Do WE Deserve HEALTH?! Some Say No (And You Shouldn’t Listen)!

  • The idea that someone SHOULDN’T pursue better health because their way of doing it isn’t the same as someone else’s blows my mind to hear. Like, subscribe, and share so we can get the message out to as many people as possible that they DO deserve good health! Even if the journey of keto or carnivore isn’t perfect or measuring up to someone else’s dogmatic views, that doesn’t mean any of us are less deserving of the health benefits we can achieve through the proper human diet and a low carb lifestyle. Let’s talk about it!

I'll be frank: whether I "deserve" better health is irrelevent--I want better health, so I'm gonna pursue it. I couldn't care less what other people think about it.

Agreed! Unless you are not achieving goals you have and you believe it’s an ingredient in the recipe there’s no need to focus on this as some hindrance or failure. And in time you’ll likely get cleaner and stronger and feel less desire for this. In the meantime you’re not failing at all. 😊❤️

This is something that I came across during the years of my business!
A positive difference by Ralph Marston.
To make a positive difference you must act with a difference. When others are concerned with what they can get, concern yourself with what you can create. When others are looking for someone to blame, put your focus on what can be done. If the rest of the world sees a problem, make it your job to uncover the accompanying opportunity. When all others have have given up, find a way to keep going. In the midst of bickering and disorder, speak with a strong but calm voice of reason.
To make a positive difference requires that you go against the negative grain. It takes courage to be positively different. The easier course is to just go along with the crowd yet darkness is abated only by a shining light - not by more darkness. Stand up - stand out - have the courage to leave the well worn path of mediocrity.
Do it differently and truly make a difference!
    Xx

Your recipes and channel have encouraged me to stay on Ketovore. I have a long way to go but I'm losing weight and feeling pretty good. I do Carnivore some days. and others I do add some veggies. I think your channel has made this way of eating so awesome for us average folks. The idea that I can have a sandwich with little to no carbs is life changing, because sometimes you just want a good old fashioned sandwich. I'm so excited that you are going to do this full time, its a win, win for all of us. Love you guys to the moon and back. Thank you for everything you do.

I believe everyone should be able to live in their own healthiest way. Some people are sensitive or allergic to items, some people are athletic, some people don’t exercise at all. Those 2 things alone mean the perfect way of eating is different for different people. Let alone hormones and health and mental conditions.

Fortunately, I was stubborn enough to stick with it, slowly evolving to ketovore and now almost entirely carnivore. 90 pounds gone! Not a single negative from this lifestyle! Now, my sister and brother-in-law have joined me and are doing great. We love your recipes and cooking shows! Still a lot of scoffing from others - our comments are - well, look at us! This was a fantastic discussion 👏 Full disclosure, I'm almost 6 months into carnivore. I have a long-time eating disorder that I am healing. At this point in my life, I cannot eat the foods that look like former foods. Yet! I hope to get there someday.
I still love watching your recipes because I love to cook, and some of the techniques have inspired me to create meals for myself that are a little bit different than just throwing a steak on the grill. Although I do that a lot, too. I'm bbbe this month, but your recent video on the popcorn chicken bowls has inspired me for next month to make a version where I just do airfried chicken pieces and make that gravy to go on top! Or maybe make it into a cheese sauce to drizzle over the chicken. Yummy!
Previously, in the last 8 years, I was low carb, whole food, so meat, veggies, and fruit. During this long journey, I've learned that we are all different and my journey is not someone else's journey. I am happy when people work toward any goal to improve their health. Whether that is eating healthier, giving up alcohol, or quitting smoking. I support all efforts at improving your life. Congrats to everyone making those changes!🎉❤

Glad you addressed this comment. One needs to remember when you point a finger at someone, there are three pointing back at yourself. We are all on this journey for better health. Not one of us became unhealthy overnight, and it takes sooo much time for each person to figure out what works best for themselves. It is truly a journey in changed eating habits as well as a change in thinking…addressing any food addiction issues etc along the way. No one is perfect and you’re right to bring this to the attention of others. No one should feel badly about trying to improve, or having a few setbacks…it’s all part of learning and the journey. Thank you both for your positive attitudes and giving Jesus some praise and credit, too! Keep up the great work!!

Well put by both of you. When I slipped and went on the SAD for a couple weeks, my pain was so bad I went to the emergency department. I had to work from my bed for 2 weeks! Now I allow myself Greek yogurt and sometimes I add homemade whipped cream with some Monk fruit sweetener. Much better than the SAD diet that causes me bad inflammation. When I no longer feel the desire for the SAD trigger foods, I will lessen the dairy, but until then, I will consume animal products and occasionally make your amazing carnivore recipes. Except your butter mayo. I make that all the time. My mother uses it a lot.

That was a powerful analogy about the rock climber... And absolutely spot on. To me, the person that made that comment is someone who's absolutely miserable because ALL they eat is meat, salt, and water. And I'm by no means judging, but I'm just saying there's a very tiny percentage of the population that can actually pull that off for any period of time. Look at the study about vegans that recently came out that shows that 85% of them eat meat on the down low... Do what is sustainable and do the best you can do. I'm a pretty disciplined dude, but I couldn't eat only meat salt and water . 🤷‍♂️ And why would you, when you can eat carnivore and enjoy the stuff that you make? There's absolutely nothing wrong with being able to still eat your favorite foods, just healthier versions of them. There's been billions of dollars spent to create foods that people love but are terrible for them. If you can recreate those things in a healthy way, that people can enjoy and get the health benefits at the same time, only a fool would say that is a bad idea. Sorry, rant over. Damn, I thought the Keto police were bad. The carnivore police is like the Gestapo 😂. 😳

Everyone is different and what works for one may not work for someone else. People need to take the stick out of their a$$ and realize that carnivore, keto, ketovore, whatever you choose is better than eating the SAD diet! When I first started eating this way that stick was up my a$$. I very quickly realized that's not how I should be. Haha I think we all have a tendency to be very evangelistic about it when we discover the information and that can sometimes become aggressive because we’re all human. I started that way too. I think it’s whether or not you let that become your conviction to a point of being willing to watch others “burn” in your view if they disagree or if you learn to kindly offer them assistance and understanding to try to help them find what you believe to be the best way. Glad you’re here sharing the journey with us and being open about being imperfect. We’re all in the same boat, and if we say we aren’t we’re just fibbing about it. lol 😊

Social occasions can be difficult. My friends do accept my choices and see that I'm healthy
BUT we were out for a birthday meal at a tapas restaurant. We always share the dishes between us, knowing ill eat only the low carb dishes. Others wanted the meatballs and the sausage, so i saud order at least 2 of each so I can have a full meal. The waiter interfered and said you wont need so many dishes between the number of people here. I pointed out i only eat meat and fish. He brought one of each dish to the table. So either i had a tiny meal, ir my friends didn't have their share of the meatballs. We ordered the extra and insisted we wanted that many dishes. When the waiter cleared the empty dishes before my friends ordered their desserts he looked surprised. We will tell the management about those problems.

Hey as Chrs would say " The Beautiful Ash lol and Chris!!! I love you both. Wow some people it amazes me those who choose to be unhappy. Anyhoo one thing I love about our diverse community of carnivores are the doctors that are part of this groups that we joined. Dr. Ken Berry is a carnivore and his spouse is keto and he never demeans her as a matter of fact he says she eats what "she" can. Dr. Baker has a slice of cake every year and he shared that. Them being so brutally honest showed me this is a diet I can manipulate to what works best for my body and it kept me out of the stress of overthinking it. Many carnivores are thriving on creating there very own carnivore diet! Finally, I am so appreciative of you both and ALL carnivores, DAVE, ANNITA, Ferrigno , Kerry Lillie Kane Maria E! gosh so many! lol for the many recipes and help everyone gives me daily with their uploads. I think a lot of people get too rigid and have some form of an eating disorder. I don't feel I'm addicted. Food is supposed to be yummy. Food is a way to show love and connect. Thank you for this video. Sending love your way. ❤💕💗

It's not that I don't want to eat ribeye 7 nights a week. It's that I just love to cook, and tossing a ribeye on the fire doesn't scratch that itch! I can't do a mono-diet. Beef gets boring. I don't have the personality for mono-meals. I couldn't do it for the 5 minutes I tried raw vegan, and I can't do it with meat. I neeeeed to flex my creativity!

I view people making comments criticizing diets as elitist and/or gatekeeping. If you're not doing the diet they are, you are a horrible person. If you're not doing the diet the WAY they are, you are a horrible person. Either way, it does nothing to convince people to agree with you. The world is far too big to try to peer pressure shame others into yielding to your beliefs. People need to reflect on why they're so hateful and get help. I feel sorry that their lives are so empty of joy.

About the person you deleted the comment from "pride comes before the fall" that is what came to my mind. Thats about all I have to say about that. I love you two so much you are able to put into words what a lot of us think. Love the Lord God above all and your neighbour as yourself comes to mind too. What a miserable life some people have if they need to say these things in here probably to feel a little better themselves. Like Ash said they need a hug or at least I thought she said that in the beginning. Be blessed, Lilian

This thought is not meant to trigger anyone. I just wonder if those kind of people just have such strict guidelines that they follow that it's hard for them to fathom anything but that way is what really works. I wonder this because I've been on that side of the conversation when I was on keto. Now in carnivore, I feel more chill. Furthermore, with watching so many testimonials, I have seen that the N=1 is truly an individual experience.
I really appreciate how you both approach talking about these comments because it helps us also see that we're all in different places and that sharing different points of view can help others. You never know what you don't know. I hope I made sense. Have a blessed week!

This person's comment on your carnivore bread recipe video reflects more on their own insecurities than you or your video. Carnivore orthodoxy maybe what works for this specific person but it's another thing to project that standard onto others. If a vegan or vegetarian, as an example, were to find better health and happiness with that way of eating, that in no way invalidates or threatens any successes I've made eating carnivore. We're all trying to find a better of eating so we can enjoy living our lives; we should all be mutually supportive: it's cooperative journey, not an Olympic competition. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

I am a pretty strict carnivore and have been for 393 days. I see absolutely nothing wrong with eating a food that resembles something from the past as long as it’s carnivore. That’s one of the great things about about carni is that there is variety and that is only stifled by your imagination.
I haven’t made your bread yet but I will. I use paffles for my bread. (Chaffles but made with pork rind panko instead of cheese) they are easy to make and make a great bun. In fact I had two bacon and egg sandwiches with them today.
I am not the judge of anyone but myself. Those who think speak out against carni foods that imitate the bad foods are probably just jealous because they are too weak to eat something like that because they are afraid it will drive them back to their old ways.
I’m secure in my commitment to this lifestyle. I don’t just eat carnivore, I am carnivore.

Some people have trolling as a hobby. Some think they know it all. In the Netherlands was a doctor Moerman who found out a diet to fight cancer; he was belittled bij the rest of doctors but many years later that diet became standard. I don’t dare yet to do carnivore because of my family had a history of hart and blood conditions an early death but I am very interested. I do keto because it works for me . With fibromyalgia and arthritis I have less pain and better movement . But don’t loose weight anymore, so maybe …. But leave those people talking you could never win them; so I wouldn’t try. 🙏🏼🧸😇 PS one day I realized that Indonesia had so much recipes just with rice maybe just because sometimes there wasn’t much other food ( my parents were born there) and I just think it is just so creative you do; inventing recipes to make your life happy; good for you. 💪🏼👍🧸🍀 psps; my husband has no issues healthwise but is happily eating my diet , sometimes I make his favorites extra for him but he hardly ever asks for regular food

As the popularity of carnivore in of itself grows so does the number of 'factions' within this group. Similar issues have existed in the vegan community etc for awhile now.
Now on the factions themselves, they only become a problem if the individual is militant on it, if you eat beef salt and water it doesn't mean you push it on others. There are people who would posit that the salt is not necessary, some are in the 'unga bunga salt iz rock, me no eat rock' camp and others have genetics to hold onto sodium and get more out of carnivore without added salt... they are not the same despite holding very similar opinions. If you are respectful within the community there shouldn't be a problem. Usually the recent additions act quite aggressive and militant... it is unfortunate that some of them have so aggressively gone into whatever they believe is right that they end up making themselves worse from whatever they were recovering from.

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's frustrating to hear those things. While we may all get to a clean carnivore at some point, your journey isn't someone else's journey. Now, if you have cancer or something like a mitochondrial issue or massive health issues, you may need to go on strict carnivore to save your life. That is still a personal choice and journey. It's like keto desserts. Do we need keto desserts? No. Does having something like that help some people? Yes. You can't be totalitarian about it. Focus that energy on something more helpful to everyone, like how to get regenerative farming subsidized so everyone can have the best ingredients available no matter what.

It's really sad how carnivore or low carb has turned into some type of cult. There's nothing wrong with trying to make the diet more creative and tasty, especially when most of the people on carnivore deal with food addiction to processed foods. Everyone knows that ultra restrictive diets are harder to follow. I personally haven't tried any of your recipes because I'm a bit lazy and don't do very well with a lot of dairy, but I can appreciate how creative you are and how it can work for other people.

4:50 It comes down to pride. We live in a time where the pride cycle of mankind is at a zenith. It will take an act of humility to force people to wake up to their immorality of pride. I suggest ignoring and deleting these trolls. Their egos get off on attention, so make them invisible and irrelevant. Leave them to the echoes of their own voices in their empty heads.

The type of person who makes comments like the carnivore police are manifesting them selves in all other walks of life. They don't have friends. I call it the 'Holier Than Thou' spirit. I am a great grandmother - so, I have see a lot - and I've never seen one who did not finally crash and burn. Getting upset with them does nothing - unless you can get them to see that they are just feeling trapped in their perfectionism and that it is actually a character flaw - well, you cannot help them. They will never respond to just being pointed out - it is a deep seated psycho problem, in my opinion. They cannot give even their own selves a break - it is sad.
