Was an iPhone user for 8yrs, then a galaxy note user for 8yrs. Now i have the 9pro XL. Love it. Its different. Very A.i heavy. But its decent. Still getting used to some things but typing is a huge plus. And cameras were more of a surprise than i eas expecting. Good phone. Just heard heating issues with long time gaming? Havent experienced that myself.

It really bothers me when an AppleFanboy makes a review of an Android phone and everything they say in the video either bashing the phone in a hypocritical "nice" way, or either just praise their iPhone by saying it is better in this or that area. get it, the title is a just click bait to get more views for your video. But as a tech enthusiast, I feel like they don't do justice to the phone and all its features.
Mostly because 95% of the phone's capabilities are equal or better than iPhone.

The most infuriating thing about the iPhone keyboard is how it wont let you just click where you want the cursor. Instead you have to hold down until the context menu opens then slide to the exact spot where you want the cursor. This alone makes the Gboard better. Not to mention better predictive text on Gboard.

    • @ZotmundSzele
      @ZotmundSzele 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Only Gboard supports layouts with special characters. I'm talking about áéöüű placed where they are placed on a Hungarian keyboard. Example: when you type é you can hold e and get é there but it's normally placed next to '(non-capital L' on the right side. Needless to say, when you type you're looking for those letters there. Small things but they matter a lot.

This was refreshing. My personal phone is always android but I have an IPhone 15 Pro for work and own a personal iPad Pro which is the primary reason I watch your videos.
But this was refreshing because too often you see Apple focused TH-camrs make video saying "I'm Switching To Android Phone X. Goodbye iPhone!" only to jump back a week later when the next iPhone comes out.

The Pixel is the only phone that keeps me from going back to an iPhone. Those shortcuts on the iphone are a hit or miss. I usually get error messages like this "There was a problem communicating with the app".

It's great to hear the honest answer of "ecosystem lock-in", rather than trying to point out all the cons of a particular phone. Let's face it, we're at a stage now where there are a bunch of glossy black slabs and they're all much of a muchness. Take your pick, it will have the same OS as your last one.

This is the exact reason I went to Android years ago, I had the first 7 iPhones, but didnt like the ecosystem lock in. I agree on the apps, there are more quality apps on Apple. Okay, here's all the things that you didn't mention that are pixel exclusive and some of these have their own rabbit holes that you can go into, but here's the list
Android does have universal clipboard. When you copy something you have the option to share it to your other devices. Just like apple does. Also, how did you not mention any of the call screen features at all from it taking the call for you to screening a call placing it on hold. How did you not mention none of that. Also, how did you not mention any of the pixel safety features that it is stacked up with?

    1. Can't move Chrome address bar to the bottom, it is so out of reach at the top.

Nice to hear one of these ‘I changed.....’ videos actually mention the difficulty of finding good replacements for apps that are available on Apple. I have tried Android many times, but it’s always the software (specifically apps), that send me back to Apple. When using Android I always felt I was compromising in the apps I used and having to find work arounds. The hardware and wider OS just didn’t offer the upside to justify Android for me.

Other things: Shortcuts in general for example, building a shortcut or automatization system always felt more time to me than just actually doing those things manually.
Typing is key for me, especially having special characters like áéöü at the right place, so I cannot write without Gboard. And I mean Gboard on Android, not on iOS.

It’s quite simple. If you like being locked into the Apple ecosystem then stick with iPhone. Otherwise, there are few good reasons to have one over a Pixel. I used an iPhone for nearly a decade and didn’t like other Apple products. Recently changed to Pixel Pro 9 and very happy with it. Apple products don’t play nice with others. I should’ve been smarter and switched sooner.

Also, the "always local" nature of HomePod/HomeKit along with what Apple's doing with Apple Intelligence makes my privacy-mindedness self way more comfortable with Apple. For those reasons (and others), we've decided to standardize on Apple in our household. One of Android's biggest advantages, especially on a Pixel, is Google Assistant/Gemini. It’s the only thing keeping me from switching my wife to iOS. She relies on voice commands and constantly asks Google things Siri can’t-or won’t!-answer ("here’s what I found on the web"🤦). I find this very interesting. I consider myself platform agnostic. I have a 15pm and a pixel 9 pro xl. I too suffer from platform lock-in in that i need to use bluebubbles to have i message on my android. All that being said, I've not turned on my iphone but for a few minutes here and there for a week. This pixel takes better pictures, had a better battery and overall feels more responsive than my apple device. Overall they are comparable devices in almost all ways, but this pixel and my s24 U are pretty darn great. I switched because the s24u photos were worse than the 15pm. But the pixels are betterthan the 15pm , but slightly. I am running grapheneos on my pixel.
HOWEVER, Android is the better platform. I tend only to use apps that work xplatform so I guess I might have suffer from less lock in than most? Standard notes plus Google keep is on all of my phones. Google photos to back up, the list goes on. One example, based on the video above: A lot of mention is made about the keyboard. And I agree cursor mode IS better on iphone. But typing accuracy? Worse! No top number row! No long press for symbols! The are things I use all day long. So yes, he selected a small benefit to ios keyboard, but yet, overall, the gboad keyboard (only on Android, not iOS!) is SIGNIFICANTLY better. Apple JUST added T9 dialing. iOS folks will say they never missed it, but once you learn to use it it is just BETTER. There are countless examples. Last I'll mention the ability to download, to cast content, block ads (easier on Android, possible on both platforms), bypassing firewalls, youtube revanced... You can do what you want on Android. You have to find work around after work around on ios.
I don't miss shortcuts on my android because I just don't need them. I'm not a shortcuts power user, but all the ios shortcuts I have exist only to replace native android functionality. Finally, just looking at the screens on both the pixel and the s24u is just more pleasant.
That's a long way to say you apple diehards are missing out. I'm lucky I can afford to run multiple devices. I do love my iphone 100%. I carry it with me every day. But really the main reason I keep it is bluebubles, because the rest of the world that I'm in is still mostly ios.

I'm a long time Android user (from Galaxy Nexus to Pixel 9 Pro). It's been a long time coming for Google to release a flagship phone that is deserving of praise from the tech media; designing and building hardware really is hard. I use some Apple services like Apple TV+ and i prefer Apple Podcasts on the web for the Apple News Daily Briefing.
I think Google sill have to go all in on Gemini, make it a central nerve to all of their services in a natural way for it to really become successful, especially here in the West where Apple and Siri seem to dominate the zeitgeist

Most (not all!) Apple products are toward the top of their category and with Android you need to try a bunch of different brands to find the best product. The Apple ecosystem works so well together with other Apple devices and that is hard to explain to those outside of the ecosystem.

    • @BasMeijer
      @BasMeijer 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

It is easier to only have to integrate with hardware that you control yourself. IMO the way Apple does this is evil. There are better options for pretty much anything that Apple produces but because Apple makes sure it doesn't work well with their stuff you are stuck to buying overpriced products, sometimes overpowered for what you need, often restricted in what you can do with them because Apple wants you to buy more of their other stuff. Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds, Nest Audio, Google TV Streamer, Chromebooks are just some of Google products that most people can replace their Apple stuff with. Some things will be better, some things not. With Google I can easily replace the items I don't like with a product by another manufacturer. It will be way cheaper and mostly better.

It's been a while. iOS 18 also addressing many android user experience gaps too.

It's pointless an iPhone user locked into the apple eco system doing a review on a Android phone, they will be so biassed towards the iPhone over the Android phone, wether it's deliberately or subconsciously, the facts are android phones are way ahead in technology compared to iPhones, AI for one, fingerprint scanner, split screen which android have had on there phones for years now, iPhones still don't have it, much more customisation on a android, you can make it unique to you as an individual, the iPhone is, this is what your getting so deal with it!
I started of with android, then went to the iPhone for just over a year, then went back to Android 4 years ago and I haven't looked back.
For me android phones are far superior to iPhones in so many ways.

lmfao cursor movement??? wtf are you talking about just touch the screen its that simple. its a phone u dont need cursor movement. your just trying to find problems at this point. because in apple u cant touch a word in the middle of it and the cursor just pops in, but in pixel and other androids we dont need the movement we just tap that simple

I understand you are speaking mostly to the apple users, but concentrating so much on the apps is just wierd.
Also, you are used to some of the feeling of the iphone, it is not objectively better as you assert in your video.

If you're on that specific accounts inbox, it's only going to show you that unless you are in the all inbox and you see those tags such as the VIP. If you have the special promotions and what not tagged on well, that goes for any device that you use for Gmail. That's not a pixel exclusive thing

Lock in is a bad thing for consumers wanting choice. I think scrolling seems slower on iPhone tbh. 50 50 for iOS v android stuff. Good and bad for both. E.g. iOS keyboard is awful v gboard, Android clipboard works really well, no pro camera settings on iOS 'pro' phones.. wtf.
Yet Apple focus modes ... I use daily. Scheduled notifications useful.

It has tensor which is built on abomination called exynos
Second, the pixel has battery drain like no other phone on planet. Why cant they increase battery size, make that phone a little thicker and hide the camera bump?
Third, there are no proper cases for pixel as literally no one uses them.
Fourth, after sales support for pixel sucks big time. May not be in USA but in my country it’s virtually nonexistent
