      Before I'd say no, just need to learn positioning. However, the current meta being like "dead by daylight" for support players, it's more of a challenge now. I actually like playing Ana so I don't mind it, but I swear to God almost every match I'm playing against a roadhog that just hunts me down no matter what support im on, and my teammates aren't going to do much to help me so I just have to play either ana to sleep him and nade, or play moira to escape. I hate hog
      Edit: UPDATE, today I played Ana in competitive against a Hog, and I kept using my cooldowns on the hog to shut him down (we had a wrecking ball) the Hog player told me he "hopes I die in a fatal car crash" verbatim. A little redundant but anyway

    • @Real_MisterSir

      When I play support I just hunt the enemy. Nobody expects the supports to not run for their lives - and supports low key have some of the best duelling kits in the game with both cc, sustain, and offensive utility (some more than others ofc). Honestly as a dps main who flexes both tank and support, it really doesn't come off as difficult to turn the tables on anyone who thinks they can bully supports for free without them standing their ground.

      This dude may be good at the game, but he is an absolute moron. Flats isn't the divine speaker of balance, for all levels of skill, for all roles and heroes, now and in the future, since 2016 til the day Overwatch dies. He even thinks "don't take his word as gospel" is a scornful insult because he himself felt threatened by a tiktok guy telling casual players to not apply OWL's stale meta to every single game they play. Meta isn't concrete, it relies more on perception than the actual game. During actual cash-prize tournaments, you would have to be absurdly bold not to play meta. But for fun? At home, with the only stakes being your rank? Stylosa SHOULD give advice for hero synergies, or gameplay tips, but instead he assumes entire 5v5 compositions with perfect comms and knowledge of the game when he discusses balance. Oh, and equal skill level too, which doesn't happen anywhere. Either OWL allows certain characters to be non-viable for tournaments, doing what they can with the game, OR they demand all heroes be equally viable for them, because they have influence and fuck the millions who play for fun. You can't balance both, you literally can't. Seeing weird shakeups or non-meta stuff in tournaments is precisely what makes watching them fun and exciting. OWL is a bore, they refuse to defy meta. They play like robots, act like robots, then come home and clickbait on YT and TTV for more cash.

    His initial statement in that last one isn't fully wrong... Most of the tanks, especially Roadhog, were balanced around there being two tanks in a 6v6 environment. Getting a one-shot pick with Hog was much less impactful in 6v6 than it is now. Ball is in much the same position as he is meant to roam around all over the place while the other tank held the line with the rest of the team, doing that now just leaves all your squishies undefended unless they are also diving with you.

    • @astupidlylongnamethatstoolong
      @astupidlylongnamethatstoolong ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hog and Ball operate in the same sphere of influence now, create space, get a pick instantly and roll the fight with it. Your team has to be able to play around the times you can't get a pick, the times where you're not being a "tank" (ball roaming around in the back or hog not peeking for his heals when cooldowns are off etc) they're essentially just a 3rd dps roll than a tank

    • @benmaciver4190
      @benmaciver4190 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guys I mean no offence, but Ball is pretty balanced, he creates alot of space and can get picks rather easy, if you have good target priority, if you are struggling with easy picks then your not diving the right target. Also using all your CD as ball is just wrong, your positioning is bad or your being to aggressive, there's a time to dive and a time to tank.

    I think, when it comes to the org names, OWL shouldn't bind themselves to a city or state. Especially since some of those teams ARE owned by the aforementioned prestigious orgs, like NRG and what not. If you like an org and want to support them across different esport titles, it does become difficult when it comes to OWL, because they're the outlier. They're associated with states / cities as opposed to actual org.

    Supports problem isn’t that it’s easy or hard, self reliant or team dependent, the problem is that support is not…fun. There’s thrill in it sometimes sure but the reason so many people go DPS Moira is out of spite, because playing support makes you become everyone’s bitch. The enemy team targets you as it’s tactically to their benefit, and unfortunately in a lot of cases, your own team verbally abuse or report you because you physically cannot heal everyone at all times, not without potentially sacrificing your own life and feeding, making a lot of support to game play “walking back from spawn” simulator if the enemy team is popping off. It’s just stress and a feeling of helplessness that inevitably sets in whenever you step into the role long enough, and instead of it being addressed, hell even mentioned, Blizzard hands is more bullets in a clip or a second off a cool down meanwhile buffing all the characters that can either indirectly or directly instant kill a support player before they can even realize what’s happening

I'd personally say Support is the most difficult class since there's a lot more management and while their abilities and ults swing matches, they really require their teammates to utilize the abilities. @colbywood9936 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@shundoraud3908 mechanical skill in my opinion is a thousand times easier than splitting focus and resource management. With dps all you have to do is hit your shots and not put yourself into bad positions. With support you have to do all this, with less movement options, less damage, less duelling potential and also worry about being targeted and keeping consistent heals while also not being a heal bot.
      Genuinely playing dps well with characters like Ashe, mei, genji, reaper or junk rat is leagues easier than playing a good Baptist, Ana, zenyatta, or brigitte.
      So while there are characters that are certainly harder or easier to play on both roles to me at least the good supports are simply harder to play then the good dps’s.
      Of course as a support you can play brainless characters like mercy or Moira and still have a huge impact, but when it comes down to it, if it comes down to which roles are easier to do well with, even if supports have a greater relative impact it’s still harder to master in my opinion.

Noone expects clutch heals from a Zen because outside of his ult, he is stuck with 30 health per second on a single target. Everything else is basically being a murder hobo and pressing Q at the same time when the enemy team presses Q.
    Not saying Zen doesn't take skill to play, because on a mechanical level, he absolutely does, but in terms of decision making, Zenyatta is one of the easiest characters in the entire game.

      @Ashen_Night116 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Z_tarkov That's rich, that's incredibly rich, you say that as if it takes any skill to use Cadeus Staff and buff a Soujourn to help invalidate the entire roster except Bastion and the tanks. Oh what's that? You actually have to manage your orbs as a Zenyatta? Instead of pressing LMB or RMB to just sit there and buff someone as a point and click adventure?
      Gee golly, it's almost like every support just has a button they can press that only takes a modicum of brain power to effectively use. I'm sorry, but all supports are generally on the same level of skill, some just require more mechanical skill while others need more strategic skill. The only downside of support is you're public enemy #1, and even then; over half the supports have a get out of jail free card.

    When I played endgame Elder Scrolls Online, supports were BOTH tanks and healers. In a 12 man group there were 8 dps and supports handled the buffs while dps did the task of killing the raid bosses. Healers were still called healers because they're the support that does more healing, but healing sets and abilities were assigned to tanks and to dps, and the primary job of all supports was buff uptime because healing itself was a fairly straightforward task, and holding aggro a little less so but similar. It's definitely not weird to call supports healers but in ESO the saying was "don't stand in stupid" which is essentially saying good DPS should take less damage. If you had to drop some healing for buff uptime it was usually worth the trade because the faster the boss was dead the less opportunity for something to go wrong.

    Supports are expected to play pixel perfect 24/7, no other role has those expectations. There will always be people ready to queue Tank and DPS, but supports have waited years to see any improvement in game play experience, but it just keeps getting worse. Nothing is rewarding about queuing support, unless you have a shaming kink. When Reddit Lucios, Battle Moiras, 1 Tap Zens, and AC130 Mercy's are allowed to do their thing suddenly people are having fun again. But forcing people to queue into Ana and Kiriko to counter meta tanks, or Lucio to speed boost Reapers, Reins, and the others lard asses into viability just saps the fun out of the game.
    I don't understand why they can't give Lucio his boop back (ie. one that doesn't get fortify blocked passively, you know the thing that made his kit fun), maybe give Zen some fun mobility like kicking off the ground to gain height, give Brigitte something like a variable shield that could change sizes. Nobody expects it to be perfect, but just do something.

    OhDough or whatever his name is needs to find out you don’t go after stylosa like that. Like his content or not, dude has given so much to this community and is definitely one of the content creator GOATs if not the top one. Hate or disagree with his content all you want but the dude deserves respect.

    I play all roles and as support I have noticed I’m required to to much more dynamic play where I need to make decisions about when to deal damage and when to heal, what targets to prioritize and when to save myself instead of another player. As a tank player I also feel like I need to peel for my supports much more often than in OW1. Support demands a lot more from the player in OW2 than before.

    2:00 The thing is, it being the easiest role to play well with has never been true.
    "Playing well and not sucking" is not just maintaining your team alive and dealing some damage, that's the part that anybody could do.
    It is assumed that both supports in BOTH teams are doing that.
    The real question is how do you do stuff that goes above and beyond the baseline. THAT'S actually hard.
    If you just healbot and every now and then use an utility, you are not contributing anything, you are just not AFK.

      Wrong. There is always someone in the other team that is worse. Or it is you. All depends on who you're up against. They don't heal enough, they dps too much, they don't actually kill anyone, etc etc.
      Tired of these same arguments every time, people have nothing new to say.

    The reason I liked kiriko souch was because I could help my dps get kills more consistently when they flanked, well that and the ult. Thanks blizzard

    I always prided myself on being a support main because I thought my role was hard. Turns out being a zen one trick did not enlighten me to how easy the rest of my role is too play.
