I like this guy cuz he gave praise to God for his talent
@soundgrips… I bought a beat of yours before. Just wondering do you mix and master your own beats? If so, how’d you learn to do that shit so fast?
I made beats a few years ago but stopped. Checked my PayPal this morning and saw someone bought one for $50. This got me motivated to want to make more
Man I love to see this. People are wayyy overly pessimistic when it comes to selling beats. In their mind, it's either too saturated / a lie that people are making money, or "you're in it for the wrong reasons." God forbid you actually pay your bills and feed yourself.
Yeah but at least it’s life self-imposed gatekeeping
Matthew 6:33. He applied this and it worked for him, it can/will work for you. God bless.
He mentioned seven hour work sessions as an independent producer.
That tedious work ethic is what sets most people apart.
Anybody can make one or two beats a day but disciplining yourself to put a schools day worth of time in is what most people miss.❤
Forreal people think I’m “boring” or don’t do much but since I produce, mix, master, record, write, sing, rap, & engineer, all my own shit I spend hours on end just sitting in my room making music & perfecting little imperfections & sounds in mixes. The hours of time spent doing that is like therapy to me at this point. Gotta put those 10,000 hours in, then do it again.
Yeah they’re the ones that chase fun not goals
If you're going to quit your job to pursue music you better be ready to put in as many if not more hours for at least the first year. Ppl complain, but try showing up to work half the time n see what your check looks like.
@@emptytombprod 100% I remember I quit my job to pursue music in 2017-18 & it didn’t work out the way I thought. I been working ever since, but back then I didn’t make any money off my music & I just sold weed so I made it work. now I actually make money off my music (only a couple hundred a month, no where near what I was making in the streets) but it’s funny I feel better about the $$ from my music then I have ever felt from a job or the streets. So I gotta figure out how to do it now since I actually have a head start.
@@emptytombprod cause now I have a job & I make $$ off my music. I just gotta 10x my music grind & money then I can even CONSIDER quitting my job 😂🤷♂️ but for now I’m happy grinding on both cuz I genuinely do this music shit like it’s therapy lol

Yes faith, confidence, and grind. I decided to put all my time into making beats/instrumentals in late 2019, and still 4 years later I wake up at 3 am almost every week day to either create or learn. Im starting to see some traction, and know it's possible.
Life is very simple and we keep overcomplicating it. Can't chase money over happines, you might end up miserable with some cash doing something you can't stand. Great video!
Well said!

another thing is this dude has quality beats you can't post trash beats and expect to earn $ you gotta be somewhat good at the craft and then you can grind the way this dude did and then you might make some $ enough to make it your fulltime job.

Dudes killing it with the name Mac11. Thats wild, googling or even looking up on here, I can't find anything by him. There's 4 million "mac11" and "mac11 beats" etc etc, whether it be the producers name or the beat name. Deffo feels like word of mouth is 100% the most important way to make sales.

@DJPain1 The real ones keep coming back, man. TH-cam can get discouraging sometimes, but we appreciate you and everything you share with us. I know you don't "need" to do this stuff, but the fact that you keep doing it and stay educating us says a lot about you.
Very good answer when he says he has to give it up to God and I would also say it has to do with the individual also. This man can only motivate you so much you have to motivate yourself to the point where you rise above everything. Saying the industry is saturated is it easy way to make an excuse why you failed. In certain industries saturation is a true problem. I would say rhyming is more saturated than beat making by far. Marijuana is going to be the most saturated industry in the world in a second so I definitely know what I'm talking about. but even in a saturated industry If You're Something Special you can Rise Above the Rest especially like he said with the grace of God
Like even if there was a billion basketball players Michael Jordan going to make money off of basketball no matter if there was even a trillion basketball players greatness matters on whether you'll make it or not. Only in a non saturated industry will a person who's mediocre thrive
💯
Great conversation. Well done, Pain. #twitterforlife

@@DJPain1 100% true. Great content as always!
Pain, I had that thing happen to me with someone wanting someone else's beat from me. What I ended up doing once he told me the name was I
went to my page and contacted that producer and the dude ended up buying his beat and one from me as well.
New banner ? Looks great…..
Old banner actually 😅
This sounds good an all that I heard most of it before. I just hope he is telling us the truth. Because I got no kids or a wife and I can’t afford to quit my job and I’ve been doing this music shit for about 8 years now.
You don’t have to quit your job the way he did.
So I'm just wondering, since I'm not really big into making beats like trap or drill or things that can be rapped over. Is this only possible for these types of genres or can tracks/beats be sold in different genres like lo-fi, chillstep, or synthwave, etc. and if so how so? Sample packs?
Few months of consistently posting Drill / Trap / Hip hop beats which to be honest is my second love. I ignored my first love which is actually for old school reggae beats as I figured the online market isn't there so much. Just so happened to throw a loose reggae beat out under the name Bob Marley Type Beat and got my highest amount in sales and views within a week (still very moderate). MAKE WHAT YOU LIKE. Point blank. Or am I wrong?
I’ve always said this. Do what you love
If You Can Convince Someone In your Support Group to Do The Administration types of Marketing of Behalf of The Things You Say You Can Improve On... That May Free Up More Time For You To Just Be PRODUCT PRODUCTIVE. Anyone Can Be Taught to use the computer/Navigate to a specific Task, They Just Need The Will And Inspiration.
I disagree. This just makes you lazier and less knowledgeable and if those people don’t do their job well or if they do it well but suddenly quit, you’ve just screwed yourself. Good music business admins are REALLY rare. The good ones often know their value.
at the end of the video... referrals are absolutely crazy... like the beats are the same but because so and so said so... its the same with the rap community. Alot of really well crafted wordsmiths out there don't get recognition until someone with status features them. But that's how it all works. Periodt. lol
There’s the PayPal, I was looking for that, I appreciate your efforts….
Thank you 🙏🏽

Engagement over "numbers" all day!
I need to know about marketing beats for a producer selling for the first time
Two and a half years now and not a single beat sold but will prevail
i wonder what page he's posting to, i dont see any recent post on his ig yt or fb 🤔
Personal page bro not my mack11beats page, and ig I’ll post stories sometimes but mostly reach out to my followers too on there, website has beats added mostly everyday, sometimes not weekends tho
Eh eh God is good!
How did he build his website ?
N1
How?????
i don't know man
Some gold in this video 🙌 I quit my job 2 months ago to start doing this, now releasing 3 beats a day and starting to see some progress but still a long way to go 🙌
Wishing you lots of success
I love making music.
But $65,000.00 in a year is not enough money to quit a job.
I understand most ppl don't make anywhere near that.
I make well over that annually, and it's still a struggle out here
I Rig megastages for major music festivals and live events around the world and would never quit my job unless I made 3 times the income from beat sells.
Without posting to youtube is very impressive
TH-cam isn’t the end all for producers 💎
Pain1 discouraged and killed my fire for selling beats online a long time ago. I avoided his content for years and here we go again. He is making a video about sellings beats online.
😂😂
65k a year. is like $30/hr 40hr work week. but... but.. if you love your craft then i don't see this as a negative at all i would love to do this as well. but i did want to point out that this dude is working doubble time people probubly think this happens overnight.
Sure but there’s growth potential. Theres no salary cap.
He could be making 2-3x as much if you knew what he charges for beats. I had to lower my prices a lil bit just so I could still eat 😂😂 wish I was kidding 🙃 Pain wouldn't of had him on if his beats weren't legit.
As a producer and beat maker, if you got a beat on youtube and its your beat, can you take down a spotify song with your beat if they didn't bought a lease? How can you do that?
Yeah dmca claim, I have videos about this
What does he mean with SoundCloud he had to track it out is he saying the upload is tracked out on the website ahead of time
When I started selling beats on SoundCloud it only lets u upload mp3 or whatever so for each individual beat that I sold I would have to do all the work getting stems ect uploaded to google drive to send to people each time but for my website it lets me upload all that so when someone buys from the website it’s already on there and sends it to them itself instead of me having to do it each time I sell a beat
I use ur beats on rapchat
Soda Soda and Cherry Cream Soulja take over 2024
You don't. Not anymore. Been producing for 10 years, we were a day late and a dollar short man. Theres like 5 producers making money rn. Literally.
Now that my sales are going up and I am promoting and posting more actively, I have noticed that a lot of my instrumentals have been uploaded as is directly to distributors, so my work, without any edits is on Spotify, Apple Music etc. Under someone else’s name, these profiles who are doing this have no online presence, it’s almost like it’s being done by bots… is anyone else having this issue?
Yeah, and I issued take downs. Then the people who uploaded them had the nerve to act hurt 😂
@@DJPain1 Some people....

Don't quit your job people. Not until you have solidified profits and financial security incoming.
That’s one way to do it- it’s about 70% of the way I did it. Others have failed with this method and many have succeeded by jumping in with no security or safety net. Do what makes you happiest but just do sometime.
