Epic 3 in 1 Remodel | Turning My 2 Bedroom House Into a 3 Bedroom

- In this video, I’m going to show you how I turned my 2 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom. At the same time I remodel the kitchen and hallway which also required work in the attic and basement. And we're gonna do it... Right Now! 👉
Actually, let’s start with wow! What a year for my family and I! For the past year, I'm going to show you what our life has been like; non-stop, calculated remodels to not throw our life into shambles, and well, sometimes exhausting. I must have well over one hundred hours of unedited footage. 😲
Maybe one day I’ll post it all, bloopers, outtakes, you name it, but for today, you’ll get 40 minutes of the epic 3-in-1 remodel. From remodeling the kitchen, the hallway, a 3rd bedroom but also adding in some attic and basement projects to support those remodels, I’ll go over my thought process while completing it all. And don’t you worry, there is a great surprise(s) thrown in there!

As a parent of soon to be 13 yr old twins I want to pass on to you the best advice I have ever gotten in my life. Get them on the same feeding schedule. Doesn’t matter if one is sleeping and the other wants to eat, wake up the sleeper. If not, all ur doing is feeding babies. Not to mention it will get u a little, very little, extra sleep at night. God bless ur twins cause they are a blessing!!!!!
So true, especially when they get a little older. It’s easier to feed, feed, and then chase, chase, then it is to feed and chase, and feed and chase. One spoon and one bowl. I used to carry baby gates in my car because other people’s idea of baby proofing for one doesn’t cut it for two. When they pick their one up to change, etc. they’re not thinking about a second getting into wires, etc. 😂

Growing up, about 50 years ago we lived in an old farmhouse that was, at the time, about the age your house is now. It was a ramshackle place - classic "worst house in the best neighborhood". My dad renovated just about every part of that house down to the studs. Mouse nests, out, insulation in, new wiring in, new plumbing, new major structure in, new concrete in, new heating system in, converted two porches to permanently-indoors, etc. We did bring a contractor in for the kitchen, and honestly they didn't do as good a job as he did on the rest of the house.
It's always great to see a down-to-the-studs complete renovation/rehab of an old house.

As a European, I find this fascinating. Our houses are made of bricks and concrete or whatever it's called in English and there is no way you can just cut a hole in your wall to install a new electricity plug or hide cables. Congrats on that amazing work, the precision always blows me away. If I started anything on an unlevel floor or ceiling it would just end up even less leveled 😂

OMG! First of all, congratulations on the twins! Second, you are a machine, my friend. Watching this video made ME exhausted. Your wife is one lucky, lucky lady. Your carpentry and DIY skills are unbelievable! I wish my husband had those skills. I want to totally replace the plumbing on our 1948 house and remodel the kitchen and dining room. Above the dining room is the upstairs bath so I will remove the dining room ceiling, too. It's going to cost me a small fortune to do this. Anyway, thanks for the video and, again, you are amazing! I'm now 71 and have been doing this type of remodel work on several of my homes. I'm happy to have found you and watched this video with a huge smile remembering my days of designing and remodeling these homes. My first was my childhood home that in 1962 was 125 years and helped my dad take down a wall between two small bedrooms to make a larger one with a walk in closet for mom at age 9.
I loved seeing your little helper hammering something with you for visual effect ❤. Everything you did, I've been there too. Being a female, I was always helping my dad while my brother's had other interests. Last home I designed was for an elderly couple with disabilities. I got a crew to help me and they were happy to have a home that finally complied with disabilities code. I've stopped actually doing the physical work myself but, continue to design as a hobby for friends that want to remodel. Your home turned out truly exceptional.

I love a man that's handy. I come from a family of carpenters by trade, my dad, 2 brothers, an uncle and 2 cousins. My dad built our home and 2 cottages. Nothing is better to me than that ability. Forget flowers, jewelry, candy...build or fix me something, so I married a man like dear old dad! Lol

Congratulations on the mammoth make over and the well timed arrival of the twins - the room is a Godsend for the family. Per usual - awesome video. Found the voiceover addition very helpful as the viewer can follow what was being carried out. Looking forward to future projects. One question - are you allowed to built an extension to your home? Can you build up i.e.: convert the loft or basement?
Hey! I'm glad you liked the video, I appreciate it! It is a possibility to build up and make a second story. We did decide to keep it a one story but might be building something in the basement in the future, not sure yet. 😃
One story is great raising twins. My first house was 3 bedrooms 1100sq . I raised my twins until 5 and my younger one was 2 when we moved out bigger house.

SHEESH! Wifey agreed with the new room with ulterior motives already. I'm gonna wait a few years and come back for the 4th room (maybe someone looking to live in the attic) and, most importantly, the treehouse.
You are very clever to video all of this work and post it on TH-cam. You did a tremendous amount of work to accomplish a quality remodel. Now you have video proof of all of your work when/if it comes time to sell.
Good heavens, you've rebuilt the entire house! Sound barrier insulation-- excellent idea. And fire. It's admirable that you take the extra time to do the job thoroughly, and rewire, replumb, level, etc! Kudos!

Just bought a house built in 1947 definitely needing to add a bathroom and possibly a third bedroom eventually. Also the attic could be turned into a bedroom or office! This is inspirational 😂

At 65 I've seen 100s of remodel videos and completed *many* of my own-not to mention those I've helped with. All that to say, of those few [6-10?] equal or exceed what's mentioned here regarding: 1] your knowledge combined with common sense 2] an economy of words used while narrating/giving instruction or advise-finally 3] the little things e.g., not making us endure repeated "subscribe/thumbs up" requests or cussing, loud background music or rap "almost" music etc. First time here, but [imo] videos like this include everything that people like and need if they're gonna remodel. Btw; congrats to you both re: healthy twins-a blessing from God [Ps 127 v5]
