I boil potatoes separately and sauté onions, carrots, beads and tomatoes on a pan. Golden colored potatoes are great, but I also add yams. Another difference: I use fresh chopped tomatoes (equivalent of at least one large tomato or canned tomatoes). I have tried Pasta Sauce w Basil or Garlic from 365 brand from the Whole Foods and it was great. I love that the content creator uses good amount of fresh herbs. I use all of them. Vegan version is great but I tried chicken broth and it was great. I add cabbage at the very end. It should not be boiled for more than 5 min. In my experience, Borsch never disappoints :).
I was excited about this recipe until I got to “add seasoning accordingly”… what the heck is that? I mean, why would I follow a recipe where I had to make up my own recipe???? 🤷🏼♂️
Sorry to disappoint! You make a valid point! For my pot size (large) I add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of ground pepper. That's the only seasoning I'm referring to. If your pot is med to small size I would start with half a tablespoon and then adjust to your desired salt level. I hope this helps!
Amazing !!
