We are taking another more in-depth look at all the new Centurion armor pieces, and also talking about what would be the most "realistic" out of all the armor options.
I’ve been reading into the armor that Roman cavalry wore and from what I’ve seen they found some helmets that had face plates on them. So I’ve been using the baetica helmet. But anyways, that’s for the video!
Considering the entire campaign in Gaul was against a people who didn't seem be able to figure out chest armor was a cool thing to have, yet figured out how to dye the most intricately-patterned pajama pants for each and every one of their warriors to march into battle with, I can see how they'd reach that conclusion.
Thank you for your input on the armors, I've also thought that the flaming tattoos was kind of silly, I wish I had the Hercules gladius, but ill just have to go with something else
I listed a few other good options when I did the weapon analysis, I would recommend checking that out as there are some pretty good other choices as well.
Honestly, I always up for new heroes whatever they might be. I think that if they were to make some form of Boyar, that would be more Knights while a Druzhina would be more of a viking hero just due to the overall look fitting with that faction more.

New fan, just watched your warden realism video and noticed a slight oversight, which is his directional combos, with side heavies into other side heavies (as he does not twirl during this combo as you pointed out,) and side lights into top lights etc. also noticed this with your BP video, and I would love to see your insight on these combos in future videos! Really loving the vids, keep it up. 👍👍
As always, they try hard to make the armor look battered and battle-worn, but in the end it looks like the warriors have a problem with maintaining it.
I feel like they definitely have been improving on it as of late, but we won't be able to tell if they just keep rehashing old armor and giving us that.

You have good taste in customization, very basic, I would go with either the lorica musculata or lorica squamata So for me I think the Baetica (complete set), Campania (complete set) Dalmatia (chest and legs only) Gallaecia (no helmet or pauldrons) Samnium's (only the helmet) Alaudae (complete set) Achaea (chest only) Dacia (chest and legs only) Primigenia (complete set) Thessalia (chest and legs only) Orcus (chest and legs only) Ferus (chest and legs only) Creta (chest and legs only) Umbrian (chest and legs only) Hippocrene (no helmet) Amarantus (chest and legs only) Macriana (complete set), As for swords Standard, Trusty, Veteran, Decanus, Optio, Decanus Pax, Auratum, the last most decorated ones for my services in the Emperor's name Red capes for a historical reason! :D AVE IMPERATOR, DEUS VULT!!!!!
I personally like all 3 centurion armors, the squamata, musculata and segmentata. I don’t like hamata because I prefer the most protective armor for centurion and personal preference lol. My Roman boi is still missing a scutum and my personal favourite helmet would be the primigenia berkasovo since I like nasal type helmets.

I don't get why Ubisoft finds it so goddamn hard to just put actual armor into the game. The work is, quite literally, already done for them. Rather than having to pull some bullshit out of thin air if they just went with the actual shit we'd all be a lot happier and their job would be a lot easier.
This has nothing to do with the cent armors or this video, but the amount of rust on Tiandi’s arms for his Metal Trials set have so much rust on them, I don’t like it.
Really don't know why they are on such an oxidation trip lately with new armors and variations (even weapons). Although I would like to believe that no one likes it, there most likely are a few people that do... but to me it just completely ruins the look, unfortunately.
Hey GoGoDani! I really liked your theory and others about how Gladiator could be "crazy". I wanted to somewhat prove this all because of his executions. (I don't remember what it was called) but we see Gladiator throw his trident into an enemy killing them, and then he dances his way over with roses falling from the sky to grab it back. Where are the roses coming from? This really proves this all might be in his head, because he's literally bowing to a non existent crowd and roses falling from the sky in a warzone lmao. I know it might be a cosmetic to really show he's a gladiator, but I had to say something. Great video! Hope you see this!
Man, I just wish they'd give all the nights some realistic armor that fits. And that they give us an option to take away the Rusty worn out look. Like I'm sure they would know how to take care of their armor and weapons for it to not rust and look horrible like it does.
So this is your first video that I've come across, and I have to say I really like it. Though you and I have differing opinions on how much realism we should have, you don't come off as pretentious or up tight about it, and I really appreciate that. Now no way am I doing a realistic centurion build (gems, gilds, and masks for life baby), but I'm gonna binge your other videos on armor realism because this stuff is really cool, and your quick fire approach is right up my alley. The late Roman ridge helm or "Berkasovo" I name which I have never heard used for that type of helmet btw was definitely employed in battle, there's a less ornate version called the "burgh castle" helmet which is basically the exact same concept.
I like how the new Musculatas are plain. Because ones meant for battle wouldnt have been as decorated like you see on statues. It wouldn't be too far out there for a Centurion to purchase a Musculata for himself if he had the funds and the want.
The tattoos on the rapax set symbolizes the kraken . If you look at the chest it has some tentacles. I believe this centurion was a marine. Although i can’t help but imagine him being a Greek. I also found out that lower class people usually had tattoos. Perhaps this centurion shows his devotion to Neptune. One can only speculate..
I like this theory. And to be fair, there is a fair bit of Greek inspiration in Roman culture, and there was quite a bit of Hoplite inspiration with Centurion's design as I mentioned in the original Centurion analysis. What would also help solidify your point, is the fact that chest armor that has the Kraken tattoos, is also the same set with the most Greek looking helmet.
No, it depends on the situation. A very large majority of them would wear some shade of red or another neutral color like white or some sort of off-white. To my understanding, there were other different specific Roman troops who wore a specific color based off of their work. For example, the Roman Legionaries who were a part of the Roman Navy wore shades of blue. I believe the Metatron has more information on this subject if you are interested.
I STILL haven’t gotten all of them. I’m lucky I can still look at them, but I am still missing a few. I’m also not proud of how much steel and scav boxes I spent in the effort try to get them.
GoGoDani I have spent 27k steel and havent gotten a single new piece of centurion armor, not even something i havent got from the previous seasons. At least you got something, on the bright side i have unlimited salvage
It would be cool if they gave us more to spend salvage on. Like, the XP boosters are nice, but I have so many tickets as well that I hardly ever even use that. Even if it was something as ridiculous as 1,000 Salvage can be crafted into 100 Steel, it would still be nice.
IDK if it's just me but I like to have my centurion somewhat flashy and far from looking like your "average soldier" since isn't a Centurion a general or something like that? Meaning he had power and most likely wealth as well?
As for me, the centurion is nevertheless closer to the Byzantine Empire, and for this reason he has many Greek things. The same shoulders are similar to those that the Byzantines dragged on themselves in the early period.

Most of the Roman empire saw pants as "barbaric" so thats why they didnt usually wear them, for those who didn't know

I believe Centurions must be at least 35 or 40 because of the military service requirements
