This was my favorite jazz tune with Dave Brubeck when I was studying drums one hundred years ago.

My oldest brother got me hooked on this song when I was 9 or so. He was 13 years older and played sax. Think he was learning this for a gig. I still love it 60 some years later!!

I just now realized that anyone who can hear even a middling live rendition of Take Five and feel nothing is someone I need to avoid at all costs.
That was sweet, I played the Bari in school and this song my senior year...such a fun song.

@@javierfjlc Wrong! I have two degrees in classical saxophone. And Adolphe Sax invented the saxophone for use in the symphony orchestra as evidenced by the original saxophone key in C and F.

If you want all Take Five performances to be the same, then keep complaining about how these four played. I still find it really interesting to the song in this style, amongst other styles and, well, they played what they play really well.

corrí el video, y por la primera impresión que tuve es que eran Croacia, o algún lugar de Europa del Este,.... cuando entraron los otros, los veo y digo, OK,.... tal vez mix con griegos o italianos,...... suenan bien, el sitio se ve bien...... al acabar me gusto y busque mas detalles..... This is an example of something being aggressively okay. Not great, but not terrible either.
Perfect way to describe it. I'm sure their family loves it but other musicians, especially other sax players not so much. I've played for 35 years and there were a few tasty parts but for the most part it was pretty cringy. The beginning of the soprano solo was okay but the tenor was hard to listen to.
