As a Macedonian I will have to disagree with the "Slavic roots" part as we dont originate from Slavs. Our DNA is quite literally the closest to Albanians and Greeks than to any other nation on Earth, even Bulgarians who love to claim we are most closely related to them. If we originate from Slavs, that means Greeks and Albanians do too, which is definitely not true.
