I do plan on keeping it. The Game Gear versions actually seem a little harder because you can't see forward as much as you can on the master system versions
One thing that's interesting to me is that these were made by second party subcontractors. Number One was made by Ancient and two and Chaos were by Aspect. And Sonic was a freaking big deal to Sega at the time, so I found it fascinating that they took their most precious property and gave it to two different companies to make games for. Nintendo itself has done stuff like this like Super Princess Peach for the DS being made by Tose. But still Sonic was ridiculously important at the time and arguably the success of the game gear depended on these games being good.
Good to know. It was cheaper to buy all three boxed versions from him then it would be to get a single lose copy of Sonic 1 for SMS at Portland Retro Gaming Expo..and both work on NTSC systems
He is a force of nature. Both Sonic the Hedgehog and my cat. I sort of stopped trying to keep my cat out of my videos. Like he literally will get his butt in between myself and the camera every time I hit record. So I don't fight him at this point. I definitely grew up with both Sonic and Mario and also Bonk, which is probably one of the reasons why I'm into all sorts of Retro games. I think the 8-bit versions are fascinating because they're their own games, but yet are technically impressive that they were able to take a 16-bit game and make a decent version on 8-Bit Hardware
I absolutely love those box art variants. I have also collected the JP Mega Drive variants for the same reason.
It ends up he put the original sleeves behind the re-print sleeves.
Keep the stay awesome! play retro Slogan. Also cool vid! I had the game gear versions of these game. Good memories!

Sonic, Sonic, and Sonic. I think it needs more Sonic. 🙃

only the first Sonic game came out for SMS in NA and I think it was the last SMS game in NA overall too IIRC
