Man I love how much things you’ve done to your car compared to stock! And Honda’s are so reliable when it comes to all there vehicles including their off-road atvs or 4 wheelers! keep up the good work ryan🔥
vinz Vv I've had it for two years stock. Haven't modded it at all. Love the car it's fun to drive and yeah it's decently fast for a reliable and convenient car
Okay, so the tune is cool. That's the only mod. A CVT will hold against some major mods, and a tune with stock parts will help make it feel fun. BUT... If you're serious about making power, a real cold air intake, the kind that goes under the car, is a better option. It won't add much power, but better air flow is better air flow. And anything in your engine bay that sucks air is only hurting your power. A PRL downpipe will help. A blow off valve adapter paired with a HKS or equivalent BOV is good. A performance intercooler, because the stock one gets super heat soaked. A big turbo kit from PRL will bring it round, and getting a Ktuner (V1 or V2) will be needed. Then get a real tune. Idk, not a fan of exterior stuff. Car looks mostly fine stock. Maybe lowering springs? Coilovers could help but anything you do suspension wise is gonna need extra hardware to eliminate heavy camber and such. Cool video though, glad you're enjoying your cosmetic stuff. Doesn't look insanely flashy!
I’ve have a 2017 Civic Hatchback EX (not sport, like bare bones base model) and I can answer modding questions and how the car acts when modded. I currently have: 3”catless downpipe, 3”front pipe (stock exhaust), afe CAI, Boomba throttle body spacer, Hondata with a Flex Fuel Tune, Siri Moro Front Strut Bar, and a Boomba engine mount!
It’s been tuned for over 35,000 miles and has had Flex Fuel on it for over 5,000 miles. It currently has 71,000 miles on the vehicle. I do find myself having to drive it a particular way when spirited driving is occurring.
@Certified G well Hondata doesn’t have “stages” listed on their basemap tunes. So how would I know what “stage” I’m using? I’ve seen people say “I have a stage 2 KTuner” but to me that’s the dummest way of classifying parts or whatever. And hey just because I don’t know what dumb “stage” I’m using doesn’t mean I can’t offer helpful information about how the CVT drives after thousands of miles and certain jitters and snags it runs into.
We EX CVT folks need to stick together, ha! I got mine new back when it launched in 2017, and love the heck out of it. I actually used a manual when learning to drive, but I’ve always opted for automatics for my daily drivers. MT definitely becomes second nature, but it’s still one more thing your brain has to focus on. Uphill starts also suck. 😆 Anyway, I’m looking to get a KTuner 1.2 for it, holding off until my next paycheck ha. My concern though is the CVT… I’ve heard talk that it’s fragile and custom tunes can easily push it beyond its mechanical limits. 😕
jSyndeo Music Any engine should be able to put a little bit more torque without any issues. Manufacturers will always play it safe and not over torque anything. I’ve had mine tuned for a few months now with no issues and I usually keep it on the highest setting for psi and torque. I’d say if you were responsible enough to not overdo it you should be good!
Its just rumours started by people who have never driven or tried to tune a cvt. The cvts handle the tunes very well and out perform manuals in alot of ways. Infact most of the time you hear about issues with tuning etc its with the SI’s.
@@tylerb4994 Yeah, to update, I did get a KTuner a bit after that comment. I got it from Two Step Performance so that I’d get TSP Stage 1 along with it. I usually leave it in mode 1, but sometimes I bump it up to 2 for some extra power. It’s lots of fun! I’m a bit wary of going into 3 though… now that I think it’ll cause some sudden failure, but because I don’t want to get used to it and want more. I like always knowing that there is a little bit more power available than what I’m using. (As well as not having as much wear!)

and the cvt and stuff
philip ward none at all bro. Thing runs like a beast. I plan on making a vid soon about the tune when i get a few more miles
@@Ryansneaks so i heard phearable now has a non si tune. obviously i’ll get the tsp one but i kinda want the phearable one as well, but i’m scared about reliability. the tsp has been proven but the phearable for the cvt is somewhat new. this is my only car. what should i do?
So where can I get the red lip and sides??
Where did you buy the bottom lips I’ve been looking everywhere and I can’t seem to find the name. I like how on your car is wraps all around the bottom.
I got mine from the dealer but college hills Honda has them as well online
i love your gear shift cover, where did you get it from?
It’s from amazon but sold out a while back
Do you have the link for the gear shift cover? It looks so sick!
I don’t sadly. It has been sold out for some time now.
First time here. Is your civic in this video a ex, sport, or a turbo
Ex with turbo
Cool I just got mine and I wanted to add turbo to it. So how much would it cost
Nice I have the same Han Solo dice in my car! Also I have a question, did the tune void your warranty? I want to be able to make my car a little faster but of course I wouldn’t want to mess up my warranty
It will void the engine from my understanding. Anything to happen to the car will have to be proved that the tune did not have a role. I’ve been using it still and no issues. I plan on doing a updated vid at 50k which is coming up
@@Ryansneaks ah I see, well thanks for the fast response! Sounds cool, will be waiting on the new vid
Hello, I also have a cvt but mine doesn't have the "L", what is that? Also, do you have the paddle shifters?
hey from where did you got the red strip for the exterior border line
I believe that comes as an upgrade from dealer
Hey man great video! Have you had any issues from the dealership in regards to warranty
I haven’t been back to the dealer since purchase so i really can’t answer that question
I have taken my 2017 to the dealer 14 times in 3 years for warranty. I actually drove rentals most of the first year. Corporate refused to stand by the satisfaction garrentee and told me to get a lawyer. I didn't qualify for the lemon law in my state because they have to have 3 failed repairs on the same part and they never could duplicate when testing. There now multiple class action lawsuits on hondas made 2016 to 2018 for knowing their was a problem and told dealers to return cars back to owners and say there was nothing wrong without investing
