      Queen_Beckk GOLD That’s the unfortunate nature of classical musical with a lot of background parts playing essentially playing the same rhythms/notes as a support for the main melodies. But you still have to appreciate the evenness of the fingers, the double tonguing, circular breathing, dynamic contrast as individuals and an ensemble, the interval jumps, the rhythmic security and technique achieved by all, musical phrasing, and the ability to properly incorporate vibrato relevant to be piece, all while keeping individual time without a director. Playing music comes down to more than what is written on the page, it comes to the individual interpretation of the piece and the mastery achieved by each player and their own feelings into it. Many of the techniques achieved in these piece I doubt you could replicate with your 5 years of experience. Unless you are a saxophone prodigy and have achieved most of these techniques through constant practice then good for you but I guarantee you would probably not be able to replicate this piece to the musicality and technicality shown in this video. But hey that’s just my opinion.

      @@hockeynguyen I agree with your comment and im not saying that im better than them they are professionals. I said i was sad... I use to play jazz , rock, metal, i use to play really fast we did some classic but it was remix , yess we did some crescendo, decrescendo, some subito piano,etc nothing special here. Maybe its true if i was told to play this song i wouldn't sound as good but if they had to play some song i did they wouldn't be able to. expect if they can play faster than how the soprano was playing. Anyways i respect what they do like i said i just wish they had played it with maybe a faster tempo or maybe if it wasnt only thw soprano who had the melodie.thw alto or tenor could have it too and maybe even the baritone. Anyways have a great day and keep up the good work !( english is not my first language frech is . I understand english perfectly but i might have done some spelling mistakes don't pay attention to that please)

      This show is actually a show where he "explains" music to (usually) non-musician celebrities, he explains some particular features that you might hear in some pieces of classical music and shows some examples on the piano. And then, to show them how this translates in real classical music, he asks an ensemble to play a piece of classical music where these musical particularies can be heard. And he often does those gestures (as in 2:31) to the guests to remind them of his earlier explanations, to say "this is the part I was talking about, remember?". So absolutely no direspect at all from him, quite the contrary.

    Just discovering this interpretation, which is very nice of course, but I don't recognise anything obout the winter movement here ... as it completely lacks the violence and tragedy of the original piece. I mean, the first movoemnt of winter describes the biting cold coming, and feet hitting the floor as one is trying to keep warm in a strange kind of dance. This is not a "nice" or "sensible" moment at all and Vivaldi's not trying to show us the beauty of winter. There is a sense of danger looming. Here begins the last season, when everything dies. But in the interpretation we have here, everything is nice and leveled, the vibrato is sensible and romantic, the spirit simply isn't here. There seems to be no understanding of the meaning of this piece. Winter doesn't just come by and say hello like this, and at that time in the past you didn't just turn the heating on in your house. If winter caught you unprepared, you were in big trouble. This is what winter meant to Vivaldi. The end. Of everything. Of the year, of food, of life, And it always begins like this : a few delicate snowflakes and cold wind, that don't seem to mean any harm, but tell so much about the forecoming demise. The rest of Vivaldi's Winter is just that : darkness, and violence. So much different from the summer storm, the winter storm is not about wrath, but death. The end of the four seasons is like the end of life : dark, alone, and tragic.

      Vep Iru You thought way to into this. I’ve never listened to this piece and thought of death, danger, winter, violence, etc. It always made me think of delicate flowers, spring walks, lovely doves flying by, etc.

      The verse of the sonnet that Vivaldi wrote for this movement is this:
      Shivering, frozen mid the frosty snow in biting, stinging winds;
      running to and fro to stamp one's icy feet, teeth chattering in the bitter chill.
      I agree with Vep Iru.
