I know what you mean. When I learned this technique I first tried to make the folds meet and it very much became wavy and didnt sit right. When I accepted the the 1/8" gap (lol), it worked perfectly and I became a believer.
Youre welcome! and thank you. Its such and easy method. I wish I could claim it as my own but I came across it in a couple of place and it was too good to not share it. If you ever have a suggestion for a video, let us know.
I agree! This is supposed to bring us joy, right? We can go the Bob Ross route and accept as a happy accident (as long as we don't have to rip out the whole seam 😉).

If you flip the corners opposite so the material you are stitching along will go over the next side instead under it you won't have any problems holding it
You are absolutely correct! Thank you. As I said in the beginning of the video, Im teaching as Im learning and hoping this kind conversation occurs so that I continue learning. I wondered about how to best say it to remember it and you said it perfectly. Again, thank you.
.How do you get it under the presser foot? Mine is 3 layers, middle is light flannel . The binding adds a couple more layers. Now it won't go under the foot. I just bought a Heavy Duty Singer 4452. Presser foot doesn't lift far enough. Do you adjust the pressure knob,?
You can try adjusting the presser foot pressure. From what I see, it looks like there if a dial on top of the machine that can be adjusted to reduce the amount of pressure.
Glueing in the binding down is awesome! I lightly glue and use wonder clips. The next day, it is ready to stitch! 🎉
I've watched a lot of binding tutorials!!! Thanks so much! This helped more than most. I'm ready to do the next quilt!!! 💗
I love how you say, "You do you," with your quilt. I so need to remember that grace!
The thing that you do to make you happy should make you happy.😉
Oh I love matching the X, I always have so much trouble joining that final spot on the binding. Thank you.

I just sewed one on the front side first too! It came out ok but I do prefer stitching to the back side first. :) Beautiful quilt!
😊
I go back and forth on which side I stitch and which side I roll over to. It depends on how Im feeling that day.
Thanks for sharing. I’m getting ready to sew my binding on. Going to follow your suggestions. 7:53

Are you to push black button on pressure foot as you sew over thick fabric.
Is that what black button is for?

Is there a knot stop button for the 1/4 inch stop and pivot? Don't have to back stitch.
Home again sew along in the future from MSQ? Just an idea!
Tell me more. Is this a particular pattern from Missouri Star? You have me intrigues. 🤨
2-color quilt - beautiful.
