How to fix and improve boat trailer tie down brackets

My shorelander trailer has. in my opinion, a design flaw with the rear tie down brackets.
In this video our friend and metal fabricator, Mike Baum makes some new brackets that is a much better design than the originals.

I like the boat buckles…. Less moving parts and they don’t get submerged even time u launch…not as convenient but works

Not really clear what the bracket looked like. How did it attach to the trailer?
