fatal Fury Battle Archíves vol 2 and Super Fun combo (Savage Reign + Kizuna encounter) Playstation, the Two Last Blade games are valuable on Steam
Capcom vs SNK titles are other matters since they would need entre in talks with Capcom
There are collections of all those games, but all of them are old. Recently came out a SS collection and strangely a Savage Reign collection, but nothing else for the ps4-5 gens. There are many classic games with recent releases, even with rollback netcode and all, but single games and not collections... Garou MOTW itself, KOF 97, 98um, 02um, etc.
One piece of criticism, I would like it if you had an english translator verbally saying the text also. I get not wanting anything to be lost in translation, but it’s more convenient than having to read all those small subtitles.
Totally agree
We'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the feedback!
Wow really? I much prefer this way. I personally love that we get to hear the devs voice. Would be great if youtube could just provide a VO to subtitles for many languages and it could be turned on or off!
I like being able to hear the devs talk personally, and the text is very easy to see and read
I much prefer this style, learn to read
3:11 Removed it from my wish list. I'm sick of this "Modern Audience" garbage
Fighting 2d arcade games were never too impossible to play to begin with and this Japanese apeal to casual thing is really silly and stupid. The fun of the game is to learn the basic and earn it 😅
No offense, but I don't exactly see what the problem is. Making the skill floor more accessible is hardly a bad thing, and as far as I can tell, from the reviews I've seen, the game still has some serious complexities that will take time to master. Like, I can understand if it comes at the cost of the depth, but I don't see any problem here.
Fatal Fury is back and hungry for more, and so are we! Can't wait for this title
Fatal Fury gave me the best Christmas a boy could ever ask for. My father bought me Fatal Fury Final Bout for the Neogeo pocket and I just adored it.
Somehow, I want Geese to return.
I bet Nightmare Geese is gonna be DLC.
Nightmare Geese replaced him after he died in all future Fatal Fury games so it’s not impossible
@@MeatOfJusticeAs much as I want Geese to stay dead, Dictator in SF6 makes the nightmare a _very real_ possibility down the line.
@@Wolfedge75
Fatal Fury puts more value on its story/continuity
I'm OK with that meanwhile they límited him like a non canon character
My dude has an MVS patch on his bomber jacket.
So glad to see all of this, SNK delivering us great games
Game looks amazing, can’t wait to play it!
I think the preecha design from the cancelled 90s sequel was better
W
Give me that Eng Dubbed
Rick strowd
Great FGC Content!
I want Rock's Deadly Rave and Jenet's shoe heel super coming back .
Can someone explain 'City of Wolves' in Capcom terms? I'm not that familiar with SNK.
Think of the original game, Mark of the Wolves, as Fatal Fury's Third Strike. This would be a direct sequel to that kind of game.
@@Holdbacktoblock so SF 3 4th Strike?
Sorry, but your comment is too vague. What are you interested to know? Because the way it was worded it seems like asking for a list of similarities and differences between this game and "Capcom fgs". And in that case, it's a lot to talk about.
If you really want to know more about the game then I suggest watching a demo breakdown video explaining the mechanics. That seems much more efficient to get what you are curious about.
And one extra homework, only if you are more interested, is watching a gameplay guide of Garou Mark of the Wolves, the prequel from 1999, to see the common points with this sequel.
Tbh, everything was sounding good and promising...
Then they had so say things like "adapt to a modern audience", "appeal to a new younger audience", and talk about how Garou and other past Fatal Fury games had both strong offensive and defensive mechanics but now they feel they have to focus on flashy offense (which is almost always at the expense of defensive play and the fun of players like me).
A real hype killer, and now I'm hesitant to even buy the game.
Those are the dev trends that have all but pushed me (a big fighting game fan and customer since 2002) away from the genre as a whole, starting with SoulCal 6 and on into Tekken 7 season 3, culminating in the doubling down in Tekken 8. Even SF6 punishes defensive play via the Drive gauge acting as a guard crush meter along with Drive Impact wall stun and Perfect Parry follow-ups having a 50% reduction in damage while DI follow-ups get extra damage.
The only major fighting games of the last decade that don't actively alienate me by dev design are DoA 6 (which has died out and doesn't have great netcode), SamSho 6/2019 (which is dead and got its rollback retrofit far too late), and VF5 Ultimate Showdown (which is locked to PlayStation and I don't pay for PS+ anymore). And I don't have the time to waste playing FGs in which too many seconds per round are spent in combos or trying to find matches for discord fighters, only to *maybe* find some matches during my limited free time. I'm a grown man with a life, a fiancé, and a TH-cam channel. My time is vastly better spent in something where I can sit down and get more gameplay time/usable footage per hour. ACTUAL value.
MultiVersus, battle royales like Naraka Bladepoint or My Hero Ultra Rumble, and MOBAs like Pokémon Unite do immensely better at offering me a rewarding experience for my skillset than most fighting games made after 2012. Other than those, fighting game devs' and the short attention-span masses' seeming disdain for players like me has also pushed me to play more single-player and co-op games, which have all done better for my channel than modern fighting games ever could.
I hope you have a good day today.
Cry harder
I don't know but I get the feel that you are just forcing the negativity and is particularly hurrying to judge this game even in this unfinished form.
Also aren't being particularly understanding (especially for your age) about the companies' priority of growing their public past the borders of the hardcore fanbase (fgc), because that is not close enough to sustain the franchise... The mainstream franchises already struggle, then imagine the smaller ones like SNK games.
big garbage all they talk is about NOSTALGIA and legacy for after saying the game is change for modern audience all nosense
Anyone can compete, either adapt or spectate. Garou was pretty flashy for its time too, why not improve on that today.
@@LocalJanitor6 why you think you have too wait 25 year for garou2 , is because anyone play back them in 2000 , dont get me wrong garou1 is a awesome game for is era , sadly player back them can not connect with this full new roster , the same issue with sf3 , fatal fury 2 special remain the most successful fatal fury game for snk with real bout fatal fury , garou2 not having real bout character is really bad same for ff2 special
@@bloodfurypk666 I think the roster changes are a little weird if they don't include some of the golden favs, but as long as the gameplay is good things should work out
@@LocalJanitor6 the gameplay game mechanics graphics style all perfect for me i give a 10 , the roster 3/10
@@bloodfurypk666 Isnt that being very unreasonable, just because of literally ONE newcomer with a colorful hairstyle? Besides that, so far, the new game is using the same Garou chars who are totally untouched in design.
