i've had the hatch EX for 1.5 yrs now. very precise steering, great fuel economy, smooth transmission, good acceleration. the mitigation braking is a nice feature. it's a very practical machine at a good value

i love my 2017 LX hatch. I was reserved for a hatch because i didnt want it to feel like im driving an SUV. But once i bought it, it felt just as the sedan or coupe.

Nice review dude. I have a 2018 Hatch Sport. I upgraded the 5" radio to a 9" with wireless carplay. I also added intake and exhaust....it was too quiet in stock form. The only maintenance beside oil changes has been the A/C. It started blowing warm air, so I recharged with a bottle of R1234YF (from napa) last spring and it's been cold ever since. Great car! Love it.

Nice review - This is probably best overall in class and pretty much all the car most people could ever need. I don’t see much reason not to get the manual though - get them while you can.

I just traded my 2019 accord for this today. I must say the electronics and safety features are better than my sport accord. Not as fast as the accord but I’m loving it too !
@@v8muzik Congrats! One thing I really love about this car that no other car model has is the camera on the right side! Like Toyota, Lexus, etc doesn't have this feature except for Honda! 😍

I was planning on buying this today, but due to a shortage in Microchips I won’t be able to order a custom built Civic Hatchback Sport until 2022. So I bought a brand new 21 Civic Sedan LX until then. Kinda sucks to settle but a Civic is still a Civic
Still enjoying mine (sport touring) after about a year now. A few aesthetic mods and the interior/exterior really pop too. Only thing I’ll say is the suspension is very stiff and the larger wheels on the sport trims feel a bit harsh during leisurely driving. But for an enthusiast who needs a solid daily driver its lots of fun too.
i have a 2019 sport, and suspension isn't an issue for me. It feels very soft to me

i just got my civic sport today and it's true about the suspension being super stiff, but other than that it's tons of fun :)
I just purchased one and I’m in LOVE! But!!! I purchased this car for my son and we’re waiting for him to get his license lol but in the mean time I love driving this car (it’s going to break my heart to hand it over to him) lol but it’s such a great car, fun to drive! Love it!

Civics are so damn good, just replacing the transmission after 200,000 miles might actually be worth it
My CVT transmission went out At 199,000 miles (2015) civic EX. All freeway commuter miles. Sold. It for 2K.
@@tonyfontana8222 I think Honda's 2016+ CVTs will last longer than that. The 2014-2015 Civic was infamous for weak CVT shafts, which Honda rectified for 2016.

I personally prefer the look of the front end on the Corolla hatchback. I have to admit that the Civic hatchback looks great in all Black.
Tbh I’m not a fan of the auto high beams. Had it on for a little bit after I bought mine, and it would activate when I go on the on-ramp to the freeway and takes a few seconds to detect the other side of traffic and got a couple cars flashing their lights back at me smh
I figured as a car guy the only reason to get the sport model was for manual transmission and said the CVT so I'm surprised you like it
If it was lifted up a little, it would look like a refreshed version of the Crosstour.

Does yours have the 100% flat trunk when seats are folded down? I'm trying to figure out if there is a trim with that flat trunk in older years. So far I'm only sure it comes flat for 2021 because my roommate has a 2021 and this video shows it flat as well. The 2020 video by gold pony shows the trunk has a bump... Please confirm what your trunk is like.
@@kenide55 As far as I know it is not perfectly flat, I only have lowered the backseat once for an IKEA trip. Sorry I have 2 kids carseats in the back... .this is something you should be able to look up?

@@iva4941 WOW , so how come people say it’s having oil dilution problems because of the 1.5 (4 cylinder engine ) ? 🤔🤔 even though most hatchback owners haven’t had any issues with the car .
@@arthurgranados5840 I think.. some cars ended up with oil dilution just wasn't lucky. I had a co-working who owns a 2017 Civic hatchback 1.5T never had any oil dilution problems. When I ask he was like, "What's that?"
Have a 2017 one with no problems 3.5 years coming.. sit drive and tske care of it

I just leased one and I can say that the car makes me want to buy it at the end of the lease term but only time will tell. Overall, it is a slower type R but it is automatic, which makes it great for a daily drive.
the Type R is another level. Its not compareable

@@jgreatness9589 Like the difference between a regular three series and an M3. Theres heavy body modifications, wider fenders, extra chassis welds and reinforcement, plus different front suspension design and different engine. Its pretty thorough

Hi, so im looking to get a honda civic hatchback and dont know much about cars in general but are all the hatchback models automatic?(not including the type r since i know that one is manual) just want to know if going with the regular hatchback or sport touring is worth getting but wondering if they come automatic.
Yes there are two options cvt (automatic) or manual. I have gotten the 2021 civic hatchback sport and it’s a blast. Plus my wife can drive it too since she can’t do manual.

If you wait and like the sport trim level engine with Turbo, the new one, the EX-L and Sport Touring level the only ones that comes equipped with Turbo..
How would push button start work in the manual if you park it in 1st gear?
Doesn't matter what gear you are in, you have to push the clutch to start

What do you consider inexpensive ? I’ve seen these civics priced over 30k which is obscene with a lot of plastic in the interior
@@samanthajames9773 The only Civics priced over 30k MSRP are the Type R's. Sport Touring is like 29,000 MSRP. Keep in mind that you are not only buying the vehicle itself but the name that it proudly carries. Plastic interior keeps the vehicles within reasonabe weight (Civics are pretty lightweigtht! for its functionality) and they aren't all cheap plastic that would break/fade that easily! Inexpensive vs expensive are subjective, but the value the vehicle(s) provide are what makes them reasonably priced.

That’s a bad financial decision as these cars maintenance and parts are a money pit. I was thinking more along the lines of getting the Honda accord 2.0 turbo with the 10 speed automatic that’s priced just under 32k instead of that civic for 29-30k

Not sure about this year model. My daughter is 4'11" and drives a 2014 Civic EX. Even with the seat as high as it will go, she has to use a pillow to sit on. Civics tend to have the seats very low into the body. Hope this helps.

Am I the only person who noticed or cares that apparently the 2021 version of the 10th gen civic hatch and the last installment of this model is the only year with a completely flat back when the seats are folded down!?!? This is kinda a huge deal for me! Took forever to compare my self and figure out the facts on this. If I'm wrong and I can get a older year with a flat trunk somehow please let me know. 🙏 It could just be that the lx and sport models get the flat back but the ex and up have the bump for some reason I'm unsure, just found a 2017 sport for sale wi tnn a flat trunk so now I'm confused again. Lol

I don’t think so - I’ve swapped my Subaru Legacy 2.5 four cylinder for a Civic Sport 1.5 Turbo with only a slight increase in premium :)
I was supposed to get the 2021 civic lx but they were sold out so they gave me the sport for the same price. Got a quote on the insurance for the lx before I knew i was getting the sport. Insurance for the sport is cheaper because it has safety features that the lx does not. It was $40 cheaper to be exact
Looking for a used 2019 - 21 Sport Touring trim used one in in Northern Virginia at current time. I'm 64 and need a decent used car. My 1993 Cadillac FWB is getting to be too much car and unreliable. Fun car but not sensible when it comes to maintenance. I can do it, I don't want to. Don't want payments either.
Don't want no more American cars. This or a comparable Toyota will do. I have an old Chevy truck if I really need to move stuff so the hatchback would be for errands/road trips.
