Most podcasts I listen to have complained that air conditioning makes too much noise, so they have to turn it off during a recording. :-/

I just recently started flying 3D. for me having a spring-loaded throttle when i do 3D makes a world of difference. also because it reminds me that I'm doing 3D when I touch the throttle. But 3D is sooo awesome!
There is no woman in the hobby that has pushed the envelope as far as Zoe has. She's been innovating and rocking the boat before any of the current RR team were even on the team. Zoe deserves to be on Rotor Riot. (and I believe she expressed this desire on Facebook)
What will it change?
6:15 - 1200 does NOT give you any additional resolution. It's just transfer speed. With DSHOT, resolution is always 48-2047 in value, 2000 steps or 0.05%.
1200, compared to 600 gives you more prunability to noise or bad data frames.

Hi Zoe and Cricket, I can't wait to get my props in for my New 3D Chameleon.
Try line of sight next lol, i love flying 3d brushed silverware but brushless isn't right yet, it need some telemtry between ESC and FC to know when all motors have successfully reversed and only reverse all motors together, reverse should depend entirely on throttle stick and not on any other stick inputs or gyro feed, so reverse motors should be a command sent to ESC rather than relying on each ESC throttle position.
I'm curious, what setup would you recommend I try out for a brushed rig?
And if you crash upside down(without damage) you can just take off while being upside down!!! Great video!

Holy cow. When Zoe went for the firs flight...I was like pull up pull up! And then my heart stopped. I knew that it's possible to fly 3D and I watched Zoe's videos before but for some reason I freaked out. It's so cool and I have great respect for her to start something like 3d freestyle. It takes knowledge, dedication and ton of practice. Well done guys! (And Zoe of course) completely different experience.
Maybe one day... I'll give it a try. 5stars! 👍

Cricket flys with a very low uptilt which seems like it would be ideal for 3d flying, but how much uptilt does Zoey use typically?

amazing video, I have flown 3d acro with small helicopters, Blade 150 and Nano s2. Started FPV flying with the Tinyhawk 1,2. Can these be configured for 3d?!!!
I tried 3D on the sim a couple times. Would like to explore it some more.
Zoe got dat big brain... her spacial thinking and ability to invert controls is mind blindingly cool
I wonder if having bigger motors and really aggressive pitched props would improve the feel so that it adds some braking/drag to to the props to assist the electronic ESC braking...seems like the hardware and software needs optimization, but so many possibilities!

One thing I noticed lately about arming in 3D mode: I am showing the throttle position on the OSD to make arming easier. Once, it didn't arm with the switch, because I was a little off. Then I moved the throttle without disarming it and suddenly, the motors started spinning!
It armed when I was moving the throttle to the center. Didn't know that this is possible.
That sounds like a bug :(
@@DoctorWhom That's actually a feature, and my preference. I like hitting the arm switching and wiggling throttle at center to arm.

One thing, would it help to add spring to the throttle stick and make it self center just like the other stick so that you don't struggle to cut the throttle when necessary?
never flew a real drone in 3D, but I flew 3D a bit on simulators. It's not my cup of tea, but you have to appreciate Zoe's skills with those. It's not easy. I keep doing what Cricket did at 14:30. He wanted to cut the throttle, ended up shooting downwards at nearly light speed, and by the time you realise what is happening, it's too late and you crash. 3D flying is not easy... You get used to it after a while, but when something a bit nerve racking happens like Cricket just before, almost ate shit in a tree, he panicked a bit, and his natural instincts automatically came back, and he started flying it like regular drone.
These things are not easy to master!

the dji fpv controller would be ideal for this with the self centering throttle stick i feel. because it would constantly be cutting throttle unless you tell it otherwise... interesting and actually would be cool to learn!
can i set up the babyhawk freestyle for 3d to get feel for it b4 building a 5inch?

What a nice vid guys i am olso starting out on quad coming from 3d airplanes so my take on it is if you build a 3d rig that you also convert tx. To also centering gymbal on you radio i meand that the throttle sting has to be centering and thats helpt with centering thottle 0 en helps feeling difference between pos and neg trust maybe (cricket and zoe needs to try that too ont not mentioned in de vid about how the radio is set up
Live your channel and videos. I would like to get into drone flying and as such could you recommend a setup that does not involve the goggles as I would prefer to fly line of sight.

i can speak from experience. it's much easier to learn 3D fast with self centering sticks. been flying normal FPV for 4 years. took my quad out to try 3D and crashed over & over cause of the loose throttle stick. i put it back to self centering and the next day i looked like i had been flying 3D for months. 3D is awesome & i will never go back. and props matter but not that much. i run the old racekraft 5046 or 5051 krane props and they seen to do great in any direction.

The reason why if its normal you have to reverse it is. It would be like flipping the quad over. Which makes it change its opposite of how it normally is. Cause the motors are spinning the other way when it is spinning 3d creating reverse thrust. Simple when you think about it.
I have only flown 3d in sim but for real get disoriented but i suppose you need to use a deadband in the trottle like the part in you trottle where it does not go up or down is what i mean because whitout it i feel like it's harder
During 3D mode configuration: I destroyed 3-4 motors and possibly the ESC today after I enabled bidirectional DShot and the drone brought the motors to 100% throttle on its own in a disarmed mode. I explain it in my new video. But i have not flashed my ESCs with BlueJay. Maybe this was my mistake ?

I don't have disable / switch 3d in my mode tab. how do I get it to show up so I can set it to a switch.?
