This genuinely bought tears to my eyes. I live in a very similar house with a lot of original features and all too often these days, people are ripping out period features and replacing them with (imo) something awful. I never understood why people buy period properties and strip them? That was our main focus. Even the kitchen we needed to inject some features that would make it look more in touch with the house and I think it was achieved ❤️
They are on a budget. They didnt even tear wallpapers down. The house is molded. To fix it, u need to tear everything down and replaster....profit wise it was also not worth it, a tiny return for three months of work..

So many renovations done for flipping a home generally tear out all the original features of an older home and tear down walls! Just amazing dedication and hard work you all put into this home! What a beautiful house. I had an Edwardian end terrace only two bedrooms, in North Yorkshire. We were in a tied house, and rented it out for several years. Eventually we moved back to my home area when my husband retired. All your hard work in three months, amazing.

I just happened on your channel and must say...Fantastic! I love the project and love that you show just how capable women can be at home repair and improvement. As a women myself, I do all the remodeling and repairs in our home including electrical and some minor plumbing. My fiancée admitted right off that building, construction, home improvements, etc. were something he was not good at. I told him, "No problem, I've got you covered. It was so nice to watch the progress of the project. Wonderful job!

I agree mostly but I got really frustrated because of the kitchen... the cabinets were gorgeous... they could have altered them or something but decided to completely destroy them.....
I will say a dolly could help you immensely! I have moved pieces some men friends say they will wait til they can get more friends to help. Forget that! I have two dollies, one is called a piano dolly, the other is a large 2 wheel dolly that breaks down to a longer 4 wheel dolly. I feel like I can move mountains. This is an absolute lovely make over! Good job!

The details inside that home are incredible. Wood trims, stairs, doors, etc. needed so much work, but looked like new when you were done 👍🏻👏🏻. The fireplace, bay window and bath also look amazing now. Love the warm tones of the new wall paint as well. Truly like having a brand new home, but with all the elegance and charm of the old Victorian era. I would love living there🥰🤗

Wow! Really impressed by how beautiful the fireplace inserts in the lounge and sitting room turned out after a good clean. I had no idea such products existed, but then, I don't live in a 120 year old in the UK. The upstairs bathroom redo was amazing. I love the new vinyl flooring, it's so pretty and fits the age/style of the house. (I subsequently saw you used the same flooring in the downstairs powder room [half bath]). It's just so beautiful...😍 I'm moving next month to a house that's approx 100 years old. The previous owners didn't touch the aesthetic of the exterior but the interior is... 😭 They tear down everything and reconstructed in the most 90's "expensive tacky" way... I'll never understand why people say the kitchen is terrible and tear out all the cabinets, only to. Replace them. With lookalikes. Why not just reduce the number and replace countertops, plumbing, hardware, lighting and appliances. I hope hope hope they donated them or sold stuff. And most of my life, I'd have jumped for joy to have that stove. Now as a senior I only 😮 cook for one. I've done this kind of work, and it can be back b reading great work. I'd PROBABLY have put up wallpaper in the dining room.something cool and gardeny colors, cool greens and blues,. But I most admire that they really prepped surfaces and didnt just slap paint around.
In fairness the existing cabinetry looked like it was made of mdf, not plywood. Mdf has a lifespan of only 10 years or so. It doesn't look like the existing kitchen had been done more recently than a decade so it makes little sense to put in the hard work to cut and remake new cabinetry out of old mdf when you'll have to probably cut it out and redo very soon. This is in part why mdf is such a terrible material - and the worst part is that it usually can't be recycled due to the bonding agent within it. Unfortunately the new kitchen cabinetry looks like mdf as well.
The kitchen part of the renovation was so wasteful and ignorant on their part. “Who needs eight hops?!” Most people would love to have a range that large. The fact she didn’t understand why a home cook would need that many hops tells me she doesn’t cook, and therefore she shouldn’t have any say in what a kitchen should look like. And yes I totally agree with what you said about ripping out perfectly good cupboards only to replace them with something similar. It made no sense except from a price gouging standpoint, since it felt like they were trying to squeeze every dime out of the owners that they could with that kitchen reno.
Im not understanding putting up all the same boring white subway type tile on the walls in the kitchen. There's so many backsplash colors and styles out there than those.
100% inspired and pushed me to finish my floors at the beginning of this year and to finally pick a pattern you made it look easy and it’s was easier to understand how to do the cuts thank you

I love, love, love the paint choices! So much better than all white. The fireplaces looked brand new and made the space so inviting! My heart died seeing linoleum being installed over the beautiful hardwood floors. I grew up in a Victorian Era house under renovation my whole childhood and just remember hours of removing layers of linoleum and stripping and sanding the beautiful hardwood floors. Maybe the new owners can fix that part themselves. 😊 Your attention to detail however did not go unnoticed. Fantastic work!
Thank you for your comment ❤️ The only place we installed vinyl over floorboards was the upstairs bathroom. All the other rooms either had terracota tiles (downstairs toilet) or cement flooring (kitchen). In the U.K. is a golden rule to add carpets to bedrooms as they are warm.
@@TheIndigoEscapeI was very curious as to why you covered over the terra cotta tiles in the small bathroom. Were they damaged or did you just want a cohesive flow? Here in the U.S., everyone is obsessed with tile floors for every kitchen and bathroom,which I hate. Much prefer the rolled linoleum,softer and easier to clean. (I was just thinking of cost saving since the tiles were already there.)

Agree about the cooker. A 4-ring hob is too small for a family home I think.

I too, wanted to address the painting over the surface that had mold.
All I could think of while watching this video was what did they do to get rid of the mold? Washing and painting over does not get rid of the problem unfortunately 😢 beautiful work, but it's not a healthy house.

Wow! Really impressed by how beautiful the fireplace inserts in the lounge and sitting room turned out after a good clean. I had no idea such products existed, but then, I don't live in a 120 year old in the UK. The upstairs bathroom redo was amazing. I love the new vinyl flooring, it's so pretty and fits the age/style of the house. (I subsequently saw you used the same flooring in the downstairs powder room [half bath]). I'm moving next month to a house that's approx 100 years old. The previous owners didn't touch the aesthetic of the exterior but the interior is... 😭 They tear down everything and reconstructed in the most 90's "expensive tacky" way...
I'm hoping to get old photos from the interior before the renovation and slowly change it back... even if it's not original...😢

You guys did an amazing job on this property! It's the attention to detail that really makes all the difference, and you know how to do that extremely well. Beautiful!!
I'll never understand why people say the kitchen is terrible and tear out all the cabinets, only to. Replace them. With lookalikes. Why not just reduce the number and replace countertops, plumbing, hardware, lighting and appliances. I hope hope hope they donated them or sold stuff. And most of my life, I'd have jumped for joy to have that stove. Now as a senior I only 😮 cook for one. I've done this kind of work, and it can be back b reading great work. I'd PROBABLY have put up wallpaper in the dining room.something cool and gardeny colors, cool greens and blues,. But I most admire that they really prepped surfaces and didnt just slap paint around.
In fairness the existing cabinetry looked like it was made of mdf, not plywood. Mdf has a lifespan of only 10 years or so. It doesn't look like the existing kitchen had been done more recently than a decade so it makes little sense to put in the hard work to cut and remake new cabinetry out of old mdf when you'll have to probably cut it out and redo very soon. This is in part why mdf is such a terrible material - and the worst part is that it usually can't be recycled due to the bonding agent within it. Unfortunately the new kitchen cabinetry looks like mdf as well.
The kitchen part of the renovation was so wasteful and ignorant on their part. “Who needs eight hops?!” Most people would love to have a range that large.
The fact she didn’t understand why a home cook would need that many hops tells me she doesn’t cook, and therefore she shouldn’t have any say in what a kitchen should look like.
And yes I totally agree with what you said about ripping out perfectly good cupboards only to replace them with something similar. It made no sense except from a price gouging standpoint, since it felt like they were trying to squeeze every dime out of the owners that they could with that kitchen reno.
Im not understanding putting up all the same boring white subway type tile on the walls in the kitchen.
There's so many backsplash colors and styles out there than those.

I love, love, love the paint choices! So much better than all white. The fireplaces looked brand new and made the space so inviting! My heart died seeing linoleum being installed over the beautiful hardwood floors. I grew up in a Victorian Era house under renovation my whole childhood and just remember hours of removing layers of linoleum and stripping and sanding the beautiful hardwood floors. Maybe the new owners can fix that part themselves. 😊 Your attention to detail however did not go unnoticed. Fantastic work!

The only place we installed vinyl over floorboards was the upstairs bathroom. All the other rooms either had terracota tiles (downstairs toilet) or cement flooring (kitchen).
In the U.K. is a golden rule to add carpets to bedrooms as they are warm.
@@TheIndigoEscapeI was very curious as to why you covered over the terra cotta tiles in the small bathroom. Were they damaged or did you just want a cohesive flow? Here in the U.S., everyone is obsessed with tile floors for every kitchen and bathroom,which I hate. Much prefer the rolled linoleum,softer and easier to clean. (I was just thinking of cost saving since the tiles were already there.)
