    Impressive Not a Review; Review of the HJC RPHA 70. I agree with prioritising the silence of a bucket, as it will save your ears in the long run.

    Nice! Exactly the review I was looking for. I too have a very noisy ADV helmet and just came across this one. Thank you! (And in my home town too!)

    Iv always worn HJC no idea why more people dont buy them, they all go for Shoei, Arai. They are underrated

    Great review,these helmets are really good ,i purchased a rpha 70 and a rpha11,to be fair ,brilliant, vents actually work,quieter than my other premium brands shoei and Arai.
    Normally a medium size, with the hjc,go up a size.
    Think when i need another ,will be another hjc.

    Good review. I've had Shoei and AGV helmets that cost cinsiderably more than my RPHA 70 and aren't any better in the wearing experience. In addition to the quiet, I find the '70 vents very well on hot days (equalling the Shoei GT Air 2). Some excellent deals to be had on remaining stock of this helmet, as it has been replaced by the RPHA 71.

      Good post. Glad to hear the comparison between this and a couple other brands. I thought the top vent on the RPHA 70 looked pretty similar to the GT Air 2’s top vent.
      As a current HJC user (see my other comment on this video) I’ve been wondering if the company’s helmets in this price range are worth it.
      Thanks for sharing your experience.

    cool review bro, thanks, I have RPHA 70 helmet of the same colour as yours - really comfy and quiet.
    the only thing i can;t understand about this helmet is a visor clip that has two possitiong and allows to lock the visor when shut . Every time i go on a highway 110-130 kmh, for about an hour -- i have the visor crack near the clip. it has been third month with the helmet and i replaced three visors. yet the helmet is awesome

      Thanks for watching.
      I have used mine almost every day from the time I bought it with not a single issue until recently. When the visor is fully open, every attempt to pull it down is resulting in it (the visor) popping out from one side. Hopefully that'll be an easy fix.
      Shortly after receiving the helmet, I ordered a third party iridium visor from eBay which didn't lock well or perform anywhere near the genuine HJC clear and black tinted visors that I got with the helmet.
      Have all three of the visors you've used been genuine HJC? I only ask coz mine haven't had any cracks in almost a year and a half of use.

  • @gromkour5341
    @gromkour5341 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got one and it’s so comfy but I can agree with you on the one size too small thing. It definitely has a grip on my head but I think that will come in handy should I need to use it for its main purpose.

    • @afrobykr
      @afrobykr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's true. I reckon the "tightness" also comes contributes to the wind noise reduction.
      I also have a Large AGV K5 (and a few others). The RPHA 70 feels like it's a much better finish in so many ways.
      There wouldn't be many helmets at this price point that are this well put together.

    If you're worried about someone hitting you from back or seeing you I'd highly recommend a device called brake free light for helmet.

    Good revue my man. Always like HJC they seem to fit my dome well.
    I was a motorbike courier in a very windy city (Wellington New Zealand) for ten years always used a glorified motox helmet and am now almost deaf because of it.
    Ive lost 90% in my right and 70% in my left with horrible tinnitus on top.
    I recommend a good quiet helmet and ear plugs.
    its not worth it .
    Keep em coming Peace

    However I bought the small, and yes it’s just tooooo small. So last week I bought another in titanium but a size medium.. also bought the I70 in carbon . Another good option

    All helmets suffer wind noise to a greater or lesser degree. Put ear plugs in fitted properly not half hanging out, but down the ear canal. turn up the intercom so that you can hear it, on future rides the intercom will soon let you know if your plugs are not in correctly as it will blow your head off when it says Hello. Wind noise should then not be much of a problem. Not using plugs may well lead to Tinnitus by the time you reach your 60s especially if you like loud pipes and you will regret it as the whistling never stops at that stage.

    Been thinking about getting this one as it’s available for $300 on a few websites right now whereas it retailed for $410 (edit: I previously wrote $450). Just scared that I’m going to regret not getting the Shoei RF-1400 while it’s on sale, but that’d run me about $600 after adding the dark visor… Twice the price of the RPHA 70. I just know that the Shoei would be a great helmet, whereas with the HJC, I’m seeing mixed reviews and hoping for the best. This video nudged me back in its direction, though.
    I’m currently rocking the HJC I70; had it a couple years now and it’s a comfortable, acceptable $200 helmet, however I’d love to have something more stable at highway speeds, and some extra quietness would be nice.
    Anyway, I’m still undecided if I want to get a new helmet yet or just stick it out with the budget brain bucket for another season or two. And you just made it harder for me by making me reconsider the RPHA 70, so thanks a lot 🖕 😂
    Good video.

      😅
      All the best with the search. Shoeis are a popular choice in the motorcycle riding circle for obviously good reasons.
      However, this little RPHA 70 has more than impressed me. For the money, in all honesty, you'll be extremely lucky to find a better helmet.
      I'm 100% not sponsored 😄

    • @PokeyCottons
      @PokeyCottons ปีที่แล้ว

      @@afrobykr I appreciate your response. One thing I’d like to ask is how you feel about the stability of the helmet while riding at higher speeds. I’ve only watched this one video from you, so I don’t really know your riding habits - do you ever/often ride above 75 MPH (120KMH)? That’s probably my biggest complaint with the I70: when traveling at high speeds, especially if it’s windy, my head tends to get knocked around. I don’t expect you to have much comment about that issue unless you’ve paid particular attention to it, as I feel like it’s easy to overlook unless it’s an actual problem you’re experiencing, but figure I’ll ask anyway.

    The new RPHA 71 which replaces the 70 is amazing I have both and a RPHA 11. The 70 and new 71 are sports touring helmets and are brilliant for longer tours where as the 11 is an out and out sports helmet.
