Congrats on the As and B. Make sure you retain everything you learn! That patho and pharm will be critically important all throughout the program, and your career. :D
I would rather see someone focus on a solid career like nursing, than base their existence on TH-cam earnings. Yeah, it might lucrative for the time being, but that can fizzle out, as well.
I feel the exact same way, I wonder what some people would be doing if TH-cam shut down tomorrow.
Actually a lot of the big TH-camrs would be able to use their time on TH-cam on their resume. Being a TH-camr is a content creator, whether it be for gaming, comedy, cooking, etc. For gaming youtubers, they could go on to create and design video games or something to that extent. Some actually already have done so. But I don't think vloggers will have as much of a successful time finding a job after TH-cam.
whoever said you suck at TH-cam, sucks at life. they obviously don't know what being a full time dedicated student is plus having a life outside the Internet.

Congrats on getting yourself through those tough times of self doubt (I'd we can call it that?). The greatest struggles lead to the greatest accomplishments in my experiences. I went through my social work degree while being pregnant my Jr year of school, and having a newborn at the start of my Sr year while doing an internship, working full time, and being a full time mom wife and contributer to our household. it was THE hardest thing I've done. but GIRL let me tell you, walking across that stage with the rest of my classmates, graduating on time despite my adversities really made it extremely special than JUST a degree. you are an amazing person. I'm only 23 so we're about the same age and it's nice to see that even though we have different paths, I can totally relate to your situations and can put myself back in those situations when I was in them. from personal adversities to academic. I was even a daycare teacher and had to quit to continue to do school and nannied the rest of my school time (I really couldn't be without a job :( ). I've been a long time follwerer but don't really comment. I just felt the need to comment when you mentioned how people said that you suck at TH-cam. I appreciate your hard work and am extemely happy when I see a video up because I know you took some time (which is rare I know) to sit down and do this when you could have easily been catching up with friends instead of catching us up in your life. so thank you Kathryn. :)

Don't apologize for not uploading as often! School is way more important, and I totally understand that nursing school is a LOT of work. Anyone who gets mad that you aren't uploading doesn't understand how much work it is.
I graduate nursing school in May 2016. Keep going, you will finish! When time gets rough just remember why you started in the first place. Don't forget to have fun!

Nursing school was the toughest thing I've ever done, but also my greatest accomplishment. With that said, I already had 2 degrees going into it, but they were nothing like what awaited me at nursing school! :)
Be prepared to make significant sacrifices. Forget your family, girlfriend, job, etc. The only moments of joy are when you get your test grades back and you passed! It feels amazing. For every semester you pass there is a feeling of exhilaration. I felt that graduating from nursing school put me in very special and select company. Stay strong!
school is way more important than youtube just pick up the camera when you can and don't worry about editing so much. good luck hun you can rock this!!!

I did something very similar like your pages only if I struggled with something I wrote it with markers on Bristol board and stuck it on the wall with painter tape!! ha-ha I was constantly surrounded by cognitive psychology stuff all the time last year!! it's funny because sometimes i'd remember those boards in exams lol!! good luck girl!! you've got this!!

Nursing school will at times humiliate someone, but overall humbles them. The art is never learned from a book and it's the toughest, hardest, wildest, more worthwhile ride there is. You slowly let go of every superficial thing that just don't matter no more! Congrats. It's an amazing feat getting through, and one day at time, you will!

I totally get the struggles of nursing school. I'm in my 3rd (AND FINAL) year this year in Australia and it has been a rollercoaster of emotions! I've definitely almost dropped out at points and not wanted to be there and I still don't feel smart enough or near ready to be let loose next year in hospital. But it's so rewarding. I actually never wanted to be a nurse ever but it's where I've ended up and I love it so much! And I was the same with study, all through high school I never started things early or put in much effort but it just clicked when I started my degree! I hope it all goes well and smoothly for you. And don't let the hard days define you! You'll have the shitty days where nothing seems to go right but you'll get there! Good luck!
Wow...31 chapters!?! I feel guilty when my exams cover 3 or 4 chapters! How many questions are on an exam like that? I don't give more than 100 questions per exam. That is harsh! And you are definitely smart enough to be there! You're gonna make a fantastic nurse!

I could relate a ton to what you were saying. Ha yes application based questions are so hard to adjust to! No one truly understands Kathryn unless they are in nursing school to begin with!
Good for you! Nursing school is hard but I had some of the best times with my fellow students in nursing school! Between study groups and waiting on test grades to be posted together we had such a strong bond! It is so worth all the hard work. It is such a rewarding career! Good luck!

I've been watching your videos for forever and I was so excited to hear that you were starting your nursing journey! I am a senior nursing student and watching this video just brought memories flooding back of how overwhelmed I was! I had to quit nearly everything I was involved in! You are certainly handling the adjustment much better than I did. People told me that the beginning was the hardest too...definitely not true. However, the more you learn at your foundation, the easier life will be once you get to critical care, OB, Pediatrics, etc. Wishing you the best on this crazy journey called nursing school!

i thought of becoming a nurse ever since high school but now 4 yrs later i didn't even go to college, procrastinated with not having my life stable and finances. you're such an inspiration and you are smart! :) you will be so happy once you finish nursing school
Nursing school is definitely tough, but it does get so much easier. I think adjusting is the hardest. But you're doing awesome so far, keep it up. It's so rewarding! Also, nursing school does take up all your time but as a huge fan of yours I completely understand the lack of TH-cam videos and support you 100%! Keep up the awesome work girl ☺️

I graduated nursing school this past May and let me tell you, it was definitely the hardest thing I ever did! I have been working as a NICU nurse for the past 2 months and I'm loving it! Don't give up because if I can do it with 2 kids and a deployed husband, then I know you can! Good luck and I look forward to hearing your updates! :)
Hey Kathryn! Don't worry about the videos, my mom finished nursing school a little over four years ago, and she was always studying to keep her grades up! It's an admirable profession, that not just anyone can do! Be proud that you're doing so well! :)

I am in my junior year getting my bachelors in nursing. Hang in there, it gets better! It is no doubt the hardest thing I've ever done. You'll love it and hate it at the same time just because it is so overwhelming. You'll get a routine that works for you and you'll be great! 😊
My favorite videos are the ones where you just sit in front of the camera and talk about whatever like this one! Maybe it's because that's how I originally found your channel idk but this just made my day! Glad nursing school is going so well. Don't give up.
so glad nursing school is going well for you! I started out as a nursing student in a much more fast paced program than you, and it was just way to much for me to handle. I'm the same type of learner as you, I'm not good at applying the info I learn into a situational question and then basically having to choose from 4 right answers was hard as well. and that's literally what killed me on exams and I didn't find a way of studying that worked for me before it was too late! I tried everything! but so glad you are finding ways to adapt to the program! I'm now an ultrasound student and doing much better with school and I love it!

Ohhhh girl. I'm in nursing school too...I'm in the second semester, it does get better! Seriously people who aren't in nursing really do not understand why we are so crazy and stressed all the time. Watching this I was like oh my gah this was my life first semester. I had to retake patho because it was so hard to me. You don't believe anyone about how hard it is and then it becomes your reality, you are so smart!! You got this girl!!

I make my notes just like that! You are doing great in school. You will be a great nurse! & if you make mistakes, pace yourself & don't get made at yourself, take to them with a clear mind and take it day by day. Congratulations! 😊
This is very helpful! i'm totally getting your app so that i can see these updates! I'm thinking about going to school to be a nurse but haven't always had awesome grades. BUT knowing that there is going to be such a shortage - it's kind of encouraging. I know you'll do great ! you have a plan and you're going through with it! Wish i had that kind of discipline.

I did my LPN and then my RN. My husband did not understand my stress, but he is getting it now that he is in the program.
As someone who is curious about the nursing life because I want to be a registered nurse one day and maybe more. You gave me more confidence in trying harder and being a better worker. Keep up the good work ethic and overall attitude :)
No matter how hard it gets, you ARE smart enough. My determination alone is what got me through nursing school. Keep telling yourself that failure is not an option. Sometimes I would have to stay up all night studying, and yes I'd be exhausted for 3 days afterward but I passed the test. And in the end I passed nursing school. That is all that matters. Do what you have to do and you will succeed.

Don't feel bad at all, nursing school IS your job. A full time job where you hardly get any breaks. Upload when you can, but don't feel obligated. You are a great youtuber, and I'm sure you will be a great nurse! Keep up the good work :)

I attend UT Arlington and the nursing program here has patho and pharm are pre reqs to getting into the program. Its interesting seeing the differences in schools. Keep trucking girl! You are meant to be in the program, you got this!
This reminds me so much of when I was in dental hygiene school. Same style of testing and everything.. "All answers are right, but B Is MORE right." Ughhh I don't miss it at all but it was totally worth it.. It will be for you too! Keep up the good work Kathryn!

I am a college student at a university in Texas as well and I am starting my first semester of nursing school in January. I think it is so weird that at your school pharmacology/pathophysiology are included in the nursing program because at my school both of those classes are prerequisites to the nursing program. It is definitely going to be a challenge learning how to asses a patient and everything and recall back information from a semester or two ago and apply it instead of learn it all together like you are! Either way, tough classes but very rewarding! Hope you finish the rest of the semester strong! :)
This inspires me so much I am currently working toward getting into nursing school right this moment. I have to take the test to get into the school but I am in all prereqs for nursing school. You inspire me and I wish the best to you on your journey.

You can sell you hand written notes whenever you're done with that class, or done with college because I feel like you'd need those all throughout nursing school.

I'm in my 4th semester now and I graduate in January. It is sooo hard and not a lot of people understand unless they are in the program themselves. You'll be fine and you'll do great just keep up with everything and don't fall behind.
I am in my second semester of nursing school and I wish that we broke ours down into separate classes. Our semesters run on a case by case basis and that includes everything from patho, to pharm, to assessments and documentation, to interventions...... Literally everything to do with that particular disease. I wish you the best of luck! Just "stay calm and nurse on"!

Good luck in nursing school! I believe junior year is the hardest considering 10 hour clinical and extensively long care plans, as well multiple nursing classes w combined clinical and tests are back to back - the first yr might be harder for some people due to getting into the routine, but next yr is wayyy more work you will see lol - it only gets harder before it gets better

I have never had a problem with school but nursing school was completely different from anything I'd ever done. Number one thing I learned in nursing school is you don't have to know everything but you must know how the body works. Just knowing how the body works will save you on tests. For pharm group meds i.e. antibiotics increase fluids take without food nephrotoxic. Make the flash cards for pharm it will help you a great deal when you get to nclex. I hope you have an nclex review book I know it seems excessive considering the amount of material you already need to get through but you should be following the Saunders or Kaplan book through school. It sounds like your doing great though just some advice I needed when I started lol

Just wait until you have to do care plans with clinicals! Nursing school was brutal for me with small children and NO ONE understands just how hard it is unless they have been through it.

There is going to be a nursing shortage and there definitely is such a thing as nursing burnout. Its a thankless job.

I'm in nursing school right now, you need to go for it! If you want it bad enough you will make it work and you won't fail.
Nursing school is A LOT of work but if it's what you love, your passion and you can't see yourself working in any other field then go for it! When you love what you're going to school for it makes everything easier and worth it.

I did but I changed my major and came back home to a community college to attend nursing school because it is cheaper and I plan to finish my bachelors online once I finished my ADN.
