Dark mode would only improve battery life on an OLED Mac, which does not currently exist. LCDs feature an always-on backlight, no matter what is on the screen.
@JRW lol you should read before comment. Dark mode DOES NOT save battery on non OLED displays (all current macbooks). All pixels light up the same no matter what color. iPhone is different as it uses OLED displays.
my new MacBook Air 2020's battery drains while plugged in to 92% and starts charging again . it does it everyday once. It has 19 cycles since I bought it two months ago. No Apple technician could help me, saying that they had never seen such a problem. All of them say the battery is normal. I have wasted so much time
everything i open drains my battery. I've had the macbook pro 13 2020 for less than a month. even when i open system preferences to see if i can fix it, it says that the system preferences are usinf a significant energy. it's also heating up pretty much as soon as i turn it on. what should i do?
pls give me a suggession, my bettery is shown "NORMAL" when i operate macbook air m2 time duration is okay, but when i off the laptop two or three days then bettery shown abnormally down, like off time better was 100% after three days when i start the pc thats times bettery shown 20%, whats the problem, please give me tips.
Good video but please guys refrain from the CleanMyMac X and all software like this. You can use storage management tools built into Mac. I understand they sponsored the video, and the guy had to speak about it, but use Apples built-in storage management
Hey Hi Great Video Tutorial I did everything that you suggested on your List of things to do when saving Battery Life but you did not mention anything about Spotlight Should I disable it ?

for programmers the UNIX based system and the ability to make iOS apps. In general, if you have other iOS devices like an iPhone then everything syncs up nicely
Switching to dark mode on a non-oled panel (like every single macbook pro) does nothing for battery life. The backlight is still on at the same brightness

Yes its true on oled even if its not dark black make it use less battery since white consume battery on oleds

It still saves a little and also, even if it doesn't save battery, it helps your eyes because they are less exposed to a bright screen.
correct, Dark mode won't save battery on a non OLED display.
It saves your eyes

No bro it help on lcd panels too
@@harshsharma9911 It does not on non OLED. Read how LCD works to understand why

What are your thoughts on plug and play of the mac? Connected to mains when at a desk.
pretty sure that slowly kills the battery. Just use it on battery till like 10-20% then plug it in
Great. You were very right about Google chrome. Thank you
Do you recommend to uninstall chrome?

How much of a difference does using safari make as opposed to chrome or others
it avoids a lot of overheating
huge difference. Chrome being a RAM hog is a meme for a reason

Chris House If you want to clean your Mac, I would back up your files then do a factory reset then restore your files.

I really liked macbooks for their battery life comparing to other laptops. Now this option is gone, I will switch to Microsoft
